4th pair, Dona lot of long distance hiking and general long walks with my dog twice a day. Super comfortable on pavement and as for the trail, the only shoes I havent had blisters from in a long time.

Very nice shoe, except the insole is glued in place. I use my own orthotics and have to remove the cheap factory installed ones for a proper fit. It took some doing, but I was able to remove it without much damage.

the shoe is lightweight and durable, great and comfortable for the trail, it developed a squeak when you walk in one shoe, and the shoe laces are far too long. one shoe was not quite balanced when I put them on, seemed my foot liked to fall to one side. still a good shoe, just a couple of items that the manufacturer needs to tweak. but overall, the quality I have come to expect in Merrill.

The insole seemed removable, but it wasn't. I could freely lift most of the insole out of the shoe, but the toe was glued down, and it seemed like the insole would tear off if I pulled any harder.

Another in many years of great Merrill shoes. Something was not right with this pair, so Merrill made it very easy to return I am going to reorder them in the next few days when restocked with the colors Id prefer

I've had 3 or 4 pairs over the last few years. I've worn them until the fabric across the toes tore from side to side and my pinky toes busted out the edges. Lot of experience here...These are just alright. For what you get, I don't think they're worth the $125. There's better value elsewhere. The tread packs with mud and then it becomes useless. Grip is marginal. Soles are thin so you feel all the rocks. The rubber Vibram tread separated from the midsole and fell off in chunks after just a few weeks. The fabric tore quickly. Long story short, these are trail runners for people that don't actually trail run. They're not durable and the construction doesn't hold up to much, They look cool but after awhile, all shoes look old. Between the novas and the Agilitys, the Agilitys held up much better. These fell apart. I'd try a few more pairs and maybe the durability has improved, but I wouldn't pay full price. They're just not worth it.

The comfort is unmatched. I have bought dozens of Nova over the years. I play basketball in them, they are better than any shoes out there made to hoop. My only gripe of the Nova 3 are the laces, kinda puny, but easy fix. Keepem coming! Make more colors please.

Had the previous version and loved them, bought the Nova three and there are small differences. Both are very comfortable and light. There seems to be less tread on the new ones so they may ware out faster. Taken on one day hike at Inks lake Texas and held up with no issues but the previous version did as well.

My Nova 2 rainbows shoe lace loops ripped so I got these for some additional money as a replacement! The colors are striking but the sole feels so much harder and the profile changed too! We don't have much snow mostly wet ground and some ice! The grip bad and slippery! I don't trust the shoes! I have 3pairs of Nova 2 they must do the job!

I really wanted to like these shoes. They fit well and are well-built, as has been my experience with Merrell shoes. So why did I return them? They have no life, no bounce. Merrell makes great shoes but need to take a look at this aspect. Asics, for example, in my recent experience, tend to do this really well, but are not as durable for me. When I start walking or running with a pair of lively shoes feel like they want to GO, where Merrells don't.
I'd also recommend:

As others have noted, these shoes are prone to heel slip. I tried literally three different sizes, and all three gave me heel slip on my right foot. Other than that, it seems like a pretty solid shoe. If you decide this is your shoe, order half a size down; even Merrell notes that this pair runs large.

I like the shoes, but I hate, hate, hate that the insoles were glued in. I couldn't remove the insoles without damaging them to try on the shoes with my orthotic insoles. Ripping out the original insoles took several minutes of prying, destroyed the insoles, and pulled off some of the inner sole, as well. Fortunately, once the originals were out and my orthotics were in, the shoes still fit and felt good.

I purchased these a few weeks ago, overall I'm pleased with the fit and comfort.
The only issue I'm having is the heels slip quite a bit when walking, feels like my foot wants to lift out .
Don't think I would buy this style shoe again

I have two pairs of NOVA 2s and was really excited to get these for an upcoming trip to Europe. These have the same great comfort and quality as the NOVA 2s, save one problem--these are sized larger than normal. I own no less than a dozen different types of Merrell shoes, and I always wear a size 12. These fit like 12.5 or 13. Unfortunately, because of my purchase, I am not allowed to return or exchange these. I should have read more reviews that noted these ran significantly larger than normal. Disappointing, but I'll put in insoles and wear thick socks and suffer through it.

I have three pairs of the See America, Nova 2 and they are the absolute perfect fit, for me.
The Nova 3 have all the roominess I enjoy in the uppers. The soles are too soft now. I miss the firmness of the Nova 2. Please bring that sole back!

Just took my new Nova 3's on my first walk on the trails behind my house and actually fell down because I slipped on a wet rock face that I have never had issues navigating before. On the rest of my walk I noticed my feet were slipping on the damp sidewalk and when walking up my driveway. I actually had to focus not to slip, even when walking casually when there was minimal grade. It seems while the lugs may provide traction in dirt, grass, etc., the Vibram soles aren't tacky/sticky at all as my previous pair of Merrell's (which I've worn for 3 years without issue). I'm disappointed because I feel like I can only wear these shoes on 100% dry trails that have no rocks or roots, and I absolutely will not be wearing them on wet pavement or other hard surfaces. I compared the soles to my old Merrell's when I got home, as well as the pair of Fly Strike's I just purchases, and indeed the Nova's Vibram soles are more like hard plastic compared to the other shoes' relatively tacky, soft outsoles. Too bad, because living on the West Coast of Canada, it's damp here more than dry, and I feel like it's too risky to wear them if there's any chance of rain.
Otherwise, the shoes fit pretty well and are comfortable out of the box. They are slightly on the spacious side but that works for me I think, and I love the softness of the midsole as someone with sensitive heels. The tongue has extra padding to make them comfy, and the laces perform nicely.
I would love these shoes if they performed even average in wet weather, but I'm disappointed to say that, while they are otherwise comfy, they feel more like a liability. I'm lucky that I didn't break my wrist today falling on damp rocks that I walk on daily 10m from my back door, and I'm not sure if I'll be wearing these again, and will have to sell and take the financial loss. Too bad, because they're so close, but I can't risk my safety.

fairly good looking shoe but that is where it stops. after about 30 miles the soles are delaminating creating a very unstable sole and the side of shoe are showing a lot of piling and wear. i do not see this lasting more than 6 months. AZ desert takes the win over Merrell.

Some genius at Merrell decided to "improve " a perfect shoe, the Nova 2. Now the lateral side of the foot bed has been narrowed instead of leaving somewhat straight that made the shoe stable and comfortable. Now I feel the outer edge of the shoe with my foot and it changed the placement of body weight unfortunately. I bought at least 6 pair of Nova 1 and 2s. Not liking the 3s so much. Also my 3s wore out on the upper way faster. Bummer.

Ran larger than other Merrill shoes I own. I changed the insoles and wore merino wool socks, so that helped. Overall they are light and comfortable.

So far okay except for two issues. First, the left shoe was tight but I put a shoe tree in to give it a stretch. Second, and made me border on a return, the right shoe Achilles pad protection seems to bunch slightly. I have to be exceedingly careful when putting it on and gently massage the filling in to place. I have other Merrell shoes and find them better constructed with better arches (mocs and hiking shoes). Probably will look elsewhere when I need new gym type shoes.
