I absolutely love these. I've had two pairs of altras so far and these ones are my favorites. They have a lot of cushion and good alignment for my feet. I generally have a lot of foot pain in most shoes due to a foot surgery but these ones feel great.

I have about 18 years of running injury history -- it's a saga. My most recent nagging problem is that I tend to want to land on the outside of my left foot, causing major peroneal tendon problems and more. These shoes help me to get my entire foot on the ground quicker (instead of all the force staying on the outside of my foot) and have gotten me back to running -- going on a month now. My only complaint is that the light color (I have gray) shows everything! I look like a total slob!?! :( I'm going to order black next. NOTE: I found the Hoka Bondi also solves this problem of me landing on the outside, but it has different problem in that the toe box is too narrow, so I get pinched nerves in my right foot (around 4th metatarsal) when I wear the Bondi. THANK YOU, Altra! My entire family wears your shoes -- except my youngest since you don't make kids sizes anymore.

I walk on an indoor track daily, wearing these shoes; and am very pleased with the traction.

Got these shoes for longer distances and do not recommend for anything under 10 miles. The plush is not good for speed on the short runs. Love the way my feet feel supported during the long runs and very happy they added additional colors!

Best shoe for my Morton's neuroma. Very grateful to find a natural foot shape with zero drop and high cushion. This shoe let me get back to running. No more foot pain.

I got these a half size up and they're perfect. I hope you make more in the original width. The others are of no use to me. I got these to help with my achilles tendon pain. Love the wide toebox and the cushioning. They remind me of hoka bondi 7 but my foot feels like it sits so deep in the hoka & the hoka's have terrible pointy toebox. These are my favorite so far.

I like having extra toe space, so I have many different pairs of Altras for trail or road running and hiking. Altras give my feet the space they want and I don't have wide or narrow feet but I prefer a shoe that is neutral and lets my foot spread out and Altras do the trick. I bought the Via Olympus road shoes for longer distances as I am getting into Ultra events. I wore Altra Lone Peaks for a 36 hour endurance event and my feet were happy the entire time. I wore these running shoes straight out of the box for a 1/2 marathon when I got them and my feet were perfectly content. I am used to minimal shoes so although other reviewers say these shoes are "hard or stiff" for the amount of stack they have I felt they were great! I have never worn Hokas or another high cushioned running shoe and so to me going from Altra Outroads to the Via Olympus I felt the cushion was a nice benefit from not feeling the rocks under my feet. I do lace them up all the way using the heel lock holes, it gives a more secure fit. I also normally wear a 6.5 in my Altras but sized up to a 7 for these since I'd be running longer distance and really wanted to accommodate my feet swelling. I have 3 pairs of Altra Lone Peaks all in size 6.5, 2 pairs of Altra Outroads in 6.5 and a size 7 and 2 pairs of the Altra Via Olympus in 7s. The Via Olympus toe box fit similarly to the Lone Peaks. The Outroads are narrower but are good for a more secure fit and shorter runs.

I cannot express how happy I am with this runner, having metatarsal surgery, I thought running was ended but no more - I am over the moon with how they fit, I don't have to worry about impact and simply enjoy a good run. I ran my 1st mile since a few years and I cried happy tears- I can get myself back

Because I have arthritis in my feet, I need the wide toe box only Altra offers. I'm 75 years old and this is the best shoe yet (I just ordered another pair). Puhleeze don't discontinue the original foot fit shape!

Finally! A shoe with a comfortable width and a big toe box. Altra Via Olympus really made walking fun again. I was dedicated to another brand for 20 years, but no more! The natural foot shape of an Altra shoe does not squeeze my foot at all. No more Runner's toe for me! Plus, the Via Olympus is so much lighter than my old brand. I liked these so much that I recently purchased a second pair. I am slender, size 9.5 shoe and walk 3 miles daily on a path with lots of inclines.

I tried about 4 pairs of the new standard fit shoes and sent them all back. I really hope Altra makes more styles with the original fit. I am normally a size 8.5 in Altra and size 9 worked for me.

As someone on their feet all day and with bunions that will need surgery in a year or so, these shoes are the difference between being able to work and not being able to do my job every day.

I don't run but I have plantar fasciitis, even with custom podiatrist made orthotics. These shoes really helped me because of the high stack but I did have to add heel insoles to modify the zero drop.

This shoe has quickly become my new everyday essential. As someone who was loyal to minimalist tennis shoes like OnCloud and APL, this shoe has completely changed the game for me. Walking in my old minimal shoes now feels like stepping on cardboard. This shoe is comfortable and supportive and stylish. Added bonus is that, despite the "bulkier look" they make my size 10.5 feet appear smaller. Currently ordering a 2nd pair in orange!

I got a size 10 (my normal size) and it pinched my toes on my long foot terribly. A 10.5 is perfect for me. What I was delighted with, is that even with custom insoles, shoes usually wear out quickly at 15 miles/day. Most shoes seem to be designed for the most common problem pronation. So finding these for my supinating feet was an incredible blessing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this shoe to anyone who quickly wears out their outside soles at the heel.

I have the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. It effect all my joints and my feet. I discovered Altar several years ago after an exhaustive search for a shoe that not only did not hurt my feet, but also gave me stability and mobility. I was in love immediately. Within a few days, I was walking normal and didn't need a scooter or crutches. Since then, I have purchased 5 pairs. I always go for traditional Altar fit and as max cushion as possible. I've only had my new pair a few weeks, but I already love them. Each pair lasts me at least year before any real wear is noticable. As the cushioning wears a bit, I get a new pair and put the older pair back for days when I might get them dirty, doing yard work or when it's rainy and muddy. I feel like I've gotten my life back. I have to save for the shoes, but I am petitioning Medicare and other insurance to recognize my need as they do diabetes. They can get a new pair if shoes each year on Medicare. I wear knee braces and can't run, so I can't speak to that aspect. But if you have severe foot pain and flat feet like, they are like a miracle. The Via Olympus is thicker soled than my last pair, but that's fine with me. I have no complaints so far.
