These slippers are very cozy and comfortable to sit around in. I usually wear an 11.5 wide. Since these aren't available in half sizes, I bought a 12 medium, figuring that a little less width would make up for the little more length. The front part of these slippers--the part of a shoe that I often find to be too narrow--fits me nicely. The problem is that they are too wide at the back, despite the fact that a bought a medium. Because they're so soft and flexible, the excessive width at the back means that my heel keeps sliding off the sole. Another reviewer complained of ankle pronation; I think we're referring to the same thing. As long as I walk carefully and am conscious about making sure I don't let my feet slip sideways off the heels, I guess I'll be okay. The question is whether I want to have to think about walking carefully when I'm wearing slippers. I expect I'll end up deciding that this isn't what I want from slippers.

The slippers are well made, but order Wide even if you have a regular width foot because these things are extremely narrow. Also, if you have a high instep they are little bit difficult to get on. I had to return them because they were too narrow, would have otherwise gave 5 stars.

I have worn out a pair of these slippers every 2 years or so for over a decade. I love them and wear them all winter. My most recent pair had to be returned because the foam padding was uneven - thick on one side, paper thin on the other. Happy to get the replacement pair - until I put them on. A little tight is normal with the new thick fur lining - but my toe was against the front. Compared them bottom to bottom with 2 sets of my older pairs and clearly they are smaller. Tag inside confirms Mens 9M, like the stamp on the bottom, but bottoms to bottoms they are about 1/2 inch shorter. Very, very disappointing as I have, until now, loved them so.

First out of the box I couldn't visually tell which slipper was for my left or right foot before trying on these slippers. Very comfortable and soft. Very warm and seemed to fit well before I started to walk. Now the negative it's just too lose on the sides. My feet slides left and right inside the slippers. Just not L.L.Bean quality that I expected. These were replacing my old worn out slippers which I loved and wore in and around the home. I'll be looking to replace these shortly.

Return customer, hence I've come to expect exceptional products from L.L. Bean. These slippers would have been my 3rd or 4th purchase of the same or very similar footwear spanning over 35+ years. Bought a similar looking shearling lined slipper from a competitor because sale price was lower. Returned immediately as they didn't hold a candle to my 4 year old "Bean" slippers. Blamed myself for putting price ahead of quality. Bought the wicked good L.L. Bean slippers. Sadly they were not any better. Shearling lining perhaps a third thinner than the pair I purchased 4 years ago and other pairs bought many years previously.
I must say though, if you are a first time buyer, the slipper appears to be well made, true to size and comfortable.
I've returned the slippers and received full credit. Be aware L.L. Bean has dropped its lifetime guarantee. Never had need to use it, but it reassured me I was buying exceptional items that spanned the gammet from river driving shirts, Portuguese flannel sheets, deerskin moccasins, Hudson Bay (like) blanket coats, rugby shorts, jackets, etc.
I'll still pore through every L.L.Bean catalog, but will be a more cautious buyer. I know it's harder for "stores" to maintain quality and affordable pricing. Time will tell if I return to L.L. Bean.

They are nice and warm, and my husband loves them. But they are way too expensive for slippers. And they don't last more than a year - the fleece inside gets smashed down, and wears out under the heel. And the stitching came loose after a year, and LL Bean would not replace them. If they wore better, I'd give them 5 stars.

I have purchased several of these slippers over the years and have been generally satisfied with them.
PROS: These are available in EE Width, and they are generally made of very good materials.
CONS: The stitching holding the upper to the sole has never held up well. I admit that my wide foot contributes to this problem.
SOLUTION: Once the stitching starts to fail - usually in a couple of months - I replace the effected areas of fabric stitch with leather shoe lace. This is VERY inconvenient but allows the remainder of good quality material to last much longer.
CONCLUSION: I think Bean should find a better, longer lasting material for the sole stitching. I do not think I will purchase this slipper again. I used to buy similar slippers from another vendor, and the sole leather extended further up the side so that stitch wear was not an issue.

My new shoes are too wide, causing my foot to slide to one side. This causes wear on the stitching.

I've had these for 2 months now. They're very soft and warm, but have 2 problems: First, the leather is so soft that after 2 months of careful use, they've stretched from skin-tight, to so large they sometimes fall off my foot. Second, the felt lining on the inner sole looks like it was glued on by a child. In some parts, piles of fake wool are glued together like a hairball; other parts are almost bare of felt. It's a little uncomfortable to walk on this uneven surface.

I replaced a pair of llbean handsewn slippers with the wicked good slippers because I thought they would be more comfortable, just from the looks of them. I wear my slippers pretty much all the time when I am in the house, so I walk quite a bit in them. I found that the "wicked good slippers" were fine for sitting around but not great for walking around. My right foot began to ache. I stopped wearing them and my foot felt better. I started to wear them again and my foot began to hurt again. So I have put them away for now. I plan on buying a pair of the handsewn slippers to replace these.

This is my 4th pair, and to be honest with the current price if I did not have a credit from a return I would not have purchased them. They last 2-3 years if worn regulary. I used to bite the bullet on $59 per pair. I think $89 is to high for something to last only a few years. I am a women who wears size 9.5 in women's shoes, the mens size 8 fits me perfectly. When there was a store in our area I was able to try them on to get the right fit, none of the women's sizes worked for me because they do not come in half sizes.

