Very snug for the average sized man's head. While the quality was good, it's not clear whether the hat will loosen up to be comfortable. Why not have the maker come up with one for men, one for the ladies? Vive la difference.

Comfortable and warm. It seems like there is a little too much room on top but probably good if you have a lot of hair (I don't). However, I have a 7-3/8" hat size and it fits my circumference comfortably. The material is soft and not scratchy which is good for me because I have sensitive skin. My preference would be to not have the logo on the front as I have to make sure I put it on just so in order to not look silly.

Fits good, comfortable and good looking. Warm enough for less than frigid weather. Carhart similiar item has a tighter fit, but rides off head with use. More color variety would be great!

I purchased the lavender which is a wonderful color. I wear a size 7 3/8 hat and have long straight hair and though the beanie keeps my head warm and it rolls up easily in my pocket I find that as I take a long walk it starts to ride up on my head and eventually slip off! But I do have a rather large head so I suppose I'll just get used to it.

I love this hat, and the way it feels! The only sad part was the charcoal heather one I received in the mail had some white splotches on it. They aren't lint, or a part of the design, it seems like there was some bleach on it or something. Pictures attached. Overall, I love this hat, and want to buy more in different colors. I was just a little sad that LL Bean's Quality control let this one out. It's not horrible, but for the amount we pay, I'd hope for better. But again, I really love the hat itself, and definitely want to buy more in other colors.

Ordered two of these hats. One was very loose, the other very tight-- two different sizes. Just a warning for anyone else who orders one!

Pretty little hat but so tight! Seems made for a child.

Hat is comfortable and looks nice, but it's not as warm as I hoped it would be. The stretchy fabric lets the wind through a bit.

Fits kind of strange, not smooth across top of head. I removed the LLBean label, that improves the look. Pretty color, good price.

Vibrant Red is far different in color versus the online photo.

This hat is just ok it's not very warm due to the wind being able to go through the fibers.. it would have been warmer had llbean lined it with fleece.. oh well it's only used to walk the dog when it's hunting season here in New England. It's not a hat to actually keep your head warm.

Don't like to have to have the shiny LLBean logo on my head.

I bought as a gift for my boyfriend. The hat is warm but makes his forehead and ears itchy after wearing for 20 or 30 minutes. Maybe from the material? I feel it would be better without the LLBEAN label exposed on the hat. Should the label be on the front of the head or on the back like a license plate? Haha! I'm not sure, but again the hat would be better without the exposed label.

This was disappointing. The Beanie needs more elastic in the crown to provide more frigid weather comfort.

Maybe I was expecting too much, but the hat isn't as warm as i had hoped. Wearing it while walking the dog, I could feel the cold wind coming through.

I waited a long time for my new beanie to arrive since it was on back order and delayed a couple of times. Once it finally arrived I was disappointed to see that it was bigger than the previous style which fit me perfectly and stayed put. This new beanie falls off my head when I lean over. See photos for size comparison - the yellow was the older style. It may not seem like much difference but it is definitely a bummer to have the new hat fall off. And unfortunately I splurged and bought three in different colors! It also feels a bit thinner than the previous style.

Hat looked nice and felt good but was to big for my head. I tried to have more of the length in the cuff but then it looked odd.

I expected a sturdier winter hat from LL Bean. This one is lightweight and the weave is too loose, so when a cold wind blows, it goes right through it. It also fits too loosely on my head. I don't feel I'm getting any protection from the cold from this hat. Overall, a disappointing purchase. Not up to LL Bean's standards.

This hat was WAY too small it didn't fit a small adult male head and was sized for a middle school kid. Super disappointed as I gave these as presents and had ordered another color in the same style and unisex size that fit normal but this one wouldn't fit on head

This hat looks and feels like it was from the dollar store. I cannot believe LL Bean put their name on it. I'm sorry to say but their products are changing and not for the better.

There are many knit caps you might choose to buy. This 100% acrylic hat should not be one of them. The material is course, contact with the skin abrasive, and the size smallish. The nicest knit hat I own has a Katahdin Iron Works logo (see picture) and is made with a 40 gram 3M Thinsulate liner. It is soft, lightweight, and warm. I tried to purchase a second hat, but both colors were sold out. That hat was never offered again.

I wanted a warm hat that would cram into a pocket when not needed. I like these type of hats for this purpose, but they aren't that warm in any kind of wind chill. I thought maybe the $19.95 LL Beanie would do a lot better. No warmer, no better at blocking the wind, just more expensive than the $2 hat I got at a local big box store.
