Attractive and well made, I wear a 10M(B) shoe, ordered a 9M(B) which was perfect in length but too wide in the heel. Reordered a 9 Narrow(AA)- better but I was still walking out of the shoe. Sorry had to return.

I wanted a comfy shoe that I could easily take on and off for taking the dog outside to do her business, as well as wear with jeans for a cute, casual look. I read all of the reviews about sizing first. I also wear birkenstocks, so thought that maybe these boots were similar to those in their sizing. For my birks, I buy them in narrow. So I ordered these in narrow, size eight, which is my usual shoe size. They fit great in the width, but flipped up on the back of my heel. I tried various types of socks and nothing really changed the flipping heel problem. I was so disappointed to play the return and exchange game. So I called and talked to a customer service representative and I explained my thinking and the problem at hand. I reordered a size seven, medium width and they fit very well. With thinner socks there is slight heel flipping, but none with thick socks. I wore these boots yesterday with a thinner sock and didn't even notice the heel issue, so it's not a problem. My adult daughter complemented me twice on how cute these were. Bottom line, order a size down, like all of the other reviews say!

These boots seemed to be good quality, but were MUCH too wide for my narrow foot. Definitely not a narrow width. Had to return them.

I was so disappointed that these were so big. I ordered a size 8 as I usually wear a size 9, they were huge on me. When I called for assistance in an exchange I was told it would be best to go by the reviews posted on your website. I did not exchange, just returned for refund. Disappointed as it took me a long time to decide to spend that much on cute rain boots. I rated 4 stars because they are a great quality.

Love the boots.Only problem is I ordered my usual 7 wide. Too Big. Returned for the 7 medium. Now width okay, but actual boot wayyy to big. I don't know what to do? Send back? Or return for a 6.5? 6? Other than that great product. Wish I could figure out what to do :(

I like the rain shoes, but regret not buying the 6 inch boots instead. The shoes are still big despite wearing thick socks and buying a size down. They are hard to tie because of the single rawhide lace that goes all the way around the shoe. I think the difficulties I am experiencing would be eliminated if I had the boots. I wish I could exchange them now, but I had to wear them a couple of times already.

Extremely pleased with the service experience at LLBean. Product availability was superb and shipping was what I expected. The con is that size that was ordered and the next size up were both to big or better said left space in the heel which created a slippery affect. Maybe it was just batch of shoe perhaps something would be available down the road. Thanks for the great service!!!

Very nice boots and well made. Although I rated these true to size, which they were, the heel area runs to loose. My heel would slip even withh a heavier sock. I read the reviews but figured I mite be able to work with it. Sadly even if I tightened the lace from the sides there was to much movement. I loved them but somehow they need to be made narrower in the heel area. Had to return.

Bought size 8D as I normally wear size 8.5D. WAY too large, had to return pair for size 7D, as suggested by customer service rep. It should be clearly and repeatedly stated online that customer needs to buy 1.5 sizes smaller than usual. I question why isn't this product sized appropriately to actual sizes. I like the boots, particularly in wet weather.

So excited to get my mocs. Quality and craftsmanship is perfection. Style is wonderful and iconic. Fit perfectly with one major exception. They were entirely too long. About 1.5" gap from my heel to the heel of the shoe. How odd. I've never had a foot "issue" before with any type of outdoor footwear. Had to return with apparently no hope of having a highly coveted pair of mocs. If I did not have this issue, it would definitely be five stars for this moc.

I ordered a pair to replace my very old ones that have been my go to garden shoe for years. My usual size was huge. I understand they changed their sizing years ago. They no longer make the size 5 (which is actually a 6) in navy. I had to return the shoe. I have tried to buy their adorable rain boots also, but too big. I hope they make a batch of smaller sizes, not everyone needs a huge shoe.

Not happy with your new return policy. Cannot imagine anyone saving their receipt (and packaging?) for a year. If I returned your mocs, it would be immediate due to fit, etc., but if, say in a month or so,they developed a leak or a split of some sort, I sure would not have a receipt. The product is the best!

I'm a size 8 with a regular width but finally ended up with a 6 wide to get the right fit. Customer service was very good about the exchange.

These are great easy-on, easy-off shoes for tramping around on sloppy wet ground. However, Bean's recent re-design of the sizing has left it very difficult to figure out how to get a good fit, especially if you don't have access to a physical Bean store and have to rely on mail-order. I got these to replace a 25-year-old pair and, even though I followed the published advice to buy a size down, took a couple of tries before I finally got a reasonably-fitting pair. (And they're still not close in fit to my old ones.) The toes are still a little long, and the heel is quite loose. They're great for walking the dog and short trips, but I wouldn't want to have to walk long distances in them. (I'm investigating heel guards.) It's a shame Bean doesn't make this style in Kids' sizes, as I probably would have had better luck there. (I wear a women's size 7-7.5, ended up with a 6, and they're still pretty roomy.) Reading through other reviews, many others have had similar experiences. Suggestions to Bean: (1) Re-label the sizing on this line so that they are true to size, like you're other footwear. (2) Waive return shipping fees for the Bean Boot line, since it looks like hardly anyone gets it right the first time. (3) Make this style available in Kids' size ranges, so that those of us with smaller feet have an option for buying them. All that said, though, once you get the sizing figured out, they're very useful outdoor shoes.

