These little boots are wonderfully waterproof and appear to be durable. The only problem I have with them is that there are bulges of leather on the inside near the top of the tongue that hit my ankle bone on the right foot and abrade my skin. I took a pair of very sharp snips and cut away as much of that bulge as I could. Hopefully, that will cure the problem, along with some slightly heavier socks. I live in the South, so heavy socks aren't too comfortable in summer. Other than that issue, I love them.

I needed a good pair of waterproof boots for my daily chores. These boots fit the bill. I do think the cut is a bit on the large size and the tongue slips a bit but nothing serious. I would recommend them for outdoor work where the environment is wet.

Good shoes- wish I had gone one size wider, but hard to determine on line

I have worn these boots a few times since I purchased them and they seem to be really good, but the laces are a little short. My boots are an 11 wide, but the laces would be easier to tie if they were about 2 inches longer.

Follow the ordering instructions and these will fit. A little squeaky at first and I still like to add an additional, insole but I do this with most of my boots and shoes.

I thought for sure they would arrive too small because of their suggestion that we should order a size down, and in my case, a size and a half down. I ordered a size and a half down and still had room to put in some "gel" type of shoe insert for added comfort.
I think they are great. Maybe a little high in price, but time will tell that. If they hold up for years...They will be well worth it. If they split or degrade within the year I will be upset. I believe they should last though. So I would recommend them if you can afford them.

quality is the familiar high ll bean standard, but the newer sizing guidelines led me astray...i've sent my 8 W back for a 9W. i do have odd feet, but if you're a EEE, the Wide size might not be quite wide enough.

The shoe is great and the value good. Whoever sent the memo out on standard shoe sizes did not copy LL Bean. The only merchant in the world that asks you to measure your foot and then start subtracting from the measurement.

I had to try at least 5 different LL Bean water shoes & sizes to get one that would fit my feet. It's not Bean's fault, my feet have a weird shape. Finally found this one and they're great. Just what I wanted and expected. My feet stay perfectly dry on the long walks in the rain (with my dogs). They are comfortable and should last for years.

Great boots. Good for rain or light snow. Edges are of "soft" material, but still just hard enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Thicker socks eliminate any pressure. Cut a bit more narrow for a guy's foot, but not a real problem. A good purchase.

I ordered a size 7 mens and they will do the job. I would really like to see a mens size 6 offered in the boot selections having such a short but wide foot.

Follow their sizing directions. Your regular size will be WAY too big. These keep your feet dry. They are not hiking boots--more for around the yard when it's wet. Seem to be well made. Take about a day to break in. Some rubbing against heel where stitching attaches the rubber part to the leather part. Not too bad. I'd get these again.

I bought the Gumshoe a size smaller than my normal shoe size. It was still too big. The customer service rep arranged to send me the next size down so I could compare the two to see which one would fit the best. The 2nd pair came within days of my call, complete with an exchange ticket to send the pair that didn't fit back. As it turned out the smaller size fit best. My Gumshoe size was two sizes smaller than my normal shoe size. From a size 10 to a size 8. Half sizes would be nice.

When these boots arrived (soaking wet, thanks to UPS leaving the package at the end of my driveway) they felt a bit narrow across the ball of my foot. I called Bean's and asked if they would loosen with wear, the way leather shoes do. Well, they did. They are more comfortable than I would have imagined. The tongue isn't gusseted, but I experienced no leaking there. The chain-pattern tread provides surprisingly good grip on slippery surfaces and muddy slopes. I'm very pleased with them overall, except that they're quite short for "boots," so hosing off mud/manure can be tricky. I definitely recommend cleaning these shoes by letting them dry overnight, then clapping them together next morning to remove any goop. They're superb wet-weather SHOES, but I really wouldn't use the word BOOTS to describe them at all. So now I'm going to exchange them for a pair of Bean BOOTS. Thank goodness for Bean's excellent customer service!

I like the product very much. The shoes fit, they are comfortable, and I have a narrow, hard to fit foot. One recommendation: make the tongue longer to make the boots easier to put on. Right now unless you use a shoehorn, your foot jams the tongue into the shoe when you put it on.

Was aware from reviews and LLBean's note that size was an issue, and so ordered a size smaller than I normally take. With medium-weight socks, the fit is fine.

Great shoes, really comfortable and finally a shoe that is wide enough. Only problem was the way they were packed to ship caused stress on the threads and thread broken on one shoe. Hope it holds up!

Boots are comfortable. LLBean seems to have a problem in sizing them. I ordered an 11 when I usually wear a 12, and they fit fine.

I just got these shoes or boots and have worn them once. I got them for golf -- to use on a particularly soggy course I play from time to time. The first and only time I wore them they kept my feet dry and were reasonably comfortable, but I'll add some arch supports and put on a second pair of socks the next time I wear them. Bean's says they run large, and they really do. Believe it. You might want to order several sizes, and then send back the one or ones that don't give you the best fit. I cann't say how durable they'll be, or work in the long run, because I just bought them.

Great shoe for work around the barn. My feet stay dry and the shoes are easily rinsed before entering the house.

Great boots - I ordered a 10W (I have wide feet, usually wear a 9.5) - they were like putting on small kayaks. Exchanged for a 9W, and I will tell you, I still have more room than I need in the toe, so I would have to warn you that the Gumshoes seem to run quite a bit longer than other shoes. These 9's are as long as a normal 10.5 shoe...but I love them!

I bought these boots at the beginning of the fall semester to replace a pair that had been worn out. For some reason or another, mine tend to leak if walking through puddles or rain. This has never been an issue for me; my last pair of bean boots kept my feet extremely dry! I'm sure that it was just a bad batch, but its pretty frustrating at times. I haven't come across anyone else experiencing the same problem so I highly recommend you buy these boots. Make sure you go down atleast 1 full size. I wear these boots to class in the rain and when it is cold and they seem to get the job done.

I read about these boots from other customers. When checking sizes I did what the site said and they fit fine. I work outdoors and these come in real handy with the morning dew. The only set back is that most of the grass that I walk through is not cut low enough and the water splashes up on my pant legs. They are very comfortable and I wear them all morning even when I don't need too. Well worth the money. Give them a try.

These boots are deceptively comfortable, lighter than they look, and easy to walk in compared to similar low cut boots I have had.

The Gumshoe is very comfortable and although they come only in regular widths they are roomy inside. I require EE widths and had plenty of freedom in the Gumshoe Regular. Only problem is they do not come in half sizes so unless you vary sock thickness they may be too short or too long.
