After contemplating purchasing the Bean boots for about 40 years, I finally treated myself to pair, and wish I had done so years ago. Roomy enough to wear with some bulky wool socks, I have been wearing them for chores and some early season Michigan deer hunting in some sloppy weather and terrain, and have been happy so far. Being uninsulated they won't the perfect frigid weather boot, and the same flexibility that makes them so comfortable won't make them ideal for truly rigged terrain, but they are great at what they are intended for. Very much enjoying them!

It has been so dry that I haven't even worn my new boots. Out of the box I can offer three insights: - Still nice textured leather as I remember Bean footwear as a kid, I would like even thicker. - The flannel lining has a good feel - it is a thin material. - All the talk of sizing is true - I ordered a half size down from normal and could have gone a full size down. The extra room will make way for thicker socks. Looking forward to using in slush and such...Still well made and good looking!

Well-made boots that look stylish. They run very large though. I typically wear a size 12 boot. Had to return and order a 10.5. They fit great now. Happy customer.

I purchased these as a gift. Take note of the sizing before purchase. It is recommended to size down 1/2 due to fit. Luckily he had tried them on in a store. I purchased online because a discount was offered. He wears them instead of his usual cowboy boot for the winter weather here in the Northeast. He said the fit feels like you should be wearing a heavier sock. He is happy with them.

True .5 size down for this style. Love the leather.

The recommendation to buy a half size down is spot on. Fit is GREAT. Fit and finish is excellent. This makes for a nice slush and rain busting boot.

Love these boots! I usually wear a size 8 but I had to get a 6.5 in these. I originally ordered size 7.5 and they were WAY too big. The return process was simple and quick. I walked all day around Philadelphia in 30 degree weather and never got cold or sore feet. I find they fit me better with thick boot socks. Getting the right size is definitely tricky but you'll know it when you got it. Buy these boots!!

Bought these for my daughter who wears size 10.5 women's sneakers. Since these are the same boots as the women's but the "mens" were on sale, I bought her an 8 mens. They are exactly as advertised. Fit great. Sized down. Love the quality and she has been educated to resole them when she's older and the bottoms wear down. Love that LLBean does that! Reduce the waste and keep using your fav boots!

The sizing is a little different but they explain it pretty well on the website but I love the overall feel of the boot.

Today it was cold and rainy in New Hampshire so I decided to wear my new Bean Boots for the first time ever. They run a touch big but no match for a nice pair of thick socks! Between the parking lot and my office, I walked through no less than 6 puddles and my feet stayed bone dry. These boots were made for walking (and keeping feet dry) and that's just what they do! I absolutely love my boots. Never had the lined ones but they are cool. Looking forward to traipsing around in the woods with them.

Have been wearing a pair of LL Bean boots for over 70 years. They are the best that I have found for comfort and quality. Have worn them in the field and on the office in many occasions. Nothing beats these bootsnothing.

I wanted a pair of lined Bean Boots and loved the plaid flannel and the color combo on sale in the men's version. Wearing them now in eastern Arizona mountains. It's about 76 F and my feet are comfy, not sweating either. I recommend buying Bean Boot socks for all Bean Boots. I put the boots on as soon as they arrived and wore them to the market. Surprisingly very comfortable and warm while walking around New York City. No break in time required. Yee-Haw.
