I had to return for a pair 2 sizes smaller!! Now with the right size I love them . . . great to slip on and off quickly for outside tasks. Soles have good traction.

Even with 2 pairs of ragg socks, I walk out of these. Tried sole and heel pads too. Why don't they make a smaller size? I'm a ladies 6. They are the perfect dog walking shoe, for walking through wet grass, or on a beach trail. I have to return both pairs as I can't walk in them with this much slop in the fit. Very upset to lose them. PLEASE MAKE IN SMALL SIZES (4-5).

I love the navy and pink color combination! These do run large. I am a 7 1/2 and ordered an 8 that I had to return for the 7. This is the 2nd LL Bean pair I have owned. The other pair was at least 25 years old.

These were comfortable enough, and true to size in length, but too narrow. So, I had to return them.

I normally wear a size 9 running shoe and 8.5 regular shoes. I thought that ordering a size 8 in these mocs would be fine because I had read that they run a little big. The size 8 mocs arrived in a timely fashion, but they were HUGE. Even when I tightened up the laces and put on thick socks, my heels were slipping out of them every time I took a step. I ended up sending an exchange for the size 7 mocs, which fit much better - they're a bit snug with thick socks, but at least my foot isn't slipping out of them! Also, while LLBean offers free shipping one way, if you send back shoes, even as an EXCHANGE (not just a return) they charge you the shipping on the way back. I understand paying for the shipping if I returned the mocs, but I just wanted and exchange, so I was a bit surprised and frustrated that I was charged that return shipping for an exchange.

I love the ladies Mocs, but they run LARGE. I always wear a 9 in ladies shoes and ordered a 9 in the ladies Mocs, but even with medium weight socks, they are big on my foot. I was hesitant to return them for a size 8 as that just seems too small. I bought a pair of Dr Scholl's inserts and that helped with the medium weight socks, but I live in SW FL and want these Mocs for the wet, wet summer - and to be able to slip on without socks. I'll keep them and find a purpose for them though.

These mocs are very well made, good quality. I have two pairs that are over 10 years old with much daily wear .I ordered a new pair But so far i have had to return 3 pairs because of sizing. So please, beware, order " down "in size & if you have narrow feet, do not get medium, they are not true to size even with the socks LLBeans suggest. have always been pleased with all of LLBeans products but not these mocs, only regarding the size.

I love the LL Bean rubber mocs because I wear them all year round outside - in the garden and the snow, however, these mocs were too large for me. When I returned them, the size I needed was no longer available so I had to purchase another color. If you're looking to purchase these mocs, try a size smaller than you normally wear. LL Bean is great when you have to return items, so my new mods were delivered within a week. Woo Hoo

I just slip my feet in my shoes and away I go. Not to mention no wet feet by walking into work, or shopping at the malls. When I wore my sneakers in the rain, it made for an uncomfortable day with snoggy feet. The only thing that bothers me is one shoe at the toes is tighter than the other causing the side of my big toe to hurt & ache. Perhaps I have a bunion. So I took out the inserts and replaced them with a thinner type. Also, I stuffed the biggest pair of balled up socks I could fine in the toes, in effort to stretch it out. I hope this method works, otherwise I might have to return them. I would welcome any other ideas.

I love these for the waterproof aspect and the comfort and the look. The sizing is a problem though. I usually wear an 8 1/2 so I ordered a size 7 as the instructions recommended. The 7 was still too big with medium weight socks! Had to return them. I did not exchange for a 6 because I didn't want to pay for additional return shipping if those didn't work either.

I have a size 6 foot. The sales lady warned me the size 6 shoes would be too large. And they were. Even with very thick socks, the shoes slid up and down on my heels. They are great shoes but I had to return them. I wish they came in a smaller size!

So these shoes, we're packed and ready for return. I ordered one size down and lengthwise they were great. But the back half was way way too wide! Since what I wanted was a waterproof shoe I could just slip on and go (ugh 5:30 dog walk), mostly with bare feet, adding heavy sox was not a consideration. But took one more final try and noticed that the laces were not just for show! I was able adjust them to fit. The are really cute and comfortable.

Bought a pair of women's 6W mocs. Great shoes, excellent quality. However, the size 6 is still too big for me to wear, even with a pair of heavier socks. I normally take a 6.5 wide in shoes. I was hoping these would be ok. Had to return them. I would buy another pair if they could be made in a women's size 5. I'm sure I'm not the only one with smaller feet. I'd probably buy more than one color too. Any chance that could happen??

they looked well made. I wear a 9 1/2. The nine was way large and I had 1/2 in of room at the back of my heel, so they flopped. The eight was to small and hurt my toe. Wish they had half sizes. I would order if they did. Had to send both back. I don't like the return fee.

