Ever since i was a young girl growing up in Maine I remember seeing the Boat & Tote. At picnics, at the beach, dutifully waiting in my parents trunk should we need it and yes, on a boat. Now that I'm an adult going on picnics, beach trips, boats and just needing a little extra room to carry things, I new I had to get myself a Boat & Tote. When I went to purchase i was delighted to find something I'd never seen! Long handles! Since I'm often juggling many things I love to have a bag that lets me keep my hands free and the Boat & Tote does that! I've already taken it on many outings and it's even becoming my go to bag for a quick trip to the grocery store. My parents still have the big Bean bag that I remember from the trunk of their car and I'm excited knowing that I too will have this bag forever.

I received a monogrammed boat and tote for my bridal shower, 17 years ago, and am still using the same bag. The quality is amazing. Even with all the wear and tear of frequent use for 17 years it still looks brand new. My bag still looks and works as well as when I first received it. I use my bag as a pool/beach bag which means it gets almost daily use in the summer. The quality and enduring fashion statement of the boat and tote is undeniable. I have given many of these bags over the years as presents and know I will continue to do so as there is no equal.

I was so glad that I could get a present for a friend, have it monogrammed, and not only get the quality I'm used to with LL Bean, but also received in time to give to the friend for her birthday. Thank you

I have one of these totes from about 15 years ago and it's every bit as sturdy and in as great of shape as when I got it. I recently bought two more totes as gifts. They are excellent quality and will last for years!

Not a review, I am sending request. I purchase these lovely totes for all baby showers I go to. I need that pink to come back, my first 2 grand daughter have the pink, my 3rd one, I had to order through Lands'end. Pink has to come back, please. And don't go away with that baby blue. Thank you.

As boaters, we always use boat bags to bring stuff back and forth. We have Bean bags as well as some others, and can unequivocally can say the Bean bags are the best. They continue to last year after year. When the others are ready for the trash, yours just hang in there. Clearly, a better product. Delivery, when many big companies take forever to ship, and you get the feeling it is by design, Bean's shipping is fast. I had my order in three days even with basic, free shipping. Glad to see LL Bean hasn't changed a bit.

I got the small tote with the long handle -- it's just perfect! Would looove to get this same item in all black if Bean brings back customized-color totes (HINT, HINT).

I wanted a tote that was large enough for my families beach towels and accessories. There was SO much space. Sturdy and won't fall over. The kids could quickly access the items inside the tote because of the open top. I purchased the XL tote with the long strap so I could easily carry on my shoulder. I plan to use this tote for moving things back into my classroom. A reliable, classic tote!

This tote will last for years... it is so well made and stylish... heavy canvas and strong handles.. You cannot go wrong with this bag... It is so versatile!

As always, so well made. I miss the little zippered pocket inside to put my keys.

My family always had these bags growing up, and the new ones we ordered are the same great quality as ours from 30 years ago. The only difference now is that there is an option for long handles, which makes them easier to throw over your shoulder. They are perfect for everyday use (and a huge improvement over using reusable grocery bags as totes), and the monograms look great.

This tote bag is the best I've ever owned. In the last 30-40 years I've probably purchased over 30 bags either for gifts or for my own use. They are so sturdy!! I bet they can easily carry and support 50 pounds or more. They stand up on their own, so you can easily pack them. Everyone I give the totes to loves them; and the monogram option makes them even more special.

How can you go wrong with this classic? Lately I've been gifting these to use for storing golf accessories - extra tees, balls, socks, snacks, gloves, etc. The new canvas holds the bag open so it fits perfectly behind the seat in the car. Everyone loves them!

I use these for groceries and they are PERFECT. Our county implemented a Bag Tax, where they charge 5 cents per bag if you do not bring your own. The store reusable bags are fine, but not washable. I purchased two of these during Covid - one Medium and one Large to see how they'd hold up and they are wonderful for this purpose. I'm back here to purchase two more! I purchase groceries for my elderly dad, and for my own family. These totes hold an amazing amount of items, and don't get unwieldy. I love being able to wash them (hello, Covid!) and they hold their shape well, plus wash up nicely if there are any spills or stains from blueberries or whatever. I own several totes from the other company that makes similar canvas bags (initials LE) and the LL Bean ones blow those out of the water, especially as grocery bags. The 'other' totes have pockets on the inside, which just get in the way. Plus, they have a metal clip which is more of a hassle when I throw them in the washing machine. These are more pricey than the cheap reusable grocery bags at the store, but they are worth every penny. I actually think when you consider how they hold up and how many uses I've gotten out of them, plus the fact that I can throw them in the washing machine(!!) - they are an excellent deal. The Medium size is perfect for my Dad's groceries, and the long handles make it easy for him to carry. Love that they offer the option of both sizes in handles, and I personally prefer the long handles also for grocery shopping. I can't recommend these enough!!

This new bag will join a 20 year old LLBean bag on our boat. They are tough as well as beautiful. It was also a nice touch to get a signed card from the person who made this tote.

What can I say? There's no room for improvement with this LLBean staple. You just can't go wrong. Sturdy, well-made and even better with a monogram. Never change this staple!

Over the years, I have purchased approximately 25 of these bags. They are my "go to" gift for the birth of a child, monogrammed with his/her name. To say these gifts are a "hit" is an understatement. I highly recommend these canvas bags, especially monogrammed. You won't be disappointed !
