I walk most of my day in a clinic. These shoes caused extreme discomfort in my leg.

The style of the shoe is really nice. It's good quality. I have a narrow heel so the hard molded heel cup doesn't fit well. It slips, no matter how I lace them. I returned the Clifton 9 & ordered the Bondi 8, Which for like a glove. The Clifton is a nice shoe but not a good fit for me.

I love the stability of the shoe and the fact that it's not mesh. However, a triangle piece of my sole ripped off within 2 weeks with light use of the sneaker. I expected better durability for the price.

I was very disappointed with the Clifton 9. The tongue is too long and it irritates my ankles on each side. I've resorted to only tying the laces halfway up so it's not a very snug fit, but it's better than my ankles hurting.

I have run in the 7 and the 8 for quite awhile- so when I purchased the 9 OMG? What did they change in this shoe? I had to go up a size to just get them to fit without crushing my toe. After that, they still hurt. Not only can I not run in them I can barely use them for daily wear. I am beyond disappointed . I have 5 pairs of the 8's and a pair of version 7. The 9's will be returned. I'm crushed as these were my holy grail of shoes.

These were too big. I'll have to figure out what size I need. So far in the Clifton 9 I haven't found a good fit unfortunately.

I wear them to work where I average 8 to 11 miles a day on concrete floors. The fit is perfect and they are very light weight but 2 hours in and my toes are feeling like they are broken. Not recommended for plantar fascitis in my opinion

Comfortable shoe. Like the style. I prefer a more neutral colored shoe. Just an FYI, this is a stark white shoe. Very bright white. Because of this I ended up doing an exchange. A few other things that made me exchange this shoe is that I didn't like how high up/big the tongue felt. And if you have any color on your sock you can see the color right through the shoe.

I bought this shoe after getting my first pair of Hokas last yearI suppose it was the Clifton 8 shoe. Disappointed right from the start that the color wasn't a solid black like the 8's. Also, the support doesn't seem to compare. I could walk in my 8's all day and my feet would not be sore. A one hour workout in the 9's and my dogs are barking. Not sure I'll be a repeat customer when I need a new pair

I walk and stand all day and have no fatigue or pain with my Clifton 8's. My Clifton 9's however don't offer the same support. After 8+ hours on my feet wearing the 9's I cannot wait to sit down and take them off. Very disappointing. The Clifton 8's are so much betterthe best shoes I've ever owned.

Not cushy or supportive enough. Feet hurt after wearing. Will try Bondi again, or switch brands.

I always wear a 9, the toe box was smaller with my orthotics so I exchanged for a 9 wide! Not comfortable at all! To big yet rub my little toe! Tried to exchange but was not allowed! I would rather have Clifton 8. I love Hoka Clifton and will continue to buy but the Clifton 9 is just not for me!

I have to agree with other reviews - I love the Clifton 8 more. The 9's have GREAT color options - which is fun. The fit has changed alot - I always wear a wide but in the 9 - it is SO much bigger in the front part of the shoe that I went down to regular. So for those of you with narrow feet - this will likely not be a winner. Overall - I'm always excited for new Hokas - this time - the excitement is really around the colors, not the style changes or fit of this shoe. It's still comfortable but not the perfection of it's predecessor.

my first impression when putting on these shoes was that they were very comfortable and quite plushy. however they felt very narrow, even though i have narrow feet and they cut off my foot circulation when running. when i ran in them, i had to continually fix the lacing as i couldn't seem to get fully comfortable without it being too tight in one area. i bought them in a 7.5 and that size worked for my other hokas which were the mach 5. these shoes are very comfortable when walking and running slow but i would not recommend for faster speeds.

I liked the color. The toe box is wider than the Clifton 8 which is good but I needed a larger size to fit the length so these shoes look like monsters on my feet. They seem almost too wide and don't hug my feet quite enough side to side. They seem a little stiff. I use them for walking . It's interesting that I measure just barely over a size 8 but when buying athletic shoes I need a 9 or at least a 9. I'm 5' 5" and weigh 124 lbs.

This Clifton 9 is shorter than the Clifton 8 which is very disappointing indeed. I sent them back. I'm wondering why this has happened that they would have shortened the length. I have 8 pair of Hoka so I'm sure of my size and now I'll need to readjust. Clifton 8 was perfect.

I have used these for walking, running and spin. To be honest, I do not really like these and I have 2 other pairs of Hokas, which I love so so much. These are not even close to the other two pairs (Arahi 6 and Clifton 7, I believe). 1st. These are not comfortable like other designs, like the Arahi 6. These are stiff, and are not comfortable to walk in. The fin on the end hurts my ankle after a while. 2nd - these do not fit like other Hokas. They RUN LARGE, which doesn't make for a comfortable run, as they tend to slide back and forth as I run. I always always wear a 6.5 in Hokas. 3rd - the insoles in these are pretty stiff. the outsole is in fact, plush, which is fine, but it isn't comfortable to wear when walking, as the heel box is lower than the rest of the shoe- yes, you read that correctly. 4th - the tongue also hurts my foot because it sits too high. It chafes when running and is not comfortable. I am so disappointed. I usually love Hokas. I was invited to a test run and I will not be attending because I am so unsatisfied with this model, and the service I was provided. All things said, I do not recommend these - depending on what you're looking for. I will probably return. I thought about sizing down, but it feels like a waste of money, as they are not comfortable. I purchased a 6.5 and in Sand. I will probably return these if I still can. It's such a shame because I really wanted to love these. The color is so cute, but the feel...ain't it, guys.

I have two pairs of Kawanas and I love them. The Cliftons are also great shoes but not for people that need arch support or pronate inwards. I had to return and got y 2nd pair of Kawanas instead since I know those work best. If you have flat feet or need arch support, these aren't the style for you. I would recommend for those that don't need the above.

I have several of the Clifton 8s and the same size in the Clifton 9 is longer so I may have to order a 1/2 size smaller the next time. That was a bit of a disappointment but I didn't return them because I wanted to see if it would make a difference in performance.

I purchased a pair of Clifton 7 a few years ago and I was very happy with them. The new Clifton 9's I purchased are not as comfortable. I wear low socks and the tongue on the new Clifton 9 are very scratchy. Unfortunately, I will be returning my shoes. The 8's are too small and the 8.5 are too big. My original purchase of the Clifton 7 was a size 8.

This was my first try of Hokas and while they are certainly "cool" right now, I didn't like them enough to keep. I chose this particular style for stability but didn't like how big they fit as well as wide and unwieldy the platform felt. I'm going to my tried and true Brooks Glycerin GTS Stealth- which provide great stability but feel tighter and closer on the foot (like I won't trip all over myself).

Hoka is my favorite brand of athletic shoes and I have three pairs of Clifton 8. When Clifton 9 came out, I ordered a pair in my usual size, 8.5 B. I loved the extra cushioning but the shoes were too big. When I went down a size and tried on an 8B, they were a bit too small. Glad that I have my three Clifton 8s. I hope that when Clifton 10 comes out, Hoka returns to the sizing Clifton 8 but keeps the plushness of Clifton 9.