Been looking forward to getting these but am going to have to send back for a smaller size. I normally wear an 8 1/2W - 9M but, after reading other reviews, ordered an 8W. This was still too big! I walked out of the shoes. Going to try an 8M next. L.L. Bean has such a good return policy, I'm going to keep trying until I get a pair that fits.

Ordered as directed ....i wear size 7 and I ordered size 6. The fit was just right; however, I have a narrow heel and it rubbed a bit so I've decided to return them for the lace up, shorter boot version of these.

To be honest, I ordered these for my husband. He wears a size Mens 7 and when I ordered that and they came in they were WAY TO BIG, even with thick socks they were unwearable. So, we shipped them back and had to order a Womens 8 (That becomes a Mens 6), yes that is how big these little guys fit! They are the same shoes as the Mens so there is no shame in getting the Womens, really the fit, colors and style all the same. The return was very fast (just took forever for UPS to get them) and the credit applies quickly. I love LL Bean and love the customer reviews....I should have listened to everyone when they said order a FULL SIZE DOWN...but I thought that was too extreme. NOPE! Order 1 full size down! Other then that they are great and he wears them everyday and everywhere here it CT! I recommend highly!

Shoes are great. They DO run large. Had to return them and order size smaller. There was a 2 thumb width space in the size I normally wear. should have listened to reviews..now have to pay shipping to return them.

I usually fit a size 11 Women's shoe -- but I read that they were large - so I ordered a size 10. When I received the size 10 they were STILL too big! So, I had to pay for the return and had them send a size 9! And that worked!! I am surprised their sizes are THAT far off!! But it is a GREAT boot!!

I purchased these shoes a month ago. They are very well made, stylish, and seem durable. However, like previous reviewers have stated, these shoes run very large. I did order the wide width because I have very wide feet. I also went down one full size. They are still HUGE! Even with socks they feel loose. 90% of the time I have the opposite problem, and even wide width shoes are just barely wide enough. These are truly WIDE width. If you are borderline between normal and wide width feet, I'd stick with normal when ordering. I'm too lazy to return, so I'll just deal with it. You can't really tighten them with the laces. Guess I'll be layering socks!

I had a pair of these shoes in navy blue many, many years ago. I loved them because they kept my feet dry. These rubber mocs I'm sure would keep my feet dry too. However, they were too big. Huge. I wear between 8 1/2 & 9. When I order shoes from LL Bean, I always go down a half size. I ordered these in a size 8 and I don't think a 7 1/2 would do they were that big. (that's why 4 stars) Rather than risk having to return them again, I decided to send back the size 8 and not order another. I ordered a pair of rubber flats and hopefully they will fit me and keep me dry on rainy days. If not, I give up on ordering shoes online. I'll be shopping in the LLBean outlet in Wareham, MA in June when we come to the Cape and maybe will find something that fits my hard to fit feet. Love LLBean!

I ordered my usual size 11, and they were too large. I re-ordered a 10 and the left one was slightly bigger than the right one. I had to return them again. I was sad to do this as they were very pretty and well made. The green and navy are a great combination.

great shoe and especially love that they come in narrow, however, I had to return them because the 9 is too short and the 10 is too big. I'm a true 9.5 and these would be the perfect shoe if they made them in half sizes! So sad to have to return them, as it's a rainy Spring and I'd love to wear them everyday!

I'm always somewhat skeptical about ordering shoes because of the sizing. The catalog gave an example but to be on the safe side I ordered both a size 8 and a size 9. Well, I should have followed the example in the book because the size 8 fit but is a little large through the heel (I'll just wear extra heavy socks). The size 9 was way too big. The return process was simple. Can't wait for the rainy season. However, I did wear them out shopping with jeans and they were very comfortable. To my surprise, they have arch supports.

The quality of these booties is excellent. However, they are huge! I wear a womens size 11 and they were probably more like a 12 and a half! I had to return and get a size 10. My feet still move around even in the size 10. A 9 1/2 would probably be perfect but they don't come in half sizes. Now, when I got the booties there was an insert in the box saying that these are meant to be worn with heavy socks. I don't recall seeing that in the item description but perhaps I missed it. Anyways, that is why apparently they are so big. I never wear socks, even in the dead of winter, so they were completely unwearable in the 11. I am keeping them in the size 10 but I can't really wear them as I intended which was to throw them on and wear them everywhere on errends etc. Instead I'll just wear them to take the dog out in the yard or to feed the birds. Otherwise, I'll have to actually put socks on (yuck) in order to get use out of them.
