To start I think I would've sized a half size down in the shoe. I am between a 7 1/2 and an eight and I think a 7 1/2 would've fit me better, I found myself tying my shoes, really tight, and I think this may have resulted in why my shoes wore down so quickly. I've worn a lot of running shoes in my life, and was surprised at how quickly the back of these heels worn down, after not even having them for a year overall, I might end up re-purchasing simply because I was fairly satisfied, and I am not sure what other brands of shoes provided the cushion these gave.

I am a little disappointed with the changes made to the Clifton 9 from the Clifton 8. I have very sensitive ankles from past surgeries and the version 9 seems to be more stiff in the foam then the 8. I don't feel it gives as much in the plant of the heel when walking. Also the back of the shoe where to slide your heel in is much more prominent then the 8

So I loved my 2 pairs of Clifton 8. But they are no longer available. So I ordered the Clifton 9 but when I tried on my Clifton 9 they are wider in the toe box so they don't feel the same. Unfortunate.

I used shoe sreatch to add more toe bed room. My podiatrist recommended Hoka.

I can see why people like them - there's a lot of cushion. However, I have a narrow foot, and I'm on my feet all day and need a lot of support. It's not a great shoe for me - too much wiggle room and I was feeling pain in my ankles and arch by mid-day. I'll wear them for casual use, but I won't buy them again.

I absolutely loved these shoes because they are so cute and EXTREMELY comfortable. I bought the white pair which I knew was going to need more TLC. I've owned white shoes before, so I know what to do to keep them clean. I normally will spot clean until they're too dirty and then throw them in the wash. I've thrown shoes in the washer a million times without a problem, but for some reason, these shoes do not hold up in the wash. I am so sad because one wash destroyed my favorite shoes. The sole broke off in several places. Very frustrating because I loved them, but now they don't look nice. For the price that they are, you would expect them to hold up.

My new job involves 5-10 miles of walking per day, and no time to go shopping for shoes. I was really hoping these would provide the extra cushion and support that my feet are desperately craving. But if I'd been able to try them on in a store, I would never have bought them. They really don't feel very cushy. The arch support hits me in the wrong place, I'm constantly tripping over the bulky sole, and the top part is digging painfully into my ankles.

Not liking this as much as the Arahi. Got the same size and these feel too big. Not too cushy. They're fine.

The heel and foot support are good. However, when I tie my shoes as usual, I like them snug, but not too tight, the part of the shoe that goes around the ankle is uncomfortable. I have never had that discomfort with any other shoe, so I'm sure it is a design issue. I would think that another style of HOKA shoe would most likely fit more comfortably. But, since this is my first pair of HOKA's I have no idea what other kind of style to try.

The shoe was too cushy, too wide, even though I ourchased regular width. It also runs slightly big. I am a size 7 but could have easily fit into a 6.5 for a better, snuggier fit, which is what I prefer for a run.

I had to return these. After removing the Hoka innersole and replacing it with my orthotic, my socks kept slipping down and my hees slipped up. I dont have this issue with other athletic shoes.

Right shoe presses my ankle bone on the inside. I dont notice it while running, but I do if I walk or stand still, and after the run, the spot is sore.

The shoe is fine but the shoe lace does not match in both, one is longer than the other and it is quite uncomfortable for me. Otherwise the shoe is fine. I just don't understand why the laces are not the same

I purchased the shoes for exercise. I always buy a size up in walking shoes but these 8 1/2 are just too big so if I purchase again I would buy an 8. I would return for a 8 but I have worn them twice, I thought that they would work but after the second walk I realized that they were just too big.

It doesn't give me the comfort platform I traditionally get from HOKA. I usually get wide to accommodate all kinds of socks. Even with the wide my foot feels a little squeezed and the fit isn't what I expected. When I put my foot in al my older HOKAs there is no adjustment needed. This is not my HOKA.
I expect performance when I pay top money for an athletic shoe.

The size was correct however the footbed has changed from the Clifton 8 and is not nearly as comfortable!

The Clifton 9 make my feet hurt. There too narrow. Next time I'll buy the Clifton 8 since they are a lot more comfortable for me and are. better suited for my podiatric needs. They're too stiff and don't give out much which caused me to have back and foot pain

Hi! I've bought probably 6 pairs of the Clifton 8's and all of them were a size 10 wide. Love them all. I decided to try the new Clifton 9's so naturally I bought a size 10 wide. Way too big! Then a 9 1/2 wide - STILL too big! Finally settled on a 9 wide. Still love my ugly shoes!

Overall these were very comfortable, but then I started walking and it has a heel that rocks - which is exactly what would exacerbate my Achilles tendonitis. I am not sure how to explain it other than it encourages you to elongate you Achilles when you are on the heel. I would guess if I didn't have this condition - I might like this since it really make your step take off more - but for me this was a no go.

Love the color but the strap that is attached to the tongue makes the high arch very uncomfortable.

I am sold on the Cliftons and always get the new pair. Some versions are better than others. I am mainly an outdoor walker so I need them comfortable and durable which they usually are. These while comfortable ripped by the lace hole hence the 3 stars. I have only had them a month and a half.
