Stiff around the ankle and heel, a lack of cushioning, and despite ordering my normal 8, there's way too much extra space, even with thick socks. A shame, as they're otherwise visibly cute. Returning.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I was excited for the zero drop and wide toebox of a barefoot shoe but still padding and protection of a hiking boot. I purchased the "all weather" version to keep my feet dry and warm. I wore them on one hike, and water leaked in through the toe area. I didn't even have my foot submerged to the bottom laces let alone any deeper than that. The water instantly soaked through the part that goes over the toes. I am heartbroken, because zappos changed their return policy to not accept shoes that have been worn. So now I am out $180 on shoes that won't do what they say they will do. I can't afford to be making these kinds of mistakes. :(

With the tiniest bit of dew on the grass, these shoes seem to soak water up instead of keeping it out. And it's not a sweat issue. You can wear them for two minutes in wet grass and instantly feel as your socks and then feet begin to get drenched. So disappointing. I really need waterproof shoes and don't have this much money to throw away. The shoes that don't claim to be waterproof are actually better because they will dry in 1-2 days. These "waterproof" shoes will take weeks to dry. Even when not worn in the rain!!

The laces get caught in the hooks. I nearly fell twice in 10 minutes.

I've worn lone peaks across Patagonia, through the Dolomites and even for the entirety of the John Muir Trail. They've been my absolute favorite show due to the wide toe box. Over the years Altras have continued to get narrower and narrower. I can't even wear the newest model if I go up 2 sizes. I'm bummed they've made such drastic changes to a shoe that got such a positive following amongst backpackers in its early iterations.

I purchased these last year and was not impressed. The hooks at the top ankle section where the laces go through are open unlike the earlier versions that are closed. My laces from one shoe kept catching on the hook from the opposite shoe and tripping me on trail. I must have tripped because of that at least 3 times last summer and once gave me a black eye when I fell. Please go back to the closed loops.

This is my third pair of Altras and it's a fail. They're much smaller than my previous lone peaks. The toe box pinches and I have bruised my toenails. Size up.

I have worn several pairs of low-rise Altras for hiking over the years, but these are my first boots. After only a few times wearing them on sidewalks and relatively well-groomed trails, I notice tears in the uppers on both left and right shoes. My other Altras have never shown this wear, even after many times hiking on the same trails. I'm so disappointed! I expected better durability from these Altra boots.

A black upper for an all-weather trail shoe is FANTASTIC. The while sole is useless. Why did Altra ruin one of the best shoes they offer? Please bring back the black upper/black sole Lone Peak All-Weather Mid.
