Beautifully crafted. Solid construction. They've kept my feet dry in the mud and I can't wait to wear these out in the snow soon! Snug at the ankles to keep out the cold but roomy enough to wear multiple layers of socks. Nice grip with plenty of spring in the step. So glad I splurged!

These are everything I want in a boot! Gorgeous in the chocolate and blue flannel color, warm but flexible, amazing quality, perfect for 3-season PNW wear. So sad I had to return both sizes I ordered, since they squeezed the sides of my feet too badly. This is the bean boot I want, so I will wait until they offer it in wide!! I also will have to travel to where I can try them on before purchasing since I can't keep paying the 6.50 return fee indefinitely. Also, the reason I took off a star is because of insole inconsistency (see photo): Ll Bean insoles came with my first boots, 8.5, which were super comfy but too big inside the boot, but the smaller, thinner less comfortable insoles (white/green) came in the size 9s I ordered. Why/weird! Also in the photo are the shearling insoles in size 7 for reference, and the insoles of my chooka boots size 10 in case that helps.

Bought as gift. Overall quality & construction looked good. However due to Bunion on inside of foot, the stiff construction made continual wearing uncomfortable.

The tongue of the boot has a hard strip that rubs the top of your foot I'm not sure if it is a manufacturing problem because it is just on the right boot The boots are a perfect fit

This is my first purchase from L.L. Bean. For a long time I wanted to have a pair of these. Very cute but I don't like how they fit around your ankles. I ordered it online a 7 1/2 which is my normal shoe size but were too big, so I had To down size 1/2 size.

Sizing is tricky as others have noted: wondering why Bean does not offer a SIZE 10.5 women's boot? I found the 11 too sloppy big and the 10 fits a tad snugly. Opted to go with the 10 as the best option but I highly suggest a 10.5 SIZE option for this line. I am sure others would enjoy!

I have had Bean Boots since I can remember. I like this version with flannel lining and the softened leather upper. I sized down one whole size as suggested and they fit fine. The one thing I have noticed over the years, and I feel could be improved in, is the heel. The heel of these boots do not encompass the whole underside. The heel itself is inward of the back of the boot and also on the sides of the boot. It gives the feeling you are walking on a knob somewhat. My heel while in the boot , feels like it is "dropping" over the back of the boot because there is a gap between the bottom of the boot and the heel. I have had my heel roll due to the instability of the design. Why not make the heel encompass the entire back bottom of the boot? It would add a lot more stability.

Love the look! Wish they were a little narrower. Insoles are very cushy.

Love these boots. Warm and grips well on the snow. They only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the same exact boots in men's department was discounted by approximately $50.00 or more than the ladies. The cashier looked up both boots and the ladies boots were more expensive. He could not give me the price of the men's boots. They were exactly the same and the men's boots were much bigger!

I need to change my previous review- I have added three stars to eat a little crow. I have to wear thick socks, but these boots also need to be laced all the way up in order for them to be comfortable on my feet. DUH. ANYway - I rescind my negative review in favor of a slightly more favorable one. I DON'T want to return them...when they feel good, they are everything I need them to be.

Beautiful boot! I purchased a size up as recommended, but boot too small with heavy socks. Returned for next size up. Definitely fit smaller that unlined boot.

The boots are very well made. My daughter is getting used to the fit, it is a bit unusual, seems too loose at the top of her foot, but it works. She has quickly adopted them as favorite footware
Took a star off because shipping was very slow. Orders from three other online vendors placed days after I ordered these boots all arrived before the boots arrived. Premium boots at a premium price should arrive at least as fast as an average ecommerce purchase.

I loved that they were already broken in - extremely comfortable for walking. But they're just not warm enough for winter. More like spring/fall boots.

