I enjoy the bering blue shirt however the color in the catalogue shows a light blue horizontal stripe and a yellow vertical stripe. What I got was a shirt with a dark blue horizontal stripe and a somewhat faded vertical yellow stripe. Buyer beware!! Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

I LIKE THE SHIRT GIVEN THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT PICTURED AS SHOWN IN THE LLB CATALOGUE. THE PICTURE SHOWS A LIGHT BLUE STRIPE WITH A YELLOW CROSS STRIPE. A CHECK PATTERN. WHAT I RECEIVED WAS A DARK BLUE STRIPE WITH HARDLY ANY YELLOW IN IT. I WILL KEEP THE SHIRT, BUT BUYER BEWARE!! OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS

The material quality is not the same has in the past. Not as smooth and does not have that finer quality cloth material fabric feel or look as is prior purchases over the years.

I love this shirt, the problem is even though I washed it on cold and hung dry it, it still shrunk. For the price I don't see the value when once again a flannel fits great the first two wears then doesnt fit properly.

I remember my Dad always had thick chamois shirts growing up...sometimes I'd wind up wrapped up in one and it was so warm and cozy. This felt like a sad adaptation. I thought with the premium price and "signature" it would be a premium grade; instead the fabric was too thin and pre-pilled. It felt cheap and not heritage. Disappointed...not gift quality.

The black shirt is perfect, high quality material and comfortable. The blue shirt is made of a completely different material. Feels cheap and stiff. It's like wearing cardboard. I own several of these shirts and never experienced this issue.

It's a quality shirt but the fit is too tight. I wish it did

I wish this was as thick as a normal chamois shirt. The fabric treatment compromises the quality and makes it feel too thin and delicate from what I'm used to in ll beam chamois shirts.

Seems like these flannels are made of lesser quality material than normal and the price hike leaves a bad taste.. I normally buy 1-2 flannels a year and I would not have purchased this without the gift card I used towards it.

I returned the Med, fitted like a Sml. The Large is ok but feels smaller than the other large sizes.

While this may be slimmer fitting than other LLBean shirts, it is not slim. If you are looking for a shirt with a little room in the waist then it's fine however I had to return it because it's just too boxy for what I wanted. I wished it had fit it seems like a great shirt that I would wear all the time.

Maybe people were shorter and stubbier in 1933 I'm some sort of mutant, apparently. The only way to get a shirt with sleeves long enough for my ape arms is to order an XL or a large tall - both of which leave me with pockets closer to my belt than my shoulders. If I don't tuck in the shirt it hangs down to mid thigh. Nothing a stapler and some duct tape can't fix

My husband absolutely loves this shirt, unfortunately, it shrunk when washed and dried so the sleeves are shorter than what he likes. I will now hang it to dry when washed.

I LOVED the pattern of this shirt (black) -- one of the coolest patterns I've ever seen -- and the quality of the fabric. It's not super soft out of the box, but it looks like it would soften up quickly through friction and washing. Unfortunately, the fit didn't work for me. The arm holes were too high, leading to a _very_ tight fit on the back. It was impossible to sit at a desk with my arms extended and type comfortably on a computer. What's doubly weird is that the chest / body is too large + baggy! It was quite drafty through the chest (I'm a 36-37" in the chest, and this was a small) - it could easily trim 1-2" from the chest circumference. I found the fit to be far less flattering than the slim fit organic cotton flannel by L.L. Bean -- the arms were a tad longer and the body was far more contoured. I really wanted to keep this shirt b/c I loved the look so much but I just found myself dreading the thought of constant tugging and chafing in the armpits. I kept the other slim flannel (even though the pattern was uglier) and ended up returning this item and going with a plain colored chamois shirt from another retailer that had a more flattering silhouette.

Sleeves way too long. Tight in the arms. Need to give the Chinese the design and enforce strict quality control instead of sourcing a plaid shirt at the lowest price. Any 2 LLBean size large shirts should have the same dimensions.

These shirts fit well & are somewhat comfortable but lack attention to quality of chamois shirt purchased from LL Bean in the past. I suppose to stay somewhat competitive decisions must be made to meet price points, it's just saddens me that a company that was for so long thought of as above others for workmanship & attention to detail has had to adopt policies to be competitive. Don't miss understand me I do see that this is the way our world operates in these times. One example of what I am talking about is the lack of any rigidity in the collar of these shirts ( I have purchased 4 of them in different colors thinking maybe it was a fluke but alas they are all the same) after washing the collars flop flat unless you iron them with a little starch. If you don't the collar just lays flat on the shoulder of the shirt & looks like a shirt of poor quality. Just my opinion of course but you did ask & so I'm being honest in my evaluation. Your shirts I owned in the past were ready to go & looked great when promptly removed from the dryer.

It's always a roll of the dice when ordering clothing on the web. According to the size chart I should be a M and this shirt is suppose to be slim fit. For a slim fit shirt there was very little taper to the shirt and the shirt balloons around the waist. It is pretty heavy weight, almost more a short jacket than a shirt. So a couple of things to note. It is decently made, heavier than I expected, the flannel does appear fluffier than plain cotton, and it is bigger around the waist than expected for a "slim fit" shirt.

Was so excited to receive this and then I opened it and saw how gigantic the buttons are. More appropriate for a women's shirt (not sure I would wear it with them either - they look ridiculous). Sent it back. Too bad. Fabric was attractive.

This is more jacket than shirt. I got the impression that is was a thinner flannel shirt. However, compared to the usual flannel this is a stiffer and heavier fabric. Not sure how it could be tucked? Would be very uncomfortably hot to wear indoors for anytime. Fit is true to size or a bit larger. It is very well made and the flannel is soft.

My husband is an athlete. He's a strength and fitness coach. He runs on his rest days. The man is buff. And hard to shop for. I love this fabric and really wanted it to work for him. I got him both the medium and large regular. He normally wears a large in other brands. The medium fit well in the waist, strained at the chest, but the forearms were ridiculously tight. Stange. The large was a loose bag at the waist, fit great at the chest and shoulders, but the forearms were still very fitted. Interestingly, the large "slimmest fit" shirt has fit best so far on his athletic frame. I will try the regular fit chamois for him next and hope he can wear this great LL Bean classic.

First off I love Bean's Signature Chamois shirts. The slimmer fit is great (I wouldn't mind if they were even slimmer), as are the various colors they offer each year. That said, specific to these plaid versions of the shirt, as others have mentioned the Chamois fabric isn't nearly as soft and brushed as the solid color versions of this same shirt. I don't know why the difference, but these would be much nicer if they were the same fabric. Also a small detail, but I'm really not a fan of the two lines of stitching across the tops of the front pockets. A clean and simple single line, again like the solid colored versions, looks much nicer of the front. In years of owning multiples of these shirts, I've never had a front pocket flap tear, especially now that they added an extra layer of fabric behind the top flaps. Other than those two things I hope they improve, these shirts are awesome and I'd highly recommend!

My brother is lean and about 5'10 he has long arms . I had bought him a tall button down flannel from LL bean last year and he loved it so I bought him two of these in tall confident he'd love the print! Since he's a hunter!! I was so frustrated when he put them on and they were both insanely short sleeved .. like for a man that's not tall at all! Had to return both and am now a little head shy to order more

Too short in the back.I will need to find a big & tall version , even though he is normally a large, I got a 2XL & that was too short. Also, there is not ample room in the arms. He is thin (6' & 210 lbs) and the XXL was not sized correctly all the way around. The craftsmanship and quality of the flannel was good, as well as the design in general.