These run huge. I normally wear a 7 to 7.5, I ordered these in a 6, after reading they run very large. They are HUGE, no way can I make these work. I'm bummed because they are really great quality, and also have the look (I ordered navy) I wanted, very cute. They did include a return shipping label, so that is good. I really wish they would have worked, they are very nice mocs.

In terms of quality, this is a 5 star shoe. It's a quality, made-in-the US rain shoe and I love it. The knobby sole gives traction on wet slippery grass and wet brick walkways. The rubber and leather and well made and the stitching is solid. It even manages to somehow be kinda cute in a clunky sort of way. I bought the shoes to get me through our rainy Georgia Autumn and Spring when parking lots at work and shopping can be sheeted with water. Also slipped them on for tromping around the yard this Spring pulling weeds and doing a little gardening. I was a little concerned that the rubber top would be hot in this weather, but so far that isn't a problem. As far as the fitting process, buying this shoe is a 3 to 4 star experience. Following the recommendations on the website and also the recommendation of a customer service rep that I spoke to before ordering the first pair of shoes, I ordered l l/2 sizes down -- from my usual 8 l/2M sports shoe to a a 7M in this. It was way to short, though the width in the heel was fine. I sent them back and got a size 8M, which is fine in the length, though now they're a little wide in the heel. I know the shoe is supposed to fit a little loose and fit the best with heavy weight socks, so I'm not expecting a dress shoe or sports shoe fit with these. If I had to order again, I'd try an 8N instead. But having paid return shipping on one pair, I'm not ready to pay return shipping on another. Many years ago, LLBean used to offer a fitting service for the Bean Boots where you would draw and outline of your foot with the type of sock you intended to wear with the shoe. I imagine it would be too expensive to offer that again, even if someone were willing to pay additional for that service. But I wish the suggestions on the website for selecting the size were better. For many ordering l l/2 sizes down means a too-short shoe; LLBean needs to address that problem.

I'm SO DISAPPOINTED, have wanted these for so long and finally ordered. I wear perfect 6M and ordered that, they are gigantic. Even with my thickest winter sox I walk out of them. I was planning to order the fleecelined boots this fall but notice that 6 is the smallest they make so I guess they will be too large also. These mocs are adorable so cute, easy to get on and off. Can BEAN make a size 5 in their wonderful boots? I would buy them for sure. I deducted one star for sizing, otherwise I LOVE THEM and hate having to return.

I'm an average width 9.5...occasionally can fit a 9 if it is an open sandal type shoe or a 10 if it is a boot or ballet flat with only a little room at toe. Slightly narrow heel but have never purchased a narrow shoe. Bought these in the lowest boot version back in college in 1992 and LOVED them for years but went on a cleaning binge and gave them to goodwill abt 10 yrs ago. Have regretted it ever since. Finally decided to repurchase the normal width size 8 moccasin version. Received them quickly (5 days?), good in length (was worried abt but it is fine) but they are so wide my foot flips and flops like a flip flop. Hoping I can find an insert so I don't have to return but feel like I'll probably need the narrow. The lowest boot version did not fit like this yrs ago...back then the regular 8 fit fine with socks. The laces probably helped make that one tighter? The moccasin does't seem very adjustable w the laces.

I should have read the note about ordering one size down from your regular size and I would have avoided having to return them for the correct size. Ordered 9W which is my usual shoe size. Width was great but the length was too long. So be aware before you buy. Otherwise the shoes are great.

These are really nice! The quality and comfort are good except for the heel - it is way too big. Even added wool socks and it still slipped up and down. The outsole is awesome. I am so disappointed but they must go back. First time I've had this problem so the heel is extra large compared to average shoes. I usually wear a 7.5 M.

I LOVE this moc. However, the fit was a little off. I wear a size 7, instructions said to order a size down (6). The six was too small-will have to return. Still love the product.

Great boots for rain, but since I live in a temperate climate and knew these ran big, I ordered a size smaller. I needed TWO sizes smaller because I'm wearing them without super bulky socks. These are really, actually huge. I wear an 8 and needed a 6. And order way early. I wanted them for Christmas, got them in March, and now need to return them for a smaller size and won't get them until May. Really, really hope the 6 fits, since I've waited 6 months to get these.
