This is a great coat, especially for the money. It does not have the frills of some more expensive coats, but it is warm and well made. There is no hood or internal arm cuffs. Internal pockets are also missing, but the two external pockets have zippers and are deep and warm. Quality of materials and assembly appear to be first rate. The upper back and shoulders have a flannel insert that adds to the ability of the coat to keep one warm. You pay a small price in terms of weight. It is also just a tick more difficult to put on as the flannel causes some friction. Over all, the coat is an excellent value. I wear a tall + XXL and this coat is a little smaller than my other Bean coat of the same size. This would preclude me from wearing an under-layer. Wind resistance is very good.

A good, comfortable midweight jacket. The fleece liner in the shoulders area took some getting used to, but it adds some reliable warmth where other puffers lose their insulation over time as the shoulder material compresses

Light, warm and portable. Don't typically wear jackets as I overheat, but this is perfect for me.

I am 6'0" and 196lbs and ordered the large. Fit is spot on. Love the jacket, the look, and the function. I read all the reviews prior purchasing regarding the frustration over the interior fleece lining catching your underlayer but honestly have not experienced that being a big problem at all. The inner lining of the sleeve will indeed slide out some as you bring your arm thru but a quick tuck back in and it's no problem... I have experienced this with other down jackets as well. For the price point I still believe this is a great jacket and I have found it to be both warm and windproof which is good since that is the main reason for purchasing. Overall it has been a great jacket. It looks great, it's a good fit, and I am satisfied.

You might be a bit sad to pay full price, but the coat is a good thing. 5'11 185ish size XL. The important thing is that the XL is the same as a standard size L. Other than that fairly good quality, Actually contains some down, although not heavily insulated. Some comment on the fleece lining that extends a short way into the sleeves being sticky or perhaps small arm openings. I did not find this true in any way. (I have seen such things before, and I've tried them all)

Comes with LL Bean's legendary quality. Nice color combination. Fits well. Come next winter, I expect this jacket will be nice and warm. Definitely recommend anything from LL Bean. Size is XL.

This is a very efficient jacket, giving even more warmth than I had expected. But still very light weight and easily packed away for travel. Very comfortable.

Wanted a jacket to wear over a tee in cold weather and boy did this deliver! Low 20s and windy? No problem! I couldn't feel the wind at all! Now, the rumors ARE true, the fleece inside upper lining will make putting this on over a long-sleeved shirt a task, but I wasn't planning on wearing it with long sleeves that often anyway. My only drawbacks are the inability to pack into itself, and most importantly, the lack of an interior or exterior chest pocket. Otherwise, so far so great!

Great jacket. Comfy and warm. Keeps me warmer than I expected! Very glad I took a chance with this one. Only complaint, however small, is that the LL Bean logo feels a bit cheaply printed on the front.

I am 6ft. 235 lbs. I would recommend ordering a size larger than you think you are. I love this jacket. Great look, light weight and I love down jackets.

I'm 5' 11" 215 lbs. I bought a Large Reg. The jacket fits fitted in the mid section but not tight. Perfect length in the arms as I'm a 34/35 in dress shirts. The fleece lining is comfortable as it is mid back & up to the bottom of the neck & under the arm pits but not down the sleeve. I do not have any problems with it getting the jacket on and off. The fleece actually helps the jacket stay centered on the body. I stay perfectly warm in the jacket but not hot. It's puffy but you don't look like a marshmallow man. I love the color set up. Highly recommend!

Well-made and warm jacket. The felt lining and down filling really do their work. The jacket is probably best in colder temperatures (20s, 30s).

This is a great daily winter jacket. Keeps me warm on the coldest of days during the winter for general day to day use. Runs a little on the smaller side, so if you want to wear a base layer underneath, it is probably best to size up or at least try it on before purchasing.

Best coat to keep warm. Every morning when I have to take my puppy out to go to the restroom, it is incredibly warm every time.

This jacket is wonderful. I was looking to replace an old Bean warm up jacket. This one is just slightly longer than a bomber but not as long as a parka and the draw cord at the bottom lets me keep it short enough - still allows for plenty of flexibility and is very, very warm and just the right weight. Not so light as to feel like you've got no coverage (which I do not like) but not heavy like a parka. The fleece lining on the top half of the coat adds a bit of comfort and warmth - and is super comfortable. Some reviews note that your shirt sleeves get stuck on the fleece lining which is just at the top of the sleeve. They do a bit, but I've found that many other jackets do as well. I wear my shirt sleeves rolled up and they do catch a bit sometimes. I just poke them down if I think of it, or they fall correctly as I wear the coat. With my shirt sleeves down, no problem. Perhaps LL will make the top of the sleeve nylon - but it does offer a great warmth at the shoulder area! A trade off I'm willing to make. The colors are great, quality is 100%. I absolutely love this jacket.

Our sons's new favorite jacket. He likes this even better than the 650-down fill jacket due to the soft fleece lining and the fun color block. Keeps him warm with a thin layer underneath in 20-30 degree weather.
