So much wanted to like these shoes , have problems with bone spurs , these didn't even help .I have always had a medium width foot and these were so tight and uncomfortable . the foot bed is just not wide enough. Sorry Hoka not for me.

I've only had these shoes for a few months (like 4-5) and I only use them for walking. The boot on BOTH shoes is splitting at the corners. This is super disappointing as they probably only have 10 miles on them in total. These shoes are not cheap, and this is my second pair of Hokas. I would expect them to last longer than a few months.

I've recently moved from using other brands to using models such as Bondi, Clifton, Kaha, and now Challender 7. I been so impressed with all running shoes that I've purchased 9 pairs. However with the Challenger 7 marked as a trail shoe, living in Colorado. I've had the apportunity to test them. I can honestly say, they are not made for rock/dirt trails. After my 1st use in the trails, my shoe sole tired quite a bit. I expect this to happen after a few weeks but not on my 1st week with the shoe. If have to think about what I'm buying from HOKA from now on.

These shoes are very comfortable but I have suffered from leg and calf pain since wearing them. I think the change in drop has been the issue.

I love Hoka's just this year I have purchased two pairs of Bond's, Ora recovery shoe, and Ora recovery slide. I purchased the Challenger 7's because I needed a wide "trail" shoe to do the occasional hike. The shoe like all my other Hoka's feel great and are comfortable. The issue is the lack of traction on anything other than hardpack. Any mixed surfaces I encountered and the shoe would break loose and not in a predictable manner especially on inclines and declines. The issue seems to be the lug depth and large flat area in the midsole that just skates across the surface, On flat roads or hardpack this is not a big deal and the shoe performs well. However ,on mixed terrain it is a problem which will come apparent quickly. Hoka likens the lug spacing to gravel tires and with that sport people put a lot of thought into the expected terrain and trade off between rolling resistance and traction to meet the demands of the terrain. If you choose incorrectly you might have lower rolling resistance at the expense of staying upright. Im not sure why they chose not to go with a Vibram sole and reduce the flat mid foot area with no lugs but the design choices limit the range of the terrain you will be safely able to traverse in this shoe. Now that they offer wide in the Speedgoat I will be switching to those for anything other than maintained hardpack flat trails.

I love the fit, but after only 2 weeks the material on the side of the soles is ripped and falling apart

I’ve been a very happy ASICS customer for many years and this is my first pair of Hokas. They were too narrow even though I bought them in EE. Will be exchanging them—unusable.

Shoes feel great but after just 2 weeks of light wear the shoes began to separate in certain areas. While the fit is great I wouldn't buy this again. Bad experience for first purchase.

Sorry, I've been wearing the shoes for a month now if I still can't get comfortable in them. I've tried them with the insoles that came with, with my custom orthotics, and with Dr. Scholl's insoles, and none of them really work. Not sure what it is because I have a normally narrow foot, but these feel too snug and I just can't get comfortable. I bought two different models and neither one is working for me.

Very bulky design and not that comfortable . Wore them twice figuring I had to break them in and it didn't help. Have 6 other pairs of Clifton 8's and love them. Should have sent these back

I ordered the gore tex version of this shoe first and had to return it because I needed a wide width. I wish Hoka would make the gore tex shoe in wide.

These hiking shoes hurt after light walking, despite my having new inserts. This was a big purchase. I'm disappointed.

These hiking shoes give me foot pain after a short period of light walking, despite having new shoe inserts. I see no difference versus my old non-Hoka hiking shoes. I'm disappointed. This was a big purchase for me.

The tread started to fall off the first week. The company would not send me a new pair until I returned. The old ones and the entire process was going to take at least 14 days completely unacceptable. Customer service given they sent me a defective product not to mention that when I wear than Eischen's really hurt and they are not useful to me at all.

I ordered 9w, but this shows are too heavy for running. I took them on a two mile run and it felt like I was doing a leg workout. I will be using them to work in the Emergency room instead. No complaints when I used them to work.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, aics, under Armour, nike

I bought these hoping that the promised pain relief would justify the high price. It did not. They are less effective than orthotic inserts, which are much cheaper.

I returned them. I had Achilles tendinitis and they hurt my heel. Nice shoes, just not comfortable with my foot problem.

The sole of the shoe came apart 3 weeks into having the shoe. Just walked around the office, I didn't get a chance to use on the road.

The rubber pieces of the sole started to come apart after buying on 6/25. Spent money sending back for warranty and they were returned saying it was over a year old-nope and it's normal wear and tear. If the rubber pieces start to fall off after a few months, these are not worth the money one bit. Trying Brooks instead.

Less than 8 months old and the rubber on the sole started separating from the sole. :/ Not ideal for a pricey pair of shoes. Sent in for warranty. Will see what the outcome is. My 1st pair of Hokas. Not impressed.
