A bit too wide to be comfy..look very wide...feels like I'm wearing shoeshoes...feet hurt at the end of wearing...not happy with these . Keeping them as a "second" choice for a whole day of use.

I had a pair of LL Bean shoes they wore out so I ordered these. I am so disappointed the contouring in the inside of this shoe causes it hard to keep your balance. I thought if I wore them for a few weeks I would get use to them unfortunately that was the not the case. Last week I turned around and lost my balance and fell straight to the cement ground. I was hurt and still am recovering from the fall. I will not be wearing these shoes again.

These shoes were very stiff and dug into my foot - especially around the tongue. I could not walk even a few steps without pain. I am returning them and will stick with my old faithful brand - New Balance.

This shoe may be okay for sightseeing or for walking the local box store, but it is a dud for distance/speed/exercise walking. They feel like my oldest pair of running/walking shoes at the point when I throw them out or retire them for gardening only. worn out and causing calf pain, knee pain, that is, pushing a shoe beyond its life expectancy. I really labor in these rather than enjoy my walk. Will return.

I couldn't believe I could get a fitness walking shoe for the price (was on sale). I should have known better. The test of a good fitness walking shoe is no leg or foot fatigue and no ankle, knee or hip pain. It takes a good week or so before these symptoms appear, and appear they did. Even with a special insole I had foot and leg fatigue and knee and hip discomfort. Fitness walking is the 4 - 5 miles I walk everyday. These shoe are not up to the task.

These shoes were lovely and I hated to return them. However, the insole was stiff, unforgiving and uncomfortable on my feet. I need arch support but these insoles had no give.

I've been very happy with LLBean boots and shoes in the past. This style is cut higher than normal at the heel and at the top of the foot. I think this would work if you are tall, but, at just 5 feet these rub in both places. I returned them and will look for a more classic shoe.

I walk four and a half miles a day in about an hour. The second time I wore these shoes I developed a large, painful blister on my right heel. Six days later I ended up with a cut on the back of my left heel. I'm also developing a callus on my pinky toe, which never happens when wearing other shoes.
I have never had a problem with the quality of an L.L. Bean product before. I have been a customer for about 10 years. Everything has always been superior quality, which is why I am so surprised by these shoes.
Based on the other reviews, I think these are designed for people who stand on their feet or walk at work a significant portion of their day.
But if you are buying these for power walks, I can't recommend these. Go for the New Balance 877 walking shoes. These are phenomenal and last me a year, even with the punishment I give them.
