I still wear my PXL and Reg L jackets from Bean. But this jacket in XL did not work for me at all. The sleeves were very long, and the jacket was not roomy enough in the chest. I wanted a bone colored jacket, but this color and style were not my taste. My orders usually work out, but this time it was not even close to working.

This was just not flattering. I ordered a petite medium and it was not petite at all. The overall cut was very boxy, the sleeves were too long, and it hit at a really odd unflattering area right across my bum. I also didn't like the material - it wasn't soft.

Jacket feels and sounds like flexible styrofoam. Stiff and kind of crunchy. After one wash, no change. I think I'm done buying jackets made from polyester fleece & similar synthetics. Just wish there were more options in natural fibers, or even blends like poly/cotton. Where did all the old thicker cotton sweatshirt fabric go?
I'm not a happy customer.

I had to return this. I wear size 8/10 and a M was huge on me, especially strangely long. I would size down for sure. The blue was also not very flattering.

Nice material for a jacket, but it was coat length- waay too long in my opinion. I returned it.

The jacket ran small. The fleece did not have a soft feel to it. And the seam across the back grabs your shirts. This item is lacking in overall quality and feel compared to my old L L Bean windproof fleece jacket.

Not awesome. The color is awful, not beige or yellow. Just looks dirty. Boxy and huge, itchy and cheap feeling. What a huge bummer.

This is stiff, not very warm and very boxy. When i couldn't fit in my suitcase on the way home, i left it in the hotel....not worth fighting for.

Very disappointed with Women's Mountain Classic jacket. It was made out of very thick stiff fabric I ordered a petite large/ it was very large in. the shoulder area and snug at the waist. I returned this jacket.

I wanted to love this jacket, but it was too small in the chest and shoulders and then too big for me in the waist. I ordered the xs, I could have sized up but instead I returned it because I just didn't love the style on me. Although I felt it was well made trying it on. Sadly I returned this jacket.

Had to return it. Material was too stiff and the sleeves are too narrow for a comfortable fit with a long sleeve top.

I returned this because even though I ordered a size up per reviews this has very narrow sleeves. The only way I could get my arms into it was without a top on under it & I do not have large muscular arms. I also feel across the shoulders might be narrow also. Since it is a jacket this won't work & I felt ordering another size up would not solve the problem. It is too bad because I love the style, color & liked the idea it is windproof.

I wear a large in all LL Bean tops, but this jacket was too small to zip up in a size large. It should have fit, according to the size chart, but I had to return it.

Loved the jacket but had no roominess around lower half. And no "give". I am not that big below the waist. Style is straight down. Would recommend to a slim, well-proportioned woman.

I was eager to receive this jacket, but was sorely disappointed once I saw it and tried it on. The color I ordered -- taupe brown/gray birch -- is nothing like pictured or described. The main part of the jacket is a kind of drab, dirty gray, with some brown undertones. The taupe is also not as pictured. Overall, the color makes me look like a corpse. The description says its "slightly fitted." I would say it's more than slightly fitted, enough to make it feel constricting (though I am tall and thin); and the sleeves are just a bit too short to be comfortable. I considered reordering in another color, but I also think this jacket is considerably overpriced, so I won't bother.

This is a fine jacket in many ways but I will return it. Viewed from the back, it makes hips look wider since it stops at the widest part of the hip. Plus, If it is cold I want my whole torso to be warm.

Stiff, almost itchy! I washed and followed instructions. Did not use fabric softener (per instructions), but just washing did not make it feel broken in. I'm trying to like it, but not having much luck.

This jacket runs a full size smaller than all of LL Bean's other jackets. It is stiff, but performs excellent in the wind and does keep me warm. It just runs way too small, which was a huge disappointment.

It was not attractive on me at all and it did not feel right on my frame. I also hate the obvious LLBean tag on the front of the jacket. I don't like to wear labels. I do love the Bean pima tee shirts.

I rated this jacket a 2 star because of the fit. I usually wear an X- large to fit my broad shoulders and long arms. It fit those areas but was so tight across the chest. We'll made and nice quality. Had to return.

I found this jacket attractive, so I bought a medium size for my wife (her weight is in proportion to her height, and medium is her typical size). The jacket was too small through the chest (she's not a bosomy woman), but the sleeves were the right length. I replaced the medium with large. The large fit through the chest but the sleeves were too long.
The LL Bean product quality was excellent, but the sizing was off.

I wanted this for cool weather hiking... but too uncomfortable of a fit around hips. It also was very stiff and bulky . It might be ok for running errands but certainly not for active endeavors . Sending it back... and the search continues....

It's too small in some areas and too large in others. The upper arms are too constricting to put layers under it, so in that respect it doesn't function real well as an outer layer. The body is too long and the sleeves are too long to use it as a mid layer so it kind of misses the mark that previous windstopper fleece achieved so well. I wish they would hang on to good old designs or test their new products on older people with a lot of LLBean stuff like me. Though I don't usually wear petites, I'm going to send it back and try a petite even though the upper sleeve circumference will probably be too small on that also.

I did not think this was particularly flattering to my short round body. It also was too hot the moment I tried it on, and as I recall, I had difficulty with the zipper. I thought "If I've had this on for about a minute and am already too warm, it's not going to breathe well."
