These ragg socks are warm and comfortable for our NH winters. I like that they are not super tight around the ankle and lower legs (like the smart wool socks tend to be). They are not itchy and they wash well in the washing machine without shrinking (warm wash cycle). So, I think they are worth the price. Thank you, LLBean, for a quality product.

I purchased this 2 pack for a trip to Iceland and fell in love with the way they feel on my feet. They are very warm and comfy. Unfortunately, both pairs have developed holes in the heels after wearing them about a dozen times. This happened after I had requested them for a Christmas gift and my children purchase me another set. They are not worth the cost that we paid. I will not purchase these again.

Great quality - a favorite in our house. I've worn these socks for years. Warm and sturdy. They keep their shape after many washings.

I had high hopes for these socks, after reading the reviews. I wear size 11 women's shoes, and the size Large socks are just a little big. I prefer them that way, because I have a little edema in one leg. Tight socks are an irritant. I also have hypersensitive skin, which reacts to regular wool, Lycra, and possibly nylon. I have one pair of socks with a high merino wool and bamboo content that I can wear, but they are a bit small. The stretch nylon in these socks made them too tight for my leg, and I think that and the Lycra gave me a rash. I think they are very nice, warm socks, but I can't wear them.

Ordered large size re my size 11 feet. Found the top part of sock VERY tight and Im not a heavy person.

My mom has circulation issues with her feet leaving them cold in the winter and a lot of the popular wool brand hiking/sport socks are too tight around the calf/shin area. These worked out great for her, warm and comfy!

Best wool sweat socks ever!! Not itchy at all. I even wear them in summer, better perspiration control than cotton socks by far.

this item is so comfortable, both on the foot and on the leg. It is very durable and long lasting. These are not my first pair!! The crew style is hard to find and these are PERFECT! I love that they are thick enough for the tough jobs I do outside all year long. I even wear my LLBean wool socks in the summer time.

These socks are nice and thick. Theyre a nice addition to my winter boots or just lounging around the house. They are long so they can be cuffed or wear as is.

Got these for Xmas gifts. Dealing with New England winters these socks will come in handy The are thick and warm. Not sure about washing but feel they would be hand wash

I first tried these socks in Freeport as we were racing Hurricane Dorian toward Bar Harbor. I'd packed nothing warm for my feet. These were literally a God-send. We are Wisconsinites, and I had always used another brand of heavy ragg wool socks which were very warm but sometimes quite itchy. I have completely been won over to LL Bean's socks. I always have a stash in my closet for when I inevitably wear them out after about 2 years of almost constant wear. I have them in every color! Whether I dry them in the dryer or air dry them, they are still soft and warm. They do not bind and keep me comfortably wearing my favorite Crocs all year long. Bless you, LL Bean. PS--You used to make them in black. Any chance of bringing black back?

I love them and if they were smaller, I would keep them instead of gifting to my husband. But that would be rude, so I'll just get my own.

These socks are great in boots, slippers and as sleep socks. They are roomy but not too....warm and cozy. The perfect cool / cold weather socks.

Online, these socks look full-bodied and with plenty of cushion, but arrived appearing ironed, flat and only 4/10 cushie in the feet portion. Their picture online is misleading. With 21% stretch nylon and 2% Lycra elastane in them, I expected good stretchability, but they stretch very little. On a positive note, they are tight-knitted and most likely will be warm.

I'm updating my recent review, because I ordered two pairs of rag wool socks and now THREE of the four have holes in the heels. I've only worn them around the house for a few weeks, and they're already falling apart. Very poor quality, will not buy these again.

Great socks! They are comfortable warm and easy to put on. Bean recommends turning them inside out to wash. If you dont you wind up with loads of little fuzz balls which are impossible to remove. So, for this reason would not purchase again which is disappointing because they are very comfortable and warm.

I am an 82 year old active woman. My legs swell now during the day and these socks are not too tight like so many of my cute socks. I was concerned that they might be too itchytheyre not at all and theyre soft and comfy. Im going to always have these socks
