My feet are always cold but the upper on this new version of Clifton 9 was much too hot. The foam felt clunky and sizing was a mess. Normal 9.5 I wear was too long. The 9 felt ok but too narrow. Tried 9 wide version and foot was swimming. I'll stick with my Brooks.

I work in a grocery retailer store, so I am on my feet 8-10 hours a day on hard concrete flooring. These were recommended to be the perfect shoes for my place of work, but they are probably the least comfortable shoes I have. If I hadn't thrown away my box so soon, I would've returned them immediately. After an hour-2 of working, my heels are in the worst pain possible where I am having to stand on my tip toes to relieve the pressure.

I honestly want to love these shoes, but the truth is my feet hurt so bad when I wear them. My husband told me I need to break them in its been 3 weeks and no change. I recommend doing your research because I just brought the wrong pair.

This style is narrow and firm. Will be trying a different style.

Nicely made and good looking. My hopes were high but they just didn't make my feet happy. Hard to describe the issue but my arch still hurt and they were too wide, even though they are considered regular width.

Loved the comfort of the shoes but only wore them for 4 hours with socks and my shoes were stinky and I had to wash the inserts after only one day I never have had this happen after wearing once

I use Hoka shoes mainly for daily walking and possibly an occasional run. The Clifton 9 was 1/2 size too big and I could've gone down a full size. I wear a 7 in the Bondi 7, and the 6.5 in the Clifton 9 I was swimming in. I have a narrow foot so the front of the shoe felt super large to me. Cushioning was pretty good as I prefer a plush feel when I walk. But overall, the color selections were weak, the arch support wasn't there and each step felt 'off' in this style.

Excellent construction for ball of feet, I purchased wide to accommodate bunion and non-union broken toe. However the shoe is a higher profile and chafes my ankle bone. May not be appropriate for women with petite builds.

I needed something that had lots of support (plush, like listed). It isn't plush enough for me.

Not my favorite shoes to run in, I feel like they get too much hype for what they're worth. They are very soft but it is too soft to run in. I like the design of the Clifton 8s better than the 9s.

They hurt my calves when walking a problem I don't have in the Clifton 8's. Returning both pairs I bought.

I would be embarrassed to tell you how many pair of Clifton
6s, 7s, 8s I have in my closet. So, suffice to say, I am a big fan of the Clifton. I love this shoe. I trust this shoe. I love and trust this shoe for all the reasons we longtime, diehard, loyal fans of the Cliftons already know and hold dear that have been listed in previous comments. I fitness walk in CompleteCliftonComfort many miles every day. When I wear out the soles of the 2 pair I rotate between, I get another pair from my closet and I'm good to go.
Truth be told, I did not need the Clifton 9s. I bought them because I wanted them and apparently, I have poor impulse control. In my defense, the Bellwether Blue/Ceramic just looked so snazzy, I couldn't resist.
I was really excited for the 9s to arrive, and when they finally made it to my front porch, I dropped what I was doing (nothing, really), dashed to the door, brought the box inside, opened it up, and to my delight, the Bellwether Blue/Ceramic color was just as appealing as it'd looked online. I took off the Cliftons I was wearing and put on the 9s, took a few steps, and wait. What?! I walked the hardwood floor from one end of my house to the other. What was this uncomfortable stranger on my foot?! Was this a prank? A joke?! Had Hoka pulled a switcheroo on me? And what in the world was that odd duckpout heel? this unwelcome interloper could not possibly be the latest incarnation in the long line of shoe perfection, thE Clifton?!
Alas, it was.
Sparing all the details, Hoka changed all that made the Clifton the Clifton.
I cannot tell you why. I don't know.
Nor am I going to list all my grievances with this very different, unClifton Clifton. If you've been a longtime Clifton loyalist, you already know why.
This is a very different model. .
Maybe you'll be a fan. I wasn't.
Sadly, I repacked them in the box from whence they came and sent them back.
Sometimes, new isn't better.
Sometimes, if it ain't broke, please (please) don't fix it.

Hello. I have been wearing clifton since the "6" version and on and have loved them all the way through until now. The 9's are just a different shoe....longer and harder and just a poor fit. So disappointed!!! What have you done and why!!??!!

I was so excited when the Clifton 9's came out. The new colors!!!! So I ordered a pair. These are not the Clifton 8s. I have had 7 pairs of the 8s and love them. The 9s however are not the same. I have a lot of issues with my feet - plantar fasciitis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis to name a few - and, from the moment I put the 9s on, all of these issues, especially the plantar fasciitis, were inflamed. I tried to wear them for a few days thinking that, if I broke them in, they'd be okay. They weren't. The only 2 good things I can say about the 9s are the toe box is wider and the colors are great. Please, HOKA, go back to the footbed of the 8s. Why do shoe companies always fix what isn't broke???

These Clifton 9 are supposed to be more plush, they are painful to stand in .Walking feels like I'm wearing wedges which I don't like ,it does prevent me from walking on the outsides of my feet but the bottom of my heels ache. I've had these for about two and a half weeks wearing them every day. Also they are not attractive shoes.
I'm very disappointed and would not buy these again
For reference I'm 5'6 about 210lb
Please hurry and restock the black/ black Clifton 8

I am hooked on Bondi 8. I thought I would try the Clifton 9, but I miss the extra cushioning.
If you don't need the extra padding (like I do), I would recommend Clifton 9 to a friend.

This show is too MUSHY! No support - wish I had read the reviews before ordering as this is a common complaint on various websites including the Hoka site. I will be returning them. Too expensive to settle for less than perfect.

Poorly made- the treads fall off the shoes withminimal cross traiing use, and the HOKA company does not stand by their 1 yr warranty for normal use.

Was super disappointed with this shoe. I heard great things about Hoka shoes but I won't be buying another pair. I purchased the shoes in January and hardly wore them. In June, the treads on the bottom of the shoes started separating. Started with one piece and expanded to several treads coming loose. I ended up gluing them back together but for a shoe with very little wear, this was unexpected especially after hearing how "good" they were supposed to be.

Horrible. Less than six months after purchasing, the sole kept peeling off in layers. Also no support—foot overly cushioned and floating. Foot would often hurt if walked in these longer than 45 minutes because no arch support. An absolute joke of a shoe in its clownish look, support, and especially durability.
