I love these. They are my first pair of Birkenstocks (even through I used to live in Berkeley). I got them for an upcoming trip to Europe and wanted really good walking sandals. I have been wearing them for about a month now and they get better everyday. They do need a breaking in period for the footbed to mould to your foot, so plan some time for that. One of the things I am most impressed about is how well they stay on even without a heal strap, which make them really easy to get in and out of, but in most sandals this also means that you risk having the show fly off when you are wearing it. However, this shoe feels very secure on yet when I want it off, I just give a little kick to the heal and it is easy to get out of. And the blue straps are a great color - blue and fun with colors and then it looks more gray/silver when worn with black. It is a Birkinstock, so it looks a little clunky compared to other sandals and the footbed is a bit large at the front (the shoe does not run large, but there is extra room in front of the toes). Overall if you plan to do serious walking in your sandals, don't hesitate to buy these.

I've had other Birkenstocks before and loved them. These are cute and I got several compliments on them. They do however require a little breaking in time. After wearing them 3 or 4 times, then I started to feel that they were as comfortable as my old Birkenstocks. The only thing I hate is you can't get them wet, it leaves the insole all nasty and stinky. And for an expensive as they are, it would be nice if they held up in water.

I love these shoes! I bought them b/c I am getting old and good foot support matters when you get old. I noticed a difference right away. I have not taken them off since they arrived several weeks ago. Plus I think the color is feminine. My only issue is that rocks get in on a regular basis, LOL. First world problems, eh?

These shoes run very long. The width is fine. My granddaughter normally, wears a 7 1/2-8 and we are returning a size 7 for a 6.

These were so cute, but too big. I ended up also getting a different style as well as going down a size. I chose a different style because when I walked they sounded and felt like flip-flops. It drove me crazy, it felt like they were going to fall off any minute.

I have narrow feet, but I usually am fine wearing regular width shoes. I have wanted the Mayari sandals for a year now, and the narrow wasn't available, so I ordered the regular size. For those with narrow feet, I recommend getting the narrow size. Though these sandals were comfortable and cute, extra cork was visible around the sides of my feet, and it looked awkward. It was obvious that the sandals were too wide for my feet. I am returning them. I hope Zappos is able to restock the narrow sizes!

These feel great! So far I have been wearing them around the house willing spring to come early and they are very comfortable with a good amount of arch support. I really like the slimmer bands as opposed to the wide bands of the class Birk, less clunky. Can't wait to make them my daily out-and-about sandal.

This sandal runs large, but having read other reviews, I ordered a size down and the fit was great. I'm returning them because although I am a fan of the non-leather concept, the brown straps had a metallic quality to them which I didn't like at all. It's difficult to decipher which of the synthetics in brown have a natural look. Wish there were more description of the material.

