This long sleeve top provided plenty of warmth under a light puffy for resort skiing on a 25 deg F day. I imagine this top will provide sufficient warmth for sub-10 deg F skiing when paired with a mid-layer and/or shell. I really like the fit, especially in the arms, as I have longer arms and many long sleeves don't reach my wrists. I like how BO washes out of Merino better than synthetics, although for me the 85% Merino retains more odor than 100%.

I've worn this around the house, on runs, on my bike, and while out and about on cold days. It's super soft and toasty warm. The fit is perfect so it's easy to layer or on its own.

Could not be happier with this - or these, since I got two of em. Already worn it multiple times-for trail running, fly fishing, biking and it's been ideal for each activity. The fit is spot on - 5'9", 150 medium - it's super soft and it offers the perfect amount of unrestricted warmth.

I just bought two more of these. After having purchased one last winter, I think I wore it every day.

I suppose this shirt may be fine if you only plan to wear it beneath more durable clothes, but you can't also wear it as a normal, outer-layer shirt, as it'll deteriorate fast.

A bit itchy for me. I bought it for a trip and returned it with no problem. Waiting for the credit to appear on my card.

Light weight base layer will likely serve me well but the price is a bit high. There are other options that will provide the same level of insulation that cost less.

I've had this product before and it is excellent. The problem this time is that the product never came. It became "lost" in the fedex delivery pipeline and it was up to me to figure that out. I even received review requests from Smartwool asking if I was enjoying my new top. Bottom line: Smartwool can't give an item to FedEx and then just forget about it. I finally canceled the order after it was several days late.

It was too light weight for me. I was looking for something with more insulating qualities. I have enjoyed the old smart wool 250 1/4 zip. I am hoping for similar qualities for this to be made in the future. .

Fits well and is comfortable. Unfortunately, item pilled and snagged easily on first wear. Smartwool classifies this as 'standard wear and tear'. Considering this is an outdoor product, I'll be looking for more durable options in the future.

As a long-time fan of Smartwool and owner of countless pieces, I was incredibly disappointed with this amazing shirt. The fitting was spot on, with the soft merino wool making it feel and function that much better. My ONLY major issue was how easily it wore thin, as seen in the attached pictures. The front also wore through with what looks like mild abrasion from my belt during long hikes. While I understand that quality can sometimes vary, I expected better from a brand I've consistently trusted. I hope this feedback is considered for future product development. Smartwool will be me go-to choice for my hiking adventures, it always outperforms countless other brands I've tried. I'm just disappointed that I will soon have to retire this treasure! Many memories on the El Camino De santiago!!

I've purchased these base layers for over 10 years now. While I have enjoyed wearing them, there is a quality issue that I have experienced. They eventually tear out in the sleeves, back and front. I am not rough on them or wear them in environments that are harsh. This has happened multiple times. Thus the reason for this review.

I like the thickness. What I don't like is that the sleeves aren't symmetrical. One sleeve is bigger at the opening. That same sleeve's seam lays in a weird spot on my wrist and it's irritating my skin.

I bought this product and I wore it two different days before washing it. After one wash and low dry, the nice green color faded and the shirt shrank.

The blending of different fabrics makes a great sweater. However, it is too boxy. This sweater should come in a slim fit. Unfortunately, returned it due to sizing.

It feels rough on my skin and causes itching when I try them on. Unlike Uniqlo HeatTech base layers, which feel smooth and comfortable, the Smartwool merino pieces marketed as exceptionally soft and comfortable do not feel that way for me. Perhaps this is due to my own skin sensitivity, as mentioned by the support team. Still, it's disappointing after spending hundreds and having them shipped to Singapore, only to end up having to give them away or not use them at all.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
We love these shirts. But we ordered the one that is blue with black sleeves on the image but the actual shirt is just solid black. We are keeping it because it’s too much trouble to return it and it will get used. But we really wanted the color in the picture.

I know this product is a quality baselayer, but I've been waiting 15 days for a partial refund of the price due to a malfunction in Smartwool's website that would not process a 30% discount. At the moment, I have little faith Smartwool will fix this issue immediately and will be returning the baselayer and purchase from another merino wool brand.

I know they added nylon to cut cost and make it more durable, but it has made this top so itchy I can't wear it

I have purchased 5 of these tops in the last 3 years and so far 3 of them have holed out with only light use during the winter. Put in a claim for the first one and after a month finally received a credit for the purchase price. Guarantee policy is too convoluted.
