For size comparison, I am 6'4", 205#, 44" chest, 38"-40" waist and 37" sleeve length. I purchased size XL Tall. The fit and sleeve length is acceptable. The labels and description state this sweater is 100% merino, however I have many pieces of merino wool clothing items and none itch like this one. This sweater has a course feel, not like soft merino wool. So, I washed this sweater in merino wool wash and it greatly helped softening up the wool. I plan to use a 150 to 250 weight quarter zip pullover merino wool shirt underneath during the winter months here in CO. Like many reviewers have stated, this sweater is brown, no hint of green. No big deal for me as I like brown and dark green sweaters. I rated this sweater Four Stars due to the coarse and itchy wool feel. I do not know where the "merino" wool was sourced from but I have my doubts about it being 100% merino wool. I'll keep it because it reminds me of the sweater I wore early on during my 23 year military career.

this was a client gift, the only comment from client was the sleeve was a little short, his further comment was 2XTall normally takes care of arm length so it's possible Bean needs to double check the mfg.

I'm 6'0" and 190 lbs. I find myself in "the middle ground" with a lot of tops (tall or regular), so ordered the tall to begin with. Sweater shipped promptly but returned and re-ordered in regular since the body length of the sweater was too long. Love the sweater! The merino wool keeps me toasty warm during these winter months in MN and the cotton shoulder and elbow accents are a nice touch.

I should preface by saying that I love the sweater and that the quality is great. However, the color is completely different in person than what is displayed in the site picture for "Deep Woods Green Heather". There is no hint of green, it's just brown and darker overall which is slightly disappointing.

I found the sweater to be too rough and scratchy. Given the softness of the merino wool socks I love, I did not expect this. I had to return it immediately.

The sweater quality was just fine but when I tried it on it was just too large for me as I have lost a few pounds the past few months. Unfortunately I had to return it.

Like the fit. However, the "Deep Woods Green" color is definitely more on the brown side, rather than green or olive. It is incorrectly shown and labeled on the Henley collar version as a "Deep Woods Green". The 'Zipper Front' version of this sweater shows the correct color as more of a Brown heather, not as a green or olive heather color.

Fit and finish are perfect, however the color is not exactly as pictured.has more for a brown tinge instead of olive.

I'm 5'8", 145#'s and the Medium fit great. The cuffs are 3" Some reviews said theirs were made in China, mine was made in Jordan. It is much scratchier than I expected for Merino wool, but I always wear a thin, long sleeved shirt underneath sweaters so it was a non-issue for me. The torso length was a bit long, but not bad. I just roll the extra length under. I got the Loden Heather colour because reviews for the deep woods green said it was more brown. I'm happy with the Loden Heather. It was a bit darker than it looks on the website. I'll need a year or so to determine durability, but otherwise I'm happy with it.

Ultimately, I decided to keep the sweater because I really wanted something different than just a crew or 3/4 zip and this meets the mark. That said, the collar does kind of hit in weird place on the neck. I tried it on with a collared shirt underneath and it looked odd as the collared shirt was only slightly above the collar of this sweater. But I really like the patchwork on the shoulders and arms. I also like the cuffed sleeves. I'm 5'9" and 155lbs and bought a small. It goes on and wears nicely, but it is difficult to take off (a little tight).

The color description was misleading, is actually brown, not green at all. Claimed to be Deep Woods Green Heather. The cotton patches look somewhat cheap and poor quality. The sweater is very warm, quite comfortable overall.

Large tall is my size in a River Driver, but was very tight in this sweater. Warmer than expected and nicely made, merino was a bit rougher than smart wool, but nice, nice long sleeves and durable shoulders

Nice heavy weight sweeter. I love wool but have tender skin so I always wear a long sleeved shirt under it, The arms are very, very long and designed to fold up about 4", but I have to fold them up another 4" to see my hands. I don't find that a problem but there is a noticeable permanent crease 4" above my wrist.

The henley commando sweater fits true to expectations, is comfortable, and looks great! My biggest frustration with the product is that everything sticks to it: hair, lint, dust, dandruff, etc. Invest in some solid sticky lint rollers!

I ordered this sweater in "Green" but it is actually brown! There is no trace of green in it at all. The color for this particular sweater is a big deal for me so brown does not work. I spoke with a representative about this last year but they have not corrected it yet.

The fit and quality was there. Large fitted my shoulders perfect. I am not trim, my belly sticks out averagely for 60 year old, no beer belly. I gave it a 4 star because the of the color described and pictured as deep woods green heather is actually brown in sunlight. I returned it because my wife said it didn't look like a commando but a hobo. Haha, I ordered a black one!

I like the sweater, it's comfortable and appears to be well made. However, looking at the picture in the catalog, I assumed the arm length matches the sweater length. I did not catch that the sleeves appear to be cuffed. After I received the sweater, we washed it in cold water and mild detergent prior to wearing. I blocked the sweater to dry, but once finished, the sleeve length is probably 3" or more longer than the body. So, now I have to cuff this sweater. Not what I wanted.

Really love this sweater. Heavy weight, with really tough patches on the shoulder and elbows. Great color, well made. Love the fact the sleeves come with very oversized cuffs, which lets me roll down the sleeve to my 38" arms, and still have a nice turned up cuff. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it's a tad fitted. I'd have preferred it to be a little looser fitting around the torso, and a XXL would definitely have been too large. Nevertheless, it's great looking, great feeling and worth the $$.

This is great for cold weather. I did wear a short sleeve shirt under it just so the wool would not make me itch since we were inside on New Years Eve. Looks great!! Had lots of complements! The sleeves were a little long for me.

Nice heavy weight. Sleeves were long enough to cuff. The problem for me was how itch the collar was. I'd need a turtleneck under this thing to keep the wool off of my neck. I'd be wearing it today if it wasn't for that. Returned.

Didn't read the fine print before I ordered it that it was a slim fit. Wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known that. Was used to the more generous fit of all my other LL Bean clothes.

This is a good looking sweater. The listed color description is "Deep Woods Green Heather." Disappointingly, the sweater is much more brown than green. I usually wear medium size shirts (such as the wicked good flannels). But, based on the sizing of a pullover fleece I purchased from LL Bean, I got a large instead. the large fits just right.

I love the look of this sweater and it seems very warm, except I didnt read the description carefully and didnt see how its "slightly fitted" and "slightly slimmer waist" I'm normally an XLTall, but i've been waiting patiently for a restock of XXL tall in this bad boy. Even went to a store and they didn't have any in stock I don't see an option for XXL Tall anymore, so i'm hoping they aren't going to stop making it. Also, sweater is VERY itchy. If I am able to get the larger size, will most definitely need a base layer Will update my review if i receive a larger size and if it's not updated, you know I returned it haha

The weather in the NE is still warm, only worn this once; I only gave this 4 stars because of the limited use. I'm 5'11", 205lbs, 35" sleeve & broad shoulders; the XL was the right choice.
