The jacket is comfortable and I can prevent cold air from entering from below with the cinching cords. The zipper seems quite sturdy. However the pockets are fairly small. I need to ball my fists to get them seated in the pockets. In my experience, this appears to be the norm for women's clothing.

Ended up having to replace my prior L.L. Bean winter coat that I had for years. This coat is pretty warm and when the hood is up, it's up. It pretty windy here so this is great on winter days. I do, however wish the pockets were a little bit deeper other than that it's a great buy.

I absolutely loved this jacket and wanted to keep it but the pockets were just too small. The pockets are too small for my phone to stay in it. My phone fell out more than once.

Great coat. The only drawback it that it's hard to zip up. The material gets stuck in the zipper. The coat is very warm and comfortable.

I love the coat! Just what I needed for those cold morning walks! I am 5'6" and weigh 172. The coat fits perfectly in a large. I can wear a sweater under it comfortably. The arms run a little small so you can't wear anything real thick under it. However, the coat is very warm so this hasn't been a problem. Yes, I recommend the coat you will not be sorry unless your arms are too tight! I live in SC so we had some 20 degree weather sometimes !

Great coat. The sleeves are long on me but otherwise, very nice fit. This coat is light weight yet very warm.

I love this coat and am so happy about the size inclusivity. It's warm, flattering, and a lot of options for personal adjustment. I don't have a problem with the arms or pockets like some of the other commenters - gloves and my phone stay in fine and there are two levels of pockets, one with a zipper. My major complaint is that the hood snaps off incredibly easily. A couple snaps come undone nearly every time I pick it up. It should be secured with a zipper instead. I'll keep it but might get it altered to avoid this.

Warm and comfortable coat but it could be a little longer

I love this coat. It's warm and stylish -- I've gotten compliments on it. My one complaint is the pockets need zippers... they only have a single snap button to keep them closed which isn't convenient or easily accessible. And the pockets are angled in such a way that if you don't keep the snaps closed, stuff could easily fall out.

Good quality and good fit. Runs on the larger side (usually wear a medium, but a small fit better). It does seem like the down fill level has gone down. It is still warm, but I had another of the same coat I bought used last year and it is much thicker.

This is a great coat. It is lightweight, warm and fits a curvy gal very well. My only wish is that it had better, deeper pockets for gloves and my cell phone. Otherwise, it was the perfect choice for a recent winter trip to Montana, Wyoming.

the coat is cut large but suitable for petites. the zipper is finicky though.

This is a very nice coat. It's very warm. I do wish the pockets were larger to allow for holding my winter gloves. I wish the outer pocket zipped.

This is a great coat with one major flaw: the pockets. The pockets have one snap and are not deep enough at all. They will hold your cell phone but don't be surprised if it falls out. Why would you not have zippered pockets on a $200 coat? Come one Bean, you're better than that!

This fits well, and keeps me nice and warm. I'm disappointed in the pockets. My old parka had 9 pockets of various sizes and shapes, all over the coat. This just has 2 main pockets with 2 zippered pockets inside those. None are big enough for a cell phone or my mittens.

The coat zipper is a little difficult but maybe it'll get better over time. I've only worn the coat twice. It kept me warm while walking around looking at Christmas lights in 30 degree damp weather. I have an old Bean down coat that flap pockets and side entry pockets that I like better than this coats side entry pockets with internal zipper. Not as easy to retrieve my gloves.

I love my Classic Down Parka and have been wearing it for about 3 weeks. My only suggestion is that there be a velcro tab on the hood itself to shorten how far the hood comes down over the face. I have to constantly push it back as it falls somewhat over my eyes. This is the only reason I gave it a 4 rating.

VERY warm jacket - it's exactly what I was looking for - however, the feathers have been falling out. I wouldn't have expected this from a $200 jacket.

I really like this coat. I ended up getting a Large size and it fits well although it looks a little bulky. I debated going down a size but I think this will work nicely over bulky sweaters. I love that the parka covers my bum and comes down to my wrist. Love the color too. I think the only thing I don't love is the pockets. With having both a zipper and a button I sometimes struggling putting and taking things out of the pockets.

Perfect for New England weather. Keeps you warm without adding too much bulk and driving friendly. The only downside is that the 2way zipper sticks when you want to give wiggle room when sitting down.

I spend a lot of time outdoors and this is perfect. Great for layering or just wearing alone. Keeps you nice and warm on cold days. I only gave it a 4 because it does not have a lot of pocket space. I like my jackets to have lots xtra little hidden pockets with zippers to secure my stuff because im an avid walker,and this lacks that space,and the hand pockets dont have a zipper just a snap which doesn't close the pocket all the way. Otherwise its a perfect jacket for me.you can move around easily in it it is not restrictive,and the green color is so pretty !
