This is a lovely bag. The seams on the sides show the selvage of the canvas as it comes off the bolt. The quality of a Bean bag should look more professional. This is just my opinion.

Useful tote. It might be heresy to suggest but I do wish LLBean would consider adding some interior pockets & a key fob. Something to consider

This makes two of these I have plus another three in camo...I gave it four stars because Bean refuses to make this size bag in camo...why??? You make other bags that I am sure don't sell that well but camo does...

Wish it had inside pockets instead of just a plain bag.

The tag on the tote and bot bag was different from what I payed. They credited my credit card.

Overall its really cute but i was expecting a softer texture for the actual bag.

The material is a bit too stiff and the arm hole would be better if the straps were just a smidge longer.

Nice big ol' bag. Not fancy, but will help you schlep your s*#t.

It is a major disappointment that L.L. Bean discontinued their custom color Boat and Tote bags. White is boring.

I had an bag like this from L.L. Bean made in the early 90's. However it was consumed in the fire here in So. Oregon. The old one had a vinyl bottom and the stitching was better. However, it works just fine for what I needed it for, just liked the old one better.

Like a new pair of jeans, this canvas tote needs severe pounding and scrubbing to break it in! But I love it.

Cute bag but really wish the straps were longer. The longer strap is too long but the shorter strap is too short- is this just a short girl problem?

It's roomy and comfortable to carry. I wish the fabric was soft not stiff.

Great sturdy bag, almost fits everything our family of 5 needs luckily I have the smaller tote as well. Wish it had a zipper or even just an inside pocket to hold a cell phone safely out of sand, theft etc. Overall love it and know it will last forever- the yellow is the best pop of color for summer!

I love that this bag is the same style and quality as the L size that I already have. But I feel that the M size bag should be slightly bigger than it actually is. Otherwise no regrets.

very classic and roomy but wish it had at least one side pocket. Also note its very stiff at first takes a while to work in but they last forever!

All these totes are great. Sturdy & so convenient. I just wish you still made the smaller ones. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was that I would like a smaller one. It will still get used a lot.

Sturdy, same quality as my 30 year old large totes. My old totes were showing some age, but I wish I had gotten the larger tote. I thought my old ones were the same size, but they are bigger.

I love the style and the monogramming. However for the price that is charged for the monogram it should be free over a certain price range or not as high of a price.

I have several of these bags of various sizes. They're really quite tough and useful. The latest one I got was monogrammed. The monogram was well executed. The only reason I would not rate these bags with five stars is that they are hard to clean. I often carry food in them, and when something spills, it can be painful to spot clean. I've never been brave enough to put one in the automatic washer.

Love these bags! Give the medium, long handles with monogram or name as a baby gift for all my friends and family. Would rate 5/5 stars, but giving 4 because the color options have changed LL BEAN - Can you please bring back the Pink? Or a least some feminine colors. Both my daughers have these bags (one hot pink and one a coral color) The current color selections leave me wanting better options for a baby girl gift.

Growing up in Maine and now living in New Hampshire, everyone around here has these totes. I finally treated myself to one. I even opted for the monogram, which really adds a nice touch. It feels very sturdy, and I'm confident I'll have it for many years to come. I plan to use mine as a carry-all between my vehicle and my house. I tend to use a small purse, so by the time I get home from errands I have several loose things: a stack of mail, things I bought without a bag, the dog leash, etc. Now I can toss it all in the tote along with my purse and carry it all inside easily. I really like that it stands up on it's own, so if you set it down it doesn't flop/tip over. I do have one word of caution: the sizing is misleading in my opinion. I got the Medium. The description says 12"H x 13"W x 6"D. Looking at the pictures, it seemed hard to believe it was only 13" wide; it appeared wider on the model carrying it to my eyes. When I opened it I was surprised how large it is, so I took out my measuring tape. It turns out that they're measuring the bottom inner corners, which is much narrower than the overall width. So the very bottom of the colored portion is technically 13" wide, however the width of the rest of the tote (the entire cream colored portion) is actually 18" wide. So it's a good 5 inches wider than the description makes it seem. It's almost too big for my intended use, but I'll get used to it. Hopefully this will help someone else who spent as much time as I did looking at the photos and trying to decide what size to get. Overall I'm happy with my new tote and I think this would be a great gift idea, especially with the monogram.

I am a college student and I wanted a tote that I could put some books in on the go to campus. I originally ordered the large but that was too big for my liking, the large looked more like a beach tote or maybe if you have children and need to carry a lot of things.The medium is a better size for everyday use, but I do wish it was just a tad bigger for the days when I have to bring a lot to campus with me at once. Also, I wish it had either a front pocket or some kind of inside pocket to store my phone, keys, small things etc. Other than that, it is very nice quality and I love the navy trim with my navy monogram :) The option to chose long handles is nice because I like to carry totes over my shoulder. I called customer service to do the exchange and it was very simple and not stressful at all. My new product came in earlier before the estimated delivery date. Great company!

This bag feels thinner and less structured than the one I bought for a gift last year.

I must agree with some of the other reviews. Has the material changed? The quality? The bag is thin and stiff. I have one from another company that I have had for years, and it is soft and bendable. My daughter wanted the Bean tote because it was advertised and apparently was the one going viral. I hope she likes it, but I am not pleased with it myself. I bought her the little keychain to give as a gift, because the bag was on backorder and I didn't think it would get here in time for Christmas. The little keychain feels more like what I would expect the big bag to feel like. It is the soft and thick material.
