I am not certain what more can be written about this vest. I had one a few years ago and gave it away as I thought I would not wear it. I wish I had not done that. I purchased a replacement this past fall, and I am extremely happy with it. Recently I had a business meeting in another state. I hate to take a coat on the airplane so I packed my waterfowl vest instead. I wore it to and from the meeting in temperatures as low as 18 degrees. I was not cold at all. When I returned to Maine it was 10 degrees. I had to walk to my car in the airport parking lot, clean the snow from a recent storm, and drive away in a vehicle that had sat in freezing temperatures for a week. This vest PERFORMED. It works so well I have ordered a second color. I am using it as a replacement for a coat in short walks from the car. If it works in Maine I cannot think of another place it would not.

pros: love the overall style, warmth, and fit cons: collar rides over shirt collar (may adjust with wear) and wish there was an internal/external pocket for wallet/cell phone.

This is a great sweater, as a matter of fact this is the second one that I have purchased. I mainly use the sweater when I am out playing golf but it is great to wear anytime a "little extra" is needed.

The sweater vest is an excellent product. Fit was perfect; sometimes Large is not quite what it is supposed to be, but this was. The color is beautiful and the vest is extremely warm. The zipper works well. Color allows it to go with a variety of shirts and jackets. I looked in stores and at several web pages. Nothing compares.

This is a great vest for both indoor and outdoor use. The collar and pockets are fleece lined, and the merino wool is soft, itch-free, good looking, and a good fit. This vest will get a lot of use.

I was looking for a while for a all wool vest and this is it. The fit (I am slender build) and workmanship are good and the price is competitive.

This is a high quality, warm wool sweater vest in the old LL Bean tradition. I use it over a shirt for cool days or nights outdoors, or around the house in the winter. It is also very useful under a lighter jacket or windbreaker when you are not ready for bulky winter wear. The front zipper is also more convenient than pulling a sweater on and off.

I ordered this vest because the one I had became too big for me. Wonderful product. I also have the waterfowl sweater. Keep up the good work.

These are the only sweater vests my elderly father likes. He loves them! They keep his core warm inside the house in the winter. He wears them almost every day. So well made. His last one lasted about 20 years, and when it got a small hole in it he asked me to mend it and kept wearing it. Thanks for making clothes that bring comfort and warmth to my parents in their old age.

Winters chill is matched by the warm neck liner and pocket materials along with the wool body of this country style sweater. The brass zipper snugs up so drafts are kept out. The overall fit is good for layering or over a dress shirt.

Wear it indoors with a shirt and adds extra warmth under a jacket when going out. Very good product

This was a gift for my husband. As you can tell from the Title, he is very, very picky. It fit him well, and he says it's very warm. He's 6'4" and trim, so the Large was the right fit for him. He's already worn it several times, so I know it has become one of his favorites.

Warm and Comfortable! ... Not hot or restricting like some sweaters. Laundered well on delicate cycle. Great with jeans or khakis. Can't rave enough!

Nice substantial fabric weight on this vest---love the fleece lined pockets. Received as a Christmas present and have worn it several times already--very pleased with the way it wears and looks. The dark cinder color is actually more of a grayish brown neutral but it looks great with both jeans and khakis . Perfect layering piece for fall/winter/spring in NC.

My husband loves these vest. I was happy to find new colors this year as he has all the old colors He wears them to work to stay warm in the cold weather. He also can dress up a dress shirt when we go out. High quality. I love how they look, they can be casual or dressed up. Love them and would highly recommend

I recently received the Waterfowl Sweater Vest. Prior to ordering, I reviewed its five-star rating and the comments. This may be the finest (of the many fine) items that I have ever purchased from LL Bean in my forty years as a customer. It is perfect. I wore it to work and got many positive comments, especially about the collar. It fits great, feels great, matches most of my wardrobe. I can't say enough good things about it. It looks like it will be another investment from Bean rather than just a purchase.

Don't be fooled by the waterfowl sweater vest name. It is a classy sweater that I suppose can be used for waterfowling (but not my sport). It is warm, substantial. I have a medium. I'm at173 lbs. and it fits slim, not tight; also not baggy as in days of yesteryear when sweaters were baggy. You can probably pay a lot more for a sweater that has this dress/casual vibe. I found the dark cinder to be very versatile in my wardrobe.

Warm, comfortable, good looking. I got lots of compliments when I first wore this sweater. Just wish it came in black or a dark grey. I gave one as a gift to my brother.
