This sandal is so cute. The buckles allow for pretty customized sizing - I was able to get them to fit snugly yet comfortably. The footbed is not the most comfortable yet; it’s a little hard under the middle and near the ball of my foot, but I’m hoping with wear they will get more comfortable.

As others have said, the sizing is way off! I went down from my usual size 7 (38) initially ordering the 6-6.5 (37) and they were way too big with about half an inch of shoe in the front and back. I ordered the next size down (36) and they look slightly small on my feet, but the fit feels good and I expect they will stretch as they mold to my feet with continued wear. The only reason I am not buying another pair of Abeo Mandalay instead of these is the Abeos aren’t made anymore, but they are the most supportive, comfortable sandals I’ve ever worn, hence I bought 4 pairs! These are not as comfortable as those, but they feel like they should provide arch support, which I need, so I’m going to give them a try. It was important to me that they are cute and don’t look like granny sandals, too! I got the tobacco color, which is a perfect neutral taupe. I read that the toe straps frequently come off on this model, but I’m willing to give them a try. I’ve often admired my friends pair that she wears all Summer and she got several seasons out of them before the strap broke.

I got these for my daughter last year and this. They run like 2 sizes too big legit. She loves them they look cool but I have to send them back again. Last year I just went the mall and had her try them on and bought those. I then sent the others back for a refund. I mean size 6 should be size 6. Now that I vented they are great though and she does love them. Just buy them in person.

I usually wear size 6.5 - 7. Ordered these in 6- 6.5. They were very big. Returned them for 5, which is usually way small. Size 5 fit perfectly

The toe ring takes getting used to. My trusty pair of Madrid finally fell apart after 9 years. The toe ring on these sandals rub a bit. I am having a hard time adjusting the buckles for a perfect fit. Just when I thought it was right, the left sandal started making a fart/duck quack sound when I walk.

I have to admit I was expecting more from this shoe, especially when it came to comfort. It actually makes my feet ache a little when I wear them - I'm hoping this will improve with wear. Also, not sure if it's the shoe or my foot (although I don't have this problem with other shoes), but when I walk they "fart", or at least make a similar sort of noise.

Love Birkenstocks!!! I love these shoes. The only reason I took off 2 stars - I ordered the Festival Fushia color — I wore new white pants with these shoes, and the Fushia color transferred to the brand new white pants!!!!! I was able to remove the dry transfer by soaking the pants cuffs in Oxiclean (thank goodness the were not dry clean only!!). The dye did come out of the pants, but it should never have transferred in the first place!

The sandals arrived looking like they had been used and returned by someone else. All the buckles were undone and there were some stains on the suede footbed of one sandal. I am a size 6 to 6.5 and ordered size 37 as recommended, but they were a full size too large. Very disappointed.

I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks Mayari for about 20 years and I just bought another pair since my old ones finally gave out. (Size 38m- I usually wear a size 9 sneaker)These new ones are made with a very stiff leather so much that while trying them out in the house I rubbed a few spots raw on my foot. Also the toe loop is extremely tight and I have narrow feet. I find that odd. I have never had either issue. Maybe it’s the color I got? I usually get a brown or tan color and this pair is black. I am disappointed and really don’t see how I can keep these. Maybe Birkenstock has changed their manufacturing? Maybe Birkenstock could suggest a leather product to make them less painful to my skin?

This is my third pair of Birks. I really like how they look. I had a spot on one of the shoes where the buckle is attached that had pieces of the metal poking through. It was irritating my foot. The other shoe didn't have any issues. Had to return them because I knew I would not have a comfortable fit even if they were broken in. I plan to reorder and see if I get a better pair.

I guess I am not made for Birkenstocks. The 40 was enormous, and I am nearly always a straight 9. In the 39, my toes hung off the front a little, and yet I had a lot of room at the heel. Also, the 39's were definitely a return, and I don't mind that most of the time, it's better than tossing shoes in a landfill, but with this kind of shoe, to get one with worn spots and (hork) toe marks is just...I nearly lost my lunch.

The dye rubs off on my feet every time I wear them.

I love these sandals and have purchased several pairs over the years. They full at least a FULL size too big on me. I am a 7.5 in most shoes and a 7 in flipflops. I had to order the 37 (listed as 6-6.5) and they fit perfectly. Love the shoe... but the sizing chart needs to be updated.

Ordered tobacco oiled leather…idk what I got but NOT what I ordered….strange taupe grey non oiled material……why can’t you send what is ordered? Or if this is the new tobacco oiled leather look, change the photo so we can see what we will actually get….grrrrrrr

What a bummer! I have a pair of these in silver, size 39, and love them, but when I ordered a pair in navy they did not fit properly at all! The toe loops on both the left and right sandals were uncomfortably snug, and the leather looked weathered and vaguely worn out— not like the pictures at all. I will be returning them immediately. I’ve generally had good experiences with Birkenstock sandals, but these did not live up to expectations.

I am so very disappointed in Birkenstock!! I have ordered at least 2 pair per year and worn Birkenstock Mayari sandals, in the same size and same width for well over 12 years and I have them in many colors. They are my favorite and only summer sandal style. I've purchased 4 pair, size 38, in medium width, in the last 2 months (not all from Zappos) and find that none of them fit. They are all too short and more narrow than the ones I've always worn. I don't know what Birkenstock has done but I'm very unhappy with their changes. I just ordered a full on oiled leather pair to see if it fit better than the others I've always ordered, and they too are not wide enough and are too short. Such a dispointment. I believe Birkenstock has lost my business. Buyers beware, they are not sized the same way as they have always been. :(

I was surprised at how uncomfortably small/narrow these were. I recently tried a pair of these in another color that were a regular 41 that felt closer to my correct size than these regular 42 sandals were. The straps were too thin and way too short on the largest setting. The other pair that were a smaller size were the right width at the second from the last hole. The sandals came in a Birkenstock box but they felt like something knock off or defective/irregular shoes. $130 is WAY too much to pay for something second rate. I’m returning these. Have been happy with Zappos in the past but this was surprising and disappointing

I was sent the wrong shoe and it was used.

Pink dye ran all over my feet when they got a little wet. I would have expected more for an expensive brand like BIRKENSTOCK.

These shoes created a corn on the bottom of my foot and I've been dealing with that for months.

I have worn many pairs of Mayari and they are my "go to" summer sandal, especially if I am doing a fair amount of walking. All of my prior pairs have been comfortable right out of the box. The leather of this particular style was beyond stiff and uncomfortable, and felt like it would take forever to break in. This pair is a definite "no" for me and will be going back. It's sad as I loved the color.

I ordered a 38 which has fir perfectly in the past. The strap over the foot was too short and the leather piece over the big toe was too tight.

The wrong item was sent the sandals were not the oiled version so I returned them

I'm pretty sure I didn't receive the correct shoe. These were a full size smaller than labeled. I ordered two other pairs that were the same size that were visibly wider and longer. I love the Tobacco color and material of the leather, but was very disappointed that they fit narrow, or are mislabeled.
