Wanted a light weight but sturdy, non-GoreTex shoe for hiking. This wasn't it. I have wide feet with a hammer toe; these were wide enough but the toe box was just not tall enough for me.

This is my first HOKA shoes. The fit was perfect and shoes felt great during walk/run. Initially, I had small discomfort in both feet about 1.5 inches from the heel in the inside. It seems like the shoe design and it was OK after 4-5 days. Then I started seeing soft black debris inside shoes after the walks. The inside liner (inside the mesh, below the top holes of the laces) started to peel off. In about a week from purchase, about 3/4 inches inside liner worn off - both side of the shoes and both the shoes. Only outside mesh was remaining, and one could see light on the other side through the mesh. HOKA has excellent return policy and I decided to promptly return shoes for alternate HOKA shoes.

I bought these to have something with mild off road capabilities as I walk in the sandy arroyos next to my house with my dogs. They aren't particularly stiff enough for trail use. I think they make the soles a little larger surface for stability vs stiffness. I paid about $160 with tax and all in all they are ok for working out, walking, light running. But compared to the $60 Asics gtr-2000s I bought...they are inferior. I'd say they are inferior to my Nike Zoom structure shoes as well. The cushion is there but when actually exercising I just find them slightly cumbersome and less comfortable. My first and probably last Hoka purchase. Had to size up 1/2 for extra length. Width was fine.

Very nice shoe, but not for my feet. Feels a bit tight. Had to exchange it for another HOKA model.

The Challenger 7 is a good shoe, and I'm wearing it every day. I really like the beefed-up tread for my outdoor yard work. BUT, I really just wish it had the supportive feel and 'bounce' that my Bondi's have -- albeit with the off-road tread that the Challenger has.

I bought them because of great reviews for foot comfort. My experience has been just ok. I will still need to purchase insoles.

I like the look and feel of my challenger 7 shoes. Lots of compliments and they feel great for everyday walking at work. My issue is that the tread on the sole of the shoe is coming unglued and tearing of leaving me with just the white foam. Also when it comes loose it kinda poses a tripping hazard because the tread is hanging down and as you walk it grabs on the floor, causing me to stagger forward. I will gladly send pics of the tread. I do like my shoes and they look amazing. Just hate the tread issue. I have 3 pair of kokas right now but have had hokas for years. Maybe you can resolve future issues with the tread peeling off. Thanks.

I bought these for a gift for my husband. Unfortunately, he has not worn them much. He does not like the curve of the sole, which makes him walk funny. Also, the shoe cut is high and irritates his ankle.

Unfortunately these shoes fit smaller than all my other HOKA's so I had to return them.

I'm a larger guy, i run maybe 3 times a week, about 2 miles, it's a mix of trail and pavement.
A couple weeks ago I started hearing a weird noise and I looked at the bottom of my shoe and the tread was separating from the sole of the shoe, I'm currently waking for my refund credit for a new pair, in the meantime I'm back in my older pair of hokas that have held up great!!!

I started off when I bought these saying I'd buy another pair when the time came but after only 4 months I can't say that anymore. After about a month the heel started to ware through which has never happened to me with any shoe and after just 4 months of ware the outsole has started to delaminate and peel from the bottom of the shoe.

The toe box was very tight - uncomfortably tight. With normal, thin socks - not thicker socks.

I bought these for work, where I typically walk between 10,000 to 15,000 steps a day with frequent stopping and going. Initially, they felt comfortable, but by the end of my first shift, I could feel blisters forming on both of my pinky toes. After my second day wearing them, walking became painful. I ordered a 7.5 US Wide the lenght was perfect, but unfortunately, they weren't wide enough for me. Sadly, I won't be wearing them again. However, if you have slimmer feet, they might be worth trying!

Amazing how, just when you think the shoes couldn't get uglier and more objectively out of style, they do.

Did not work for my foot. My left foot was very cramped and while biking my shoelace got caught and ripped the eyelet out. I really wanted to like these but the more I wore them the worse they felt. This was my first pair of Hokas. I bought them on vacation so I'm out of luck.

They are hurting my feet so bad, at the end of the day when I take them off, it's such a relief. Also the top of my feet

I put over 460 miles on a pair of Hoka Mach 4s and over 700 miles on a pair of Hoka Arahi 5s before I got the Challenger 7s. I run primarily on a gravel type trail, so I thought the Challenger would be a better choice. The sole has been fine, but the inside heel area and either side of the toe box started tearing up probably halfway through the miles of my other two pair. The Arahis are in better shape and have way more miles. The Challengers also sit up higher, so it took some getting used to so I wouldn't roll my ankle. I think I may try another pair of Arahis.
