I love these bags. I ordered a matching set (s/m/l) 10 years ago when my daughter was born. At the time they were customizable- meaning I could pick the canvas color, the strap color and the pocket canvas color. We have used them as diaper bags, skate and ski bags, weekend bags, purses. You name it. They are durable, washable, and sturdy. I wish the customizable option were still available- my daughter's dancing now and needs a ballet bag! I'm thinking black and pink!

I have always wondered if these bags were THAT good,and I am here to say YES YES YES!I have used this bag daily since I received it.I am a sub.teacher and it is a great bag to fit your supplies in.I carry my laptop, travel mugs, several books, extra pencils,paper etc. It is so roomy.It is made of a strong canvas and straps/zipper are strong too.You have choice of strap lengths(I got longer ones so I can carry over shoulder comfortably)and you can choose open or zip top (Mine has zip). It stands up by itself and doesn't flop over due to the strong canvas.It is not "stiff" and is very pliable. I am going to order more soon to help organize my home vs. work "stuff" I figure I can easily find which bag I need by the color handle. Would be great bag in car for emergency supplies. A great tack bag for animal supplies/feed/bowls. It is very strong!! If you are thinking about these bags-go for it. Well worth the money-will last a long, long time. I have a suggestion for LL Bean designers-it would be great if it had a pocket on front to hold keys,phone,glasses etc. Made in Maine!!! Gotta love that!

I use daily as my purse! Great for everything I need. Sturdy, zip top, with the longer handles. Wipes clean also! Plus, price is exceptional for the quality of a L.L. Bean product. Extremely happy with my purchase. Wish I had it monogramed!

I bought the large boat tote in college to carry books and computer to the library late at night. It could fit several thick science books, laptop, charger, pencil pouches, binders, water bottle, etc. The handles are so sturdy. That bag is now 6 years old and just as sturdy. I will buy these again and again (although they probably never need replacing!).

The tote was given as a gift. Upon opening the gift my niece was extremely excited. She has 2 small children and feels it will carry the essentials needed when going to the beach. Can be used zipped on unzipped.

We initially purchased a tote at a local store which has monogramming capabilities. We explained our monogramming need and the importance of having it done in a timely manner. Unfortunately the store let us down in every way. The tote arrived late (they shipped it 4 day's post purchase when we were told it would go out the next day) and the stitching was not as discussed. We contacted the store for a resolution and received nothing. Contacting LL Bean's customer care on the phone we received all the help we could ever want from the representative. She was attentive, took all necessary steps to make this situation right and could not have been more professional or caring had we asked. Overall we are happy our newborn has her very own first LL Bean tote and it is thanks to the representative on he phone.

I love this tote! LL Bean does a great job, using durable canvas with a zip top. It fits many things and looks great monogramed. The bag is so well constructed that I wouldn't hesitate to buy again and again. Bought mine with natural canvas and navy blue accents. LOVE IT!!

Our family loves these totes. About 10 years ago I bought my daughters the medium size totes with their names on them. This recent purchase was a replacement for one. My daughter wore the thing out. She used it almost everyday. She carried books to high school and college classes and then used it for work. If she went on an overnight or week end trip she packed in it. It was getting very dirty and started to wear small holes in the bottom corners. I tried to wash it but then it became too soft to stand up. I was surprised it lasted so long. Nothing lasts more that a couple of years anymore unless its an LLBean product. I purchased this new bag in the same color with the monogram but in the large size and my daughter loves it. She still carries it all the time but now it fits her laptop and her sheet music better. She can even slip a small purse inside and zip up the top and everything is secure. If this one lasts half as long as the other one I would be happy to replace it again. Now the other daughter is giving hints that she might need a new large size tote for her birthday. Also love the free shipping.

Sent this w/monogram to a daughter for her birthday. She was delighted, especially liked the zipper. As always, products are high quality -- also high priced!

I own many of these boat and tote bags. We use them to haul stuff on trips and stuff home from the grocery store. Exceptionally well made and durable. Sadly, many of LLBean's other bags, and clothing for that matter are not made in the United States. Hopefully they will catch on that this is an important issue for all of us and we want excellently made, U.S. products.

This tote is very nice quality material. The zipper is a plus!

Not only are these bags good looking and super strong, but also new parents are delighted to have the baby's name spelled out. Now they have a zipper on top so one can even check them at the airport. There's plenty of room for a visit to the grandparents.

I bought the zippered tote as a Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law. They live in Texas and bring their own shopping bags for grocery shopping. They loved the bag and thought it was a great gift. My son used the tote initially for their two-day trip to his in-laws.

I purchased a medium, zippered tote with a name inscription. It was delivered on time and the tote was as advertised. It is heavy and well made. I would recommend this without hesitation.

This bag will hold up to anything! I got the extra large and boy is it big! I use it for my art/painting supplies. I have several of these bags in different sizes and love all of them.

I purchased this boat tote for my son to use as a catchall for his daily trips to daycare. The size is great for corralling his lunchbox, diapers, hat and coat, and other essentials. The zip top is perfect for keeping other little hands from depositing items into the bag throughout the day. I know he will get a lot of use out of it for many, many years to come. Classic purchase and the quality never disappoints.

First priority - made in USA. I ordered this bag for a gift. It is such a nice bag. And I am very pleased with it. Regular length handles are a perfect length...over the shoulder or by my side.(I'm 5'2") I wish I had gotten it monogrammed with the order. I decided later to have this done locally. -It cost a lot more. So hind sight is 20/20. My advice is get it monogrammed when you order. I do have plans to buy another bag for someone else.....MONOGRAMMED. :)

Our family owns and uses at least 8 of these bags, and we use at least one of them almost every day. We were give 3 graduated size zip-top bags when our 18 year old was born. We used them to cart around all her baby gear and she's still using them to bring her stuff back and forth to college. They've been school book bags, laundry bags, grocery bags, gear haulers, luggage...you name it. I've now stolen the baby gift idea and it is my go-to gift. Maybe not as cute as a little outfit, but a lot more practical - years worth of use. I think my oldest one is 30-40 years old and it's still going strong. Highly highly recommend....and I LOVE the fact that they are still made in the USA in Maine.

I have several tote bags from LLBean. They are indestructible. I've even washed them in the washing machine. They are so strong and can hold so much. Love them.

It's a perfect back for carrying heavy items.
