This is my husband's second pair of these. He bought the first pair many years ago, about 15 years or more. He wears them all the time inside the house and even occasionally wears them outside to get the mail, etc. They have just developed a hole in the sole of both, so we decided it was time for a new pair!
They are not inexpensive, but we consider them a good investment and much better than buying less expensive pairs more often.

I've been using these slippers now for almost 3 years and they are excellent. Very comfortable (perhaps a little warm in the summer months) and once they're broken in and the sole is scuffed up a little (they can be slippery) they quickly became my favorite slipper ever; though I do recommend ordering them a size larger than you may otherwise especially if you intend to wear socks (see more below).
I originally found them when searching for rubber-less sole alternatives. As it turns out, Rubber Soles + Some Types Of Home Heating + Fabric Furniture = Tons of Static Cling Constantly. Since switching to these slippers, the static issues in the winter have reduced dramatically. Why? Because the leather allows you to remain grounded to floor whereas the rubber creates an electrical barrier (google it).
I was prompted to leave this review by some of the negative reviews I've seen. Many of them seem to be regarding the size running small or not fitting well with socks. I am a size 10 in your average, correctly formed, sneaker. That being said, this has a fuzzy lining that is almost like a sock in it's own right; and even the leather double soled one (without liner) seemed to run a little small. So definitely consider going 1 size up and unless you have narrow feet then try the Medium D setting. Don't forget, you can exchange it for free if you didn't like it (I started with double soled leather and switched to the lined bison in a larger size).

This is my second pair of these slippers. I had the first pair for over 4 years and wore them daily. Finally wore a small hole in one sole and decided it was time for another pair! Well worth the money!!

I liked them so much I bought a second pair to have when the first pair wears out. The wear and tear on my first pair suggests they'll wear out maybe 15 - 20 years from now and these may not be available then.

I ordered these slippers after a very helpful "chat" online. Our family does not buy goods made in China, and the chat person was able to find these slippers made in El Salvador. My husband has wide toes and narrow heels, and is always cold, so I was hoping these would be great but I was worried about other reviews that mentioned that the bison soles are slippery. I would have chosen some with a rubbery sole, but have done so in the past that had a chemical odor that just wouldn't go away, so I didn't want to repeat that experience. Right out of the box, they were slippery. He demonstrated for me by skidding across our Oriental rug like a little kid. But after about 4 purposeful skids, they weren't very slippery anymore, and within the first day of wearing, they were no longer slippery at all! They are warm and they fit well, and they are just so well made that they are a pleasure to look at! After I purchased these, I had seen similar looking ones (from China) at the mall that were slightly less expensive, and our money doesn't grow on trees.......but we are COMPLETELY happy that I chose these L. L. Bean bison slippers. They are far superior in quality to any I have seen elsewhere, and are just so PRETTY (and comfortable).

I've had these moccasins for two months. They fit great, keep my feet warm, and allow me to feel the ground under my feet when I walk around the house.
Fit is slightly wide, but true to length. If you're going to wear socks with them, they may end up loose without them once they form to your foot. It took maybe two days of wearing them to form fit. The soles were very slippery on carpet at first, but as they wore a bit they grip just fine.
The shearling lining is very warm, I'm considering the unlined version for summer.
Keep them out of water and off too much concrete and they should last for years. Craftmanship is great!

This is my fourth pair over the past 20 years. The are comfortable, extremely tough soles and look good. I would never be without a pair.

All the adult men in our family wear these slippers. I have ordered and given as gifts quite a few of them over the years, and everyone always wants them again! I wear mine every day! They are great! This particular purchase is for my grandson and will be his second pair.

I have used these slippers for years, I am on my third or fourth pair and love them. They conform well to your feet. Initially they will feel snug but they are supposed to! They will break in over time. LLBean used to re-sole them in the past but unfortunately that is no longer offered ( I am dating myself). They are worth every penny to me.

These slippers/shoes are great for lounging inside or out. They are comfortable, style-conscious and sturdy. My husband has worn them constantly since they arrived. My son and I also have used suede, lambs-wool lined slippers. All the items are good value--we wear them out and get them again.

The Bison slipper is a nicely designed, and good fitting slipper. The double-wrapped sole is both comfortable and durable. I have to remember that these are slippers, not outside footwear (though they are listed as "moccasins" in some LLB catalogues). I do believe they are durable enough to stand up to most outside environments.
I love them!

Heed the warnings in the reviews. Every other LL Bean shoe I have ordered, I took the advice to order a size up if you're a half size. I'm glad I read the reviews on this slipper. I'm a 10.5, but ordered down to a 10. Excellent, snug fit, just right!

The best slipper I have ever owned. I've tried many from Eddie Bauer to Cabela's etc. Nothing is close to the styling, comfort, and warmth that these slipper provide.
I am very particular about clothing and shoes so look no further than these if you really want quality. You will not be disappointed.

I have had so many slippers over the years that wear out after a year or two. These slippers, with the double leather sole, seem to be almost indestructible. One caveat though, they are only for indoor wear.

I have purchased both these bison leather bottom shearling lined slippers and the regular leather bottom shearling lined slippers for my husband. Both styles are fantastic. We love the quality and workmanship, comfort and style. Super hard to find quality slippers that do not have a rubber bottom on them now days. These are great and I would recommend them to anyone!
