Pretty disappointed with the width on these. I've worn regular width and wide width Hokas previously. I ordered the Clifton 9s in the wide width and was shocked to find them to be tight in the front half of the shoe. It's almost like they mid-marked regular width shoes as wides. I've tried on the regular width version in a different color and can't detect a difference. Unfortunately, I wore them for a couple of days to see if they just needed breaking in (would be new for Hokas in my experience) and now they are "used" and no longer eligible for return. Bummer.

I have the Clifton 8's and like them a lot. Gave these a shot and was very disappointed. The comfort just wasn't there. I wore them for a few minutes the first night, and didn't notice any great discomfort, but I wore them the other day for a couple hours, and my feet were uncomfortable and falling asleep in them. I had to undo the laces just to finish the movie at the theater. I have 4 other pairs of Hokas, and these were more like the 2 I have in normal widths rather than the wide ones, even though these are wide. Even the two normal width pairs I have are more comfortable though.
I realize every foot is different, and the build quality on them is still great from what I can tell. I just figured they'd be more comfortable than the Clifton 8's that I love.

I ordered a wide but the fit was still too narrow in the mid section of foot. I had to return.

The first thing I did was to replace the insoles with Cadence insoles. Then when wearing them they were really too cushy. I returned them and bought a set of Bondi's and didn't replace the insoles. I think I should have tried the Clifton's with the insole they came with. Hope this helps someone.

I love all my HOKA shoes but I really wish I'd of chose a different color with these, they really don't match anything I wear.

Needed a 16. Tried these. Cushion is best in class. However, they narrowed in the toes. Tried to exchange for the Bondi that were on back order. Order was canceled due to availability.

I've had about 10-12 pairs of Hoka shoes, so truly a big fan. I purchased the latest versions of the Clifton and Bondi and all I can say is thar neither fits as well or is as comfortable as its predecessor. I have returned one pair and the jury is still out on the second. Usually that means cutting corners to maximize profit or putting form ahead of function. It's no secret that all of Hoka's marketing is directed towards a younger clientele but every person I see wearing Hokas is over 50.

Honestly, I feel like the Clifton 9 is lighter Bondi. It's to cushy for me. I wonder how they will separate the 2. Maybe good for some people, just not me.

Been wearing Cliftons for every-day running and as wear-arounds for the last 5 years and have to say that the 9s are very disappointing! The 8s were probably my all time favorite iteration, and the uppers were the best part of the shoe - they fit like a sock and gave enough cushion that they were incredibly comfortable. These completely undid what the 8s did so, so well. The upper is more rigid and allows for a lot more foot movement while running. I am pretty disappointed and hope they revert back for the 10s.

The shoe is very comfortable and lightweight. I am a basketball referee and these shoes save my knees. The only issue I have with the shoes is they are listed as an all black shoe and that is not the case. There is a great deal of grey in the shoe and is very contrasting to the black.

I loved my Clifton 8s had two pairs and they served me well. I tried two different pairs from the new Clifton 9s and the size and fitting were not the same. I wanted to like them so much but I gave up and switched to a different brand.

The wide fit was tight and the comfort wasn't quite like the other pairs I have bought in the past. I was rather disappointed as the pain has returned in legs and feet. I'm hoping I got a bad production cut.

The feel is not as good as 8. Whatever changed was not for the good.

I love the style and color of the Clifton 9 I purchased, and was excited to have a pair, after owning several pairs of the Bondi line over the years. They are lightweight, which seemed ideal for travel/packing! Unfortunately, we traveled to a place where a great deal of walking was going to happen: Disney. Hokas have always been a good friend to my feet at Disney, but again, I always wore the Bondi.
The Clifton was indeed light, but after a day of walking at Disney, they clearly felt too snug, and did not have the ideal amount of cushion for long days of walking. (Fortunately I had a pair of Bondis with me too!) The Clifton ended up causing a blister, even after having and wearing them for many weeks before the trip.
They may be perfect for someone else, but I've learned my expensive lesson and will stick with the Bondi from now on.

There is a terribly placed seam in the toe box, big toe makes contact with it on every foot strike. So far, have gone on two 5 mile runs and felt the seam rubbing my big toe. Blister waiting to happen on a longer run. Will mess around with the lacing pattern to get around it, if not successful back to Zappos and back to the 8s I go. Everything else about the shoe is great and Hoka as expected.

Although I love Hokas, these are my least favorite pair among my 6 Hokas. The Cliftons are not as comfortable as the Bondis, because the arch support hits in a slightly different place. In addition, I ended up really disliking this Nimbus Cloud/Steel Wool color, as it looks dingy and dirty even straight out of the box.

We are returning these because someone else wore them before sending to us. There is a stain on the right shoe and the bottoms of shoes show dirt

I have been wearing this running shoe for years. I go through several pairs a year. Something was off with the shoes that were shipped to me. The cushion and support felt different.
