I bought these about 5-6 months ago hoping they would be great for trail running & walks. They are OK for trail walking, but awful running shoes. Experienced left foot pain, which has not happened in my previous running shoes. I would not recommend buying these.

I wasn't impressed with the feeling of it or the feel. Seemed made to cheap for the price

I have been wearing the new Challenger 7 GTx for 3 weeks. In hopes of finding the problem, I bought different types of socks thinking that they would solve the problem, pros: lightweight, waterproofcons: not comfortable at all, thin inside sole. It hurts to walk with and you can feel the lining.

I need all the cushioning I can get, and so far the bondi 8's feel the best to me. These seem very hard on bottom, but they are lighter weight than bondi 8's, and waterproof. If cushioning isn't your main priority, u might give these a try.

I love that these shoes feel comfortable enough (the plush Hoka shoes make my feet go numb), they're waterproof and mostly all black - all things I really want and like, but I've had them 2 months and the raised parts of the sole are peeling off like an orange peel! Sooo disappointing that they're falling apart after only two months of use. And then they tell me I need to pay for shipping to return them, get a credit, and re-purchase them (which would take how long and still cost shipping?) all to get a replacement for a flawed product? Such a shame.

I bought these to replace the Hoparas that I used to walk my dog. The lugs on the Hoparas wore down in less than five months, so I thought a trail running shoe (Challenger GTX) would be a better option. These shoes were very narrow and I don't have wide feet. I've never bought wide shoes in my life. I own Bondi 8, Bondi SR, Hopara, Kaha and Gaviota and they all fit and feel like a dream. Not the Challenger. I'm not saying it's a bad shoe, maybe it is better suited for trail runners rather than trail dog walkers, but this shoe was an immediate return. They were so tight that there is no way I could walk out of the house with these on.

These shoes hurt my feet. They are very narrow across the ball of the foot and the material is stiff. Otherwise well made. If you have a narrow foot these might work for you.

I normally love Hoka shoes. I have Morton's neuroma, so I need a wider toe box. This shoe has a very narrow toe box, it's nothing like the picture. I'm very disappointed in Hoka. Their shoes have become a cheaper made version of the Hoka shoes I once owned. Sadly, I will be returning.

The shoe was very stiff, much less comfortable that the Clifton style I had purchased previously from HOKU.

Fit was ok but feels like running with two cardboard boxes on your feet, idk how people run in these. I like Brooks and usually only get them, I wanted to try Hokas since I’ve heard such good things and wanted a pair of waterproof shoes but these just feel heavy and boxy and they might run a tad big in my opinion. Will be returning.

I personally don't like shoes that don't have adjustable tongue. My foot has a big arch and slip in style shoes tend to be difficult for my foot to slide in. That's the only down side to this shoe style .On the plus side plenty of tread/grip and good amount of Cushion.

I have Rincon 8B, Bondi 8D, Clifton 8D , Arahi 8D , Challenger 6 8.5B and the new orange colored challenger 7 size 8.5 B. Sooo sad to return the new orange Challenger 7. Maybe it's the challenger series ( my other challenger 6 was so-so too. The orange color combo was very attractive, But my little pinky is sore and achy for a couple of weeks. The other series were good, the Challenger was just not for me.

This is the first time I purchased a HOKA brand shoe. I got my normal size and when they came although they looked very large like they were not my size - they were my size. But when trying them on they were very tight and too narrow.

Disappointed as otherwise nice. I ordered medium width (I have quite narrow feet). A wide would not solve the problem- it is too shallow in height over the toe joint (and a normal toe, not a bunion etc). (also a wide doesn't suit the rest of my foot and my narrow heel)

I definitely happy with my shoes but I feel it too wide. After a couple wearing it line found it in front like breaking between toes and middle of the shoe surface.

I really wanted this shoe to be "the one." I've been looking for supportive shoes that won't get soaked when I go on the trail. Unfortunately, it was way too narrow. I hope they consider making wide sizes for the GTX lines.

At first they felt super comfy. I liked the cushioning. I walk for a living (mail carrier) and halfway thru my route the top of my left shoe was rubbing my big toe. I thought it might be a "breaking them in" issue but I couldn't wear them for long the next day. I currently wear my Hoka Challengers but I'm looking for their replacements now. The search continues.
Oh, and I had read reviews that they run small, so I had ordered them a half size bigger than my usual size.
