Initially my opinion was that the sweater looks great and is very, very warm. When I washed it there was a chemical smell when it was damp. Too, there was a shrinking issue. Most disappointing is that there is extreme pilling. By the end of the season if the pilling continues the sweater will be threadbare. I most likely will return the sweater.

Very disappointed. For the price and brand I figured this would be a thick, warm addition to my husband's closet as we just moved to NY and need warm items. He'd have to wear something under it on even a barely chilly day. When held up you can see the holes in the knitting! For the price it should not be see through. It's pretty, don't get me wrong, but not even close to the quality I was expecting from LL Bean. We are returning

The sweater they gave me is cotton and i had to re order 3 separate times because they kept putting my order in at the wrong size even though i'm pretty curtain i pressed medium.

Hopeful sweater. This is second time of ordering this sweater and size. I'm xxlt and this is on the short size in arm length not up to my wrist. This is also the second time ordering this and there are snags in the whole or stitching defects around the arm to body. I ordered a blue one also and did not have these quality issues. The xxxlt fit like an xxlt should.

Everything I buy at LL Bean is a men's large, or slightly fitted large. This sweater fits like a glove. Skintight is not what I was looking for.

Returned product - which is a bummer because I wanted to like it. Bought a Large Tall. The body was way too long and the sleeves fit like standard sizing (too short).

Very scratchy wool sweater. For the price, I was expecting a softer higher quality wool. Had to return.

I bought a long and the sleeves were like a 3/4 sleeve. That's ridiculous.

Did not fit properly. Going to exchange it for next size up.

before i even wore it for the first time i noticed a ravel in the sleeve knit Like the shammy shirts. just not the heavy quality of the older LLBean clothing

I've been using Bean's size XXL Tall for years and years, and it's always worked well. Until now. Too small, both in length and breadth.

The fit wasn't right for me. Too high around tge neck. Other than that, I liked the sweater. I just knew I wouldn't wear it due to the high, tight collar

Too scratchy & too thin. Thread is maroon and brown; not what I expected. I'll look for a different wool sweater from LLBean; this is just not the one for my needs.

I bought two of these--a M for my son (5'11", slim maybe 160 #) and a S for myself (female, 5'4", 140 #). We both are very happy with the sweaters. There are green fibers in the navy sweater that look very smart. I ordered one for myself because I couldn't find a wool sweater for females that I liked as well . I am narrow shoulder-ed but the sweater still fits well. And we agree that they are very warm and breath-able!!

Sadly, I will be returning it. It runs very large and my husband doesn't like wool. So I'll have to look for a different Christmas present. But I do love LL Bean and will continue to be a customer there.

is it made in the USA or is it made else where for american market ?, RUNS SMALL BUTTONs are cheap plastic, longing for the GOOD OLD days when jackets, sweaters quality are of the kind that were made in the US of A

First thing is first - I am not sure if the quality has changed over the past year, but I received this quarter zip sweater for Christmas in December 2020. It has been almost a year and I am wearing it for the second time today. Second, I have to explain my build. I am quite short - only 5'6" - with a built upper body. Large chest, broad shoulders; picture an upside down triangle as my waist is smaller than my top. Please keep this in mind as perhaps my complaints are because of my awkward body type. *cries in frustration* My brother gave me this sweater in medium (gray). The sweater fits my broad shoulders and chest better than I expected; it does not feel tight, even when I have my shoulders resting back in the good posture position. However, the sweater is so dang short! I legit feel like I'm wearing a crop top half the time. I mean, when I relax my shoulders, the sweater rests above the belt. Not far above the belt, but it should not be there at all. Again, I am short so I am very surprised that there are not more people complaining about this. After Christmas in December 2020, I tried this sweater on and noticed this issue. I figured maybe I need to lose weight or something because I tend to fluctuate. I have tried it on multiple times over the past year with the same issue. I finally wore it today and it just isn't something that I can get by. Very disappointed. Maybe my sweater is faulty or something. I don't know, but I won't be able to buy any more from LL Bean until I know they will fit me.

I've been ordering from L.L. Bean for 20 years and the quality of your merchandise has gone way down I was disappointed in the sweater and the house coat

I have bought several of these sweaters over the last decade. But this current design has a collar that looks silly. The collar narrows down in the front and just doesnt look nice. Waiting for next years design.

Both the original and replacement ripped through after only a few wears. Not durable at all.

I bought this sweater for my husband for Christmas. He has only worn it twice. I have not washed it yet and it has pilled really bad. He teaches school for a living so it isn't like he has been rough on it. I have always had good luck with sweaters from LL Bean, but I am very disappointed with this purchase.

Unfortunately the sweater arrived with a significant flaw. The yarn was cut near the shoulder. The desired size and color was no longer available. In fact, there were very few available in XL in any color. We had to size up and be satisfied with a less desirable color. I suppose it's always a challenge to predict supply and demand, but we were disappointed not to get the sweater we had hoped for.

material was scratchy. Did not feel good against the skin.

Beautiful sweater but smelled so musty I must return. Too bad, it would've been a great gift. Sweater is quite heavy, would be so nice & warm this winter. Another sweater I purchased from LL Bean was fine but this one must have sat too long somewhere and I couldn't get rid of the odor by just airing out of the bag.