This was my 3rd pair bought for my husband. Very disappointing. Not as good a quality and MADE IN CHINA!!!
He says the padding/interior is much thinner than his older pair(7yrs old). O

I love these slippers and have owned three pairs over the years. My latest pair, though, I received for Christmas after we had moved into a house with wood floors. On wood, these slippers SQUEAK until I think I'll go mad. I waited 9 months before reviewing them in hopes they would quiet down, but no such luck. The noise is so grating I've taken to leaving the slippers next to my easy chair and putting them on only after I sit down (then taking them off to walk across said floors). Not an ideal situation for a pair of slippers. I won't buy another pair until I stumble across a solution or move to a house with carpeting.

I bought my first pair of the Wicked Good slippers in 2009, and wore them (out) for a good 5 years before finally caving in and replacing them in Spring of 2015. As others have noted, the stitching between the sole and upper seems to wear out first, and I repaired that set at the 3-year point with an old shoelace.
My second pair, sadly, lasted just over a year before the stitching wore through. In this case, however, I bit the bullet and ripped out all the old stitching, replacing it with waxed cord that has, thus far lasted another year. The interior fleece, however, has worn out on the sole, and the side stitching holding the upper to the lower attachment holes has started to tear out.
They're comfortable, and still warm, but the new slippers clearly weren't made with materials equal to the older slippers. I don't understand the comments on sizing -- I wear a 10.5 wide, and the 10 W slipper is floppy on my foot unless I wear very thick socks. And please don't listen to those suggesting rubber soles -- I wear mine throughout the house, and on short forays into the grass and down the driveway to check the mail -- the leather soles unadorned with rubber were one of my primary decision point for these slippers!
I love 'em, so I'll probably order one more paire this coming winter. Here's hoping they've noticed and fixed the material longevity issues...

It turned out that sole of this slipper made from shearling does not provide any support to the feet and this was why my husband did not like them and needed to return. Otherwise, very nice, cozy, warm and good quality slippers. Maybe rubber sole would work better.

I had owned this same slipper years ago and they finally wore out.The originals were excellent in feel, fit and quality.
This new version does not have the same feel, fit or quality of the original slipper and was returned.

I received a pair of these slippers for Christmas in 2012. Wanted something to wear that would keep my ankles warm without socks. They fit well and I enjoyed them through most of the first Winter. However, after a short period of time, the lining began to irritate my ankles and I stopped wearing them. Others may not have this problem. The "Awesome" refers to L.L. Beans incredibly well-run customer service department. I printed out a return shipping label and return form, wrote a quick note, asking that they replace with Mountain Slippers TA301052 (same lining but low-top vs. high top) and mailed them back. Within a week, L.L. Bean sent me the pair I requested along with a gift card as the new pair that were shipped were lower in price. It is refreshing to know that some companies actually do follow through on customer service and honor their commitments. New slippers fit perfectly and I'm sure they will be comfortable for years, to come. Great job, L.L. Bean.

they are for my husband, and he really likes them except they have absolutely no arch support and sometimes his feet hurt after walking in them around the house.

In the past these slippers were very good. Starting last year the sizing changed and I had to exchange the slipper for the next size up. Still, the support "board" at the bottom of the slipper is too small. Next time I will need to see if I can find a better slipper.
(Size 13EE exchanged for size 14EE.)

My husband loves the warmth and feel of these slippers BUT they become lopsided for some reason after daily wearing. The first pair didn't get lopsided, they wore out inside after about 9 months. Pairs 2 and 3 wore out to the point they got lopsided within a short time. Pair 2 less than a year and the pair he got this past Christmas wore out in 3 months. What I do appreciate is that they are guaranteed and even though they have been replaced four times, I have only paid once! I would rate them a one star if they didn't do that but since he loves them while they are not worn out, I give them a 3.

I first purchased these slippers over 2 years ago and was elated. They were only worn indoors and usually during the evenings or when the weather turned cold. I preferred that they had to be "pulled" on at first which I expected, and they really kept my sock feet warm as toast. Unfortunately as they aged, the top opening in both slippers lost their shape to where I could slip them on with ease. Furthermore, the outer sides weakened to the point to where when I walked, my feet would immediately roll onto the outside edges. That made me feel very unsteady on my feet. So I quit wearing them except for instances in which I was just sitting still. My daughter and son-in-law chuckled at me over the holidays last year when they both glanced down and saw how the slippers were positioned on my feet while just sitting. My slippers were indeed positioned one way and my feet another. I just wish I had saved the original box and purchase information so I could return them for a type of moccasin slipper.

Very comfortable and warm slippers, which I would recommend in that regard, but I am not happy with the stitching, which failed after less than 12 months. I expect better quality from an $80 pair of imported slippers. Will be contacting LL Bean about it, though, and I have confidence they will make it right.

My first pair of these slippers were bought about 7 years ago and lasted about 5 years. No problems.
This pair I got 2 Christmases ago. After one year there was a small split in the leather on the outside, (half inch) near the stitching. The stitching did not give out, still as good as ever, but the least split has increased to about 2 inches. It seems the leather is thin in that area. I don't know if it was just this piece of leather or if standards have changed.
