I'm normally a size 11. I ordered a size 11 and they were too big, so I reordered a 10.5. The 10.5 fits but I walk right out of them. My heel just slides up as if the show is too big but its not. They feel too big but I am a half a size down and they're still slipping right off my heel. Not sure if I am going to return them They look great.

Well made. Fit and finish are excellent. A nicer piping trim at the top is needed, and I would like lace hooks on the top three, like my old Chippewas have.

The boot is comfortable. However, the inside of the boot needs to have a smooth leather instead of the rough inside. The boot tends to eat your socks. I glued in smooth leather on the sides and the tongue and solved the problem.

I have a relatively high instep; Not excessive but putting them on is VERY difficult. So much so that sometimes I think of wearing a different shoe... Though I like them once my foot is in. I think part of the difficulty (for higher insteps) lie with the tongue connection being sewn so high up the inside of the boot, hindering them from opening enough to slip my foot in.

These are perfectly fine boots. The Katahdin Ironworks boots were much better in every aspect, perhaps they should come back into production?

Great boots. Not much of a break in period. Super comfortable. Laces are too long. Just swap out with a shorter pair. I didn't love the insoles (weird bump at forefoot that didn't line up correctly with my foot), so I put different insoles in. Despite all of that I'll give the boots 4 stars to start. No pair of shoes will fit perfectly unless they are custom made. So don't gripe about small things that might need to be fine tuned based on personal comfort. Construction quality seems good. We'll see how they hold up after some hard use.

My boyfriend really liked them. He said that they're made from high grade material. He really likes the laces. He wishes that they had liners. Also, he did have to exchange them for a wide size.

I was looking for very durable yet decent looking boot that was made from full grain leather. Definitely got that with this boot. Looking forward to years of use. I have worn the boot for approximately 200,000 steps at this point, it took 100,000 to accomplish level 1 break-in. The inside soles are very comfortable. I am a little disappointed in the material of the outsole. It is wearing too quickly. I am heavy and athletic, and even though I have only had these boots around two months I can see some wear in the heels. I will have them re-soled when they wear too thin for my taste. Additional notes: - The uppers are not lined. This boot is not appropriate for very cold weather. - This boot breathes very well. I tend to have very hot feet, and these are the first shoes I have worn that have been comfortable in that respect.

These boots are great once you get them broken in. I did the typical Army boot break in of soaking them in water and wearing them wet, the leather in the heel is very rough and caused blisters from the rubbing. They took about two weeks for the leather to stretch/soften up. They're true to fit if you know your size in a Goodyear welt shoeto compare, I wear an 10.5 to 11 in a running shoe and a 10 in these. I now wear them pretty much as my everyday shoes. I would have given them 5 stars, but they took a little longer to break in than other boots and the laces that come with them are very cheap.

Really happy with this boot. Very comfortable from the moment I slipped them on. Roomy toe box. Comes with a very cushy insole which is removable. Well built shoe.

The boots are nice, just the look I was looking for. They are pretty comfortable and the more you wear them they get better.

Good quality constructed boot for the price. Nice to find an engineer boot with lug soles. Stiff at first (as expected) but broke in nicely after a few hours wear. These will be my go to daily wear for fall, winter and spring. These do run large which not unusual for unlined leather boots. I measure and order my usual size, but they were comically large. Exchanged for one whole size small and the fit was perfect. The need to order one size down is pretty standard from my experience with unlined boots. These seem like they should last years and years with occasional re-soling by a good cobbler.

boots are great once broken. it took me a while because i didnt wear regularly. Im sure they will last several more years. the laces could be higher quality. i paid 200 for mines and would recommend the purchase. i would not want to break them in again but now i dont want to work without them.

The title says it all... These boots are truly a beautiful design and probably a great fit once broken in. Unfortunately, the soles of these boots are a soft, almost foam like material. Certainly not the rubber sole you would expect. Very nice, durable leather that would need a resole quickly. Returned.

I have worn these maybe 30 times and the laces are shredded. Some might say it's not a big deal they're only laces, but I shouldn't have to go buying new laces after a couple months of wear.

These are just OK for the money... a lot of other leather boots are in the $300 - $400 range. However, the vibram sole they use on these is a softer foam, which I'm sure adds comfort, but wore down extremely fast. I was hoping to get 3-5 years of out these boots and after 6 months half of the heel was gone. Probably OK if you are mostly wearing them on smooth concrete / shop floors or just getting in and out of your car. I wore these to walk city streets and they didn't cut it for me.

Purchased to be one of a couple of primary wear work boots. Fit true to size, have broken in nicely and are over all what I expected. The only reason I don't rate them higher is they make a clicking sound when you walk. Comfortable, good looking boots but I wont be sneaking up on anyone.

the leather is not of high quality. Very thin for a work boot. And I was expecting a more durable sole. It seems to be made of foam rubber and not very solid. I don't expect these boots to last very long.

These are a good looking set of boots. But after two months of ownership, they took forever to break in. I had a callus develop on my upper heal from the rear of the boot, it was uncomfortable. The laces fell apart a couple weeks ago also. I would probably buy again since I am not on my feet all day and can work through the break in.

I wore these boots for two winter seasons as a general contractor in Denver before the sole split. They were comfortable, waterproof and fit well, but I expected them to last at least one more season. With LLBeans reputation for standing behind their products, I was hoping for some kind of warranty, repair or discount, but was offered nothing other than throwing them out for me at the store. Doubtful that Ill buy another pair of work boots from LLBean.

I got these in EE after Iron Rangers were too narrow. Theyre such beautiful boots, the fit is great and they need minimal breaking in straight out of the box.
