Heel is wearing very fast, getting large holes in heels within a few months. 2 pairs worn out already and may not buy again because of this

sloppy fit, didn't want to stay up. Next time I'd spend the extra couple of bucks for Smartwool.

I wear a size 7.5 women's shoe so I followed the size chart and bought a Medium. They were slightly large so I washed them in warm water and hung dry. They fit a bit better now but still too big. Worse than that though is the scratchiness which I find impossible to ignore. Was hoping the washing might improve this but, nope. Not particularly impressed, especially for the price.

Love the quality of the socks, but when I wore them with boots they were just too itchy. I'm used to wearing SmartWool socks, so I'm not sure why these Merino socks were so itchy. Sorry, but I'm returning them.

The seam on the toe is so prominent that I have to turn the socks inside out so they don't bother me. Other than that, they're nice and warm.

Got these looking for a thicker sock to keep my feet warmer than regular socks. These looked and felt like just what I wanted however after just one wear, they didn't feel the same and felt almost matted. A little disappointed. I wouldn't buy them again. Oh and not to mention, I know it happens, but one pair came with a large pull in the material.

I love them but one of the socks, of the 4, the toe seam isn't sewn correctly and it feels very funky on my toes. Other than that I use them for Sleeping because I suffer from Reynaud's Syndrome and my feet literally freeze year round.

These are lighter weight, not as thick and heavy as before. The diameter of the yarn is smaller. Another example of keeping the price the same by lowering the quantity (quality). What ever happened to colors of hunter green and medium heather blue? or even a deep brown? The color of grey is more like oatmeal, not a true light grey. In short, a poorer selection of colors and a lower quality product.

i use these for work , wearing safety boots, socks are very comfortable,
but only last less then a year before wearing out in the heel, even with rotation of several pairs.

My husband wears a size 12 shoe so I bought him the XL. The fit was great and he dearly loves these socks but unfortunately every pair I've bought him gets a hole in the heel within 6 months. He wears socks every day and none of his other socks do this. These socks are great but they are pricey and should last longer than 6 months.

The socks have a looser fit, unlike llbean boot socks which hug and snug your feet. And these are rough. I admit I am sensitive to how everything feels against my skin. I could feel the the fibers/weave. They are warm, being wool and I'm sure they are great socks - for the right person. If you are looking for smooth and soft - this is not it. I considered giving them to my grandson in cold CO - but he is also very sensitive about footwear in particular and his mother said, "Don't bother - he won't wear them if they are thick and rough".

I bought these socks for a trip to Finland a couple of weeks from now. I wanted to try them out before the trip so I wore them on a cold morning hike in the Smokies. They kept my feet warm, and they weren't itchy. However when we returned home and I washed them, the top of the sock is unraveling already. Not sure how long they'll last.

I finally wore out its predecessor, and was directed to this product from the old stock number. But these turn out to be so bulky that I cannot wear them with any of the shoes I used to, with the exception of stretchy athletic shoes. Maybe I'm the only one anymore who wants a sock with the warmth of real wool, that can fit a regular leather shoe, but isn't "dressy-looking."

these socks were comfortable and well made, As promised, they washed and dried well. However they were too thick for most of my shoes. They were comfy to wear around the house, but i have slippers for that. I ordered four pair and returned two. They are very pricey.

I was really hoping to like these socks, despite the cost, based on other reviews. They are warm and soft but too big. I wear a size 7 shoe and purchased size medium per the size chart. The toe area was way too big causing discomfort while wearing due to the bulky seam. I ended up giving them to my son who wears a size 9.5 shoe. They fit him much better.

Had to return these. I realized that the socks I ordered and gifted to family last Christmas were cotton. These socks are wool. Family unable to wear wool. Bring back the cotton. Everyone loved them!

I would have given these sock a 4 or 5 star rating except that they have a sewn toe instead of a flat woven toe. I find sewn toes to be uncomfortable. That said,I like them enough to wear them inside out. The merino is non-scratchy & they're a good weight. Nice & warm.

I bought these for my for my husband because the extra large was supposed to fit someone who wears a size 14 shoe. Strangely, one pair (grey) fit okay but the second pair (rose? colored) was too tight.

No longer available in 12 inch length. The 10 inch socks tend to be too short after a few washings. Definitely too short for boots. The 12 inch length is so much nicer. Please bring them back. Happy to provide the feedback.

The products have gotten thinner, and the price has doubled from the price I paid last year.
I will be shopping elsewhere next year.

I bought these back in May 2019. Some of them already have holes. Not the same quality from years ago, I suppose. And priced **$10 MORE** in just 5 months. What's up with that LL Bean? I was prepared to order, but the lower quality and higher price is not the way to maintain customer loyalty. I'll wait for a sale, plus discount for a fair price and value.

Bought these socks on someones advice for the World Scout Jamboree. These socks fit perfect. They are comfortable when you first put them on, put start to go about halfway through the day. I'm currently wearing these socks for a Scout event. I take my boots & socks off for lunch and my feet are damp because of how much they sweat. I am on my feet for hours on end at this camp, 4hrs at a time. I do wear these socks for work and have no complaints since i'm on my feet maybe 30-60 minutes then off for an hr or so. I would not recommend these socks for wearing them for extended periods of time.

I think the quality and warmth here are fine. That said, the price strikes me as high for two pairs of ordinary, solid wool socksespecially with Bean no longer offering its classic guarantee.
4 stars for quality, 2 stars for value. Let's average that to 3 stars.

My husband, for whose winter use these socks were purchased, has normally slim ankles and calves, but from the heel up these socks were FAR TOO TIGHT, and left pressure marks on his skin. This was a pity, as they would have been fine otherwise.
I don't think from the letters that appear on various firms' reviews on the internet.that he is the only person to find that men's socks are often far too tight in the leg, .....
PLEASE make the sock-legs looser! Therese Edwards - a very regular customer.