I think these boots look a bit clunky, but that may be because I sized up. I normally wear a 7.5 to 8 in shoes/boots. I am planning to wear these in the winter (and have) with the added shearling insoles, so I purchased a size 9. The width around my toes is okay with insoles, but I have an inch plus beyond my toes and the heels are a little loose. I think the looseness can be fixed with thicker socks, but the length is too much. An 8 wide may have been better (not available). I am keeping them. The leather is soft and they don't rub anywhere. I will pass them on if I can't find a solution. I was hoping for a three season boot, but these are definitely winter only.

I've had these almost a month. I've wanted my first pair of bean boots for a long time but I don't love them. The tongue at the bottom is way too big and bunches up and looks funny. My feet are also always cold in them. The tread is good and the footbed fits nice on my wide feet. I love all things LL Bean but was pretty disappointed in the boots overall.

I m a 7.5 so I ordered up to 8 to accommodate mid- heavy weight socks. I live on a farm so needed quality winter shoes. They fit like uncomfortable clown shoes. I'm keeping them but beware these are uncomfortable and sized bizarre - well constructed clown shoes

I wanted to like this boot so much and was really excited to get it for Christmas. After trying out two different sizes and dealing with mail-in exchanges, sadly I had to decide this shoe just doesn't work for me. Maybe if there were half-sizes it would help. Or maybe it's just the inevitable stiff, pokiness of the rubber. In any case, not a good fit for me unfortunately.

these boots have extra shoe fabric and stuff in the back heel that i either have to break in still or it's going to keep giving me blisters forever. also incredibly hard to get on and off. i chose these instead of regular bean boots because they're at least easier to get on and off because of the detached tongue.

I want to love these boots, but I've had them less than a month and the stitching is coming undone at the top of the boot. The leather looks like it will come apart, and the frayed strands look sloppy. The rest of the boot seems sturdy and warm so hopefully it holds up without coming apart..

Ankle is cut quite large - so was very bulky for my narrow ankle. While the boot looks nice - it's not going to offer the warmth / wetness blockage we need in winters here.

I bought these to replace a similar pair (not llbean) hoping I could wear to work and outside in the snow. I thought an insulated pair would be great, as my previous pair got wet on the inside and started smelling and making my feet smell. However, within a few weeks of wearing the insides of these boots definitely got wet, and now they produce the same odor as my old boots. Very frustrating to have a $200 pair of boots ruined within the first month of wear.

Super bummed. I have always wanted a pair of bean boots and finally got these as a gift last year for Christmas. They did not live up to my expectations or the description! My feet didn't stay dry in wet weather, no matter how thick of socks I wore my feet were never warm, and now the backing where the label is on the heel is bubbling??? Very upset seeing I wore them only a handful of times and for one season at that!! I just took them out of my closet this month and found the weird bubbling label. They were purchased in November of '21 and being that it is now January '23 I don't know if I'll even be able to get a refund or exchange. Will be bringing to the store to this week to see if they'll help me. Hoping this is just a defective item. I wish I could recommend but based on my experience, I do not.

was too big and concerned that without half sizes the next size down won't fit either.

I really wanted to like this boot, but the inside stitching on the back of the ankle was very uncomfortable and the tongue of the boot was hard and rubbed against my shins when I walked. Unfortunately, I had to return them. I was disappointed.

I bought the original bean boots about three years ago and I loved them. They were comfortable, durable, and lightweight. After an incident where my boots were taken during a stay in New York, I decided to buy a new pair. I thought these would be nice. They look like the originals AND they're flannel lined so they'd be warm enough for Virginia winters. So I went ahead and ordered the same size I had bought before, which had fit me perfectly. I am petite at 5'2. When I received these boots and tried them on, they were snug enough, but they're huge! It's not just a sizing issue, either. It's like the entire shoe is just thicker. The back of the shoe (where my heel is) is very thick, so it adds even more length to make your foot look clownish. Maybe a taller person could get away with it. I'd rather not look ridiculous and compromise on the warmth. Not what I expected from such a reputable company and at this price point.
