Wish I would have read reviews. Now I've worn them and can't return. Too long, I slide in them. Finally the width is right (other wides ended up narrow?)

Wow what a disappointment. The heals felt cheap and when you put them on, yes they were light but there was no support. My run went to a 9.20 from an 8.40 in clifton 7s so the latest is not the greatest. I want another pair of clifton 7s. My back and knees hurt, but my heel spurs didnt so there's ending on a good note.

Some friends highly recommended Hoka shoes. The ones I got had a weird tab like an elf ear on the back that made them feel strange. I took them to the Hoka store on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, CA, to exchange them. None of the sales staff standing near the counter greeted me or asked to help me. I approached one and said I wanted to return shoes I'd gotten online and see other walking shoes. He didn't show me the models on display, just went into the bac, brought me a pair, and said that was the only thing in my size. Seriously? The laces were messy and he didn't offer to help me further but I tried them on. They didn't feel great. When I removed them I noticed that the bottoms were dirty. Were these shoes that had been tried by someone and returned? They definitely were not new. A truly disappointing experience for something that had been highly recommended. Not sure if I'll try Hokas again as the customer service sucked.

I was stoked to get these shoes to walk/jog in because I have knee trouble and hoped the extra cushion would be good for my knees. Unfortunately these shoes were very uncomfortable and my feet hurt every time I wear them for any extended period. It may be that they are too cushioned and/or don't have good arch support. Either way they are not the shoe for me

First problem I encountered was with sizing! The 5.5 was too big so I decided to size down but 5 was way too small and narrow. Decided to just go with the bigger size and wear thick socks. After wearing them for a few hours I noticed the tongue part was rubbing against my ankle bone and no amount of readjusting fixes it. They are by far the most painful shoes I have ever worn. I wish I could return!!

I would not purchase these again. They are cheaply made. Ankles are taller and made my ankles hurt. I returned them. My last 2 pairs (older versions) have been great. I will be ordering the Clifton 8's.

I am thinking these are meant for younger feet. I am 68, an avid walker, jogger but the pressure it put on my toes caused me pain for days after wearing. I was so excited to get them but now they sit in the closet, not sure I will try again. Not good for people with arthritis in their toes.

What happened? I had 2 pairs of Clifton 8s. They were amazing. The 9 is so painful it's like a torture device. I felt so much better after taking them off.

Very good for running but not good for being on your feet all day, feet started to hurt after 6 hrs of wear.

It's definitely not as plush as the Clifton 8. I instantly felt more pain on my supination and my hamstrings were SO sore after a 3 mile run. I specifically bought the 8 bc of the supination. It sucks that when they tried to "improve" it to Clifton 9 they made it worse. I would understand if it were any other aesthetic shoes but hokas are supposed to orthopedic. It definitely defeats the purpose. Also what's the issue with the Wide? Why can't they make the same colors at the regular size???

Purchased to wear for walking and work. I stand for 8+ hours during work. Within 2 hours the pain in my foot bones was terrible. I purchased three pairs of different shoes and wanted any or all of them to be my new shoe/shoes. I love the colors, but have NEVER had so much pain from a shoe.

I gave the Clifton 9 sneaker a try and sent it right back. The Bondi line has spoiled my feet. I'm on my feet all day and know when a shoes is not for me and the Clinton 9 still does not make the cut. They feel cheaply made..

In my opinion, the changes made took away from what I loved about the clifton- which was a comfortable right out of the box great shoe. The 9 base in now too thick and makes walking or running feel awkward as a lot of the hoka shoes do for me. I returned them and bought an additional pair of clifton 8's on sale, even though all the good colors were sold out. Hopefully the next version will take away some of the height added to the 9 and I can go back to the clifton series or else I will have to find a new shoe to love. Also I realize Hoka prides themselves on their color choices, but just so you know, MANY people want a basic color (such as gray color of the 8's) for a choice in every single athletic shoe. I have had dozens of people ask me about where to find the gray clifton 8's, but sadly they sold out long ago and more were never made.

Let me start by saying I love Hoka and ONLY wear Hoka. I wear the Rincon for every day walking but use the Clifton 8 for running and racing. Was so excited when the Clifton 9 came out. I wore them once and noticed the ball of my foot was burning, too much movement in the toe box. I usually wear a wide so I figured maybe I would try the regular...too narrow. I decided to try another run in the 9. When I got home (5 miles) I had a blister between my big toe and 2nd toe. My sister also wears Clifton 8 to run. She got a massive blister between her 2nd and 3rd toe. Problem is the toe box is too wide and my feet slip around too much...trying the regular width did not help. I packed them up and sent them back and ordered 2 pair of Clifton 8.

I've been on a journey to try to get myself a pair of Hoka Cliftons for about a year now. My interest peaked when the pastel hue line came out and I fell in love with the Clifton 8 green color. I ordered myself a 8 and an 8.5 because that's what I usually am in athletic shoes. Both were too small/tight and the return process was a nightmare so I gave up for a little bit. Fast forward to the release of the Clifton 9. This time I ordered my usual 2 sizes but this time in Wide to see if that was going to help. Tell me why these run so incredibly large? I had to size down to a 7.5 Wide just for the length of the shoe to fit me properly. I have never been anything smaller than an 8 in shoes. I still have yet to be refunded for this return as well and will probably have to go through the same excruciating process to get my money back.
Overall I'm really upset that my foot just isn't meant for these shoes. They're truly so comfortable and I think they're super cute, but I can't justify the price if they aren't fitting me properly..

I ordered 2 pairs of the Clifton 9's the first day they were released. Loved the color choices and was extremely excited for them to arrive. I wear my Clifton 8's every day for my morning workout and afternoon walk around the neighborhood. I've tried to convince everyone I know to buy a pair of Hokas because of those shoes. They're just the best!!
The 9's are really terrible! The cushioning feels different, and significantly harder than the 8's. The heel sits lower on the 9's than on the 8's. And, the worst part, the ankle area rises higher and rubs the entire shaft of my ankle. Ouch!
Hoka, I wear your shoes religiously and shout your praises to everyone I know. These 9's missed the mark, please go back to the drawing board for the 10's and make them more like the 8's and 7's.

Hola recommended these to me for cross training. They are way too soft and totally unstable for anything with weights.