I bought my Birkenstock Mayaria Sandals in June of 2013. I was looking for a pair of sandals that not only could be dressed up, for Sunday mass perhaps, but also could be dressed down to wear to everyday occasions, such as school or the beach. I also needed these shoes to be durable and to be able to last a relatively long time. I started to look around online at different stores in the winter of 2013, my junior year of high school. One brand that caught my eye was Birkenstock. I had a couple of friends who already had Birkenstocks and when asked, they only ever had positive things to say about the shoes comfort and durability. However, the style they had bought (Arizona), at the time, felt a little too casual and hippie for what I was looking for. I went onto the Birkenstock website anyway just to check them out and was blown away by the variety of styles available other than that one style I had seen before. And not only was there a wide selection of styles, but also of materials and colors! I started looking around a bit at all the different styles of sandals and pricing available for each. I fell in love with the Mayaria style and after a long period of indecision about the color, settled on the Golden Brown Birko-Flor. I actually ended up having to send them back a couple times because of the fit. Since they are European shoes, they come in European sizes (Makes sense, right?). Well, I was thoroughly confused by the double-digit sizes and was forced to send them back three times before finally ordering the right size for my feet! (I also suspect that they run a bit large.) When I first put them on, the cork foot bed was really stiff and not comfortable. It took a couple of days to wear them in, but after that, they became some of the most comfortable shoes I own! I made the right choice with the color, and I absolutely love the style! I have gotten so many compliments on them, too! I am also really impressed with their durability. Because these shoes are so versatile, I have put them through a lot. I would say that it s a fair estimate that I wore these shoes for fifty percent of the past year or so. I wore them in the summer to the beach, on walks, and brought them on every vacation with me. During the fall and spring, I wore them to school, church, and when I went out with my friends. During the time I have had these shoes, I have gone on three service trips for a total of five weeks. These were my go-to shoes for being on my feet all day. In fact, one of the service trips I went on was a mission trip to rural El Salvador. A group of sixty of us went down for a week during February break. We did go down during the winter, however, El Salvador is a Central American country that lies much closer to the equator than, Syracuse, New York, where I am from. This means that regardless of the fact that it was FEBRUARY, it was still super hot out! We stayed in a very poor, rural village in the region of Bajo Lempo. They had two dirt roads (The equivalent of rush hour was the two times a day the cattle were herded back and forth from pastures.) that we would walk on the get to the many work sites and projects. I wore my Birkenstocks a lot that week. They encountered more types of dust and grime on those two dirt roads that week than (I would imagine) the makers of these shoes planned for them to withstand, but they did it! They made it through and I could not have been happier! To wrap this up, if you are someone who is looking for a pair of versatile, durable, comfortable sandals for daily use, these are the shoes for you! If you are looking for a durable sandal to last you through five years of rugged use, you probably want to keep looking because these do wear out over time. I put these sandals through the wringer and they definitely show a lot of signs of love. They are wearing down in the sole and cork foot bed, and the cork seems to like to hold on to odor, especially after my El Salvador trip. None of this is a surprise, however. I am actually impressed by how well they have held up after everything they have been through! They definitely have my stamp of approval! To conclude, I love these shoes, and should you decide to buy these, you will, too!

I tried these but the wrap around the great toe was uncomfortable. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and they provide overall great arch support. I just could not bear the discomfort of the toe wrap.

These are pretty for Birks!
I grew up with a mom who swore by the old, 2 strap Birks and I always associated them with her generation. While looking for sandals that were casual and comfortable I decided to give the Mayari a try.
They were a bit uncomfortable at first as I have a very flat foot and these sandals have good arch support. There was no noticeable discomfort after day 2.
I honestly thought I'd end up sending them back; instead I bought a second pair.

I love my Birkenstocks.
They took a few weeks to get used to , from a style and comfort point of view.
Because I'm used to wearing Franco Sarto sandals and other designers that are cute but not the best to wear for hours at a time, I originally thought the Birkenstocks looked a bit masculine but it's just something you need to get used to.
Initially, because I'm on my feet all day, I had a little bit of discomfort but I love them now and have no pain or soreness like i would after wearing other sandals with no arch support at all.
These are the perfect style I think as well out of all of the Birkenstocks because they are comfortable but also cute and feminine.
If you are a 6.5/7 like me, the 37 regulars will fit perfectly.
If you're more 7/7.5 than you need a 38.

I loved these but the side buckle killed my little toe the minute I put them on. No adjusting changed the pain. With regret I must return for a different style. The color was awesome. Wah!

This is what everyone was talking about! I received my first pair in size 37. I generally wear 6½ and have somewhat wide feet. But my toes are short and they were not long enough to reach the wrap around the big toe. I did not find the rest of the shoe very comfortable and could not really get the straps tight enough. I just received the same style in 36 and they are perfect. The arch hits in the right place and toes reach the wrap without going to the edge. The heel sits in just right. I have plantar fasciitis as well as fibroids on the arches of my feet so I really hope this takes care of that! At least I know they will be comfortable.

I really like wearing this shoe, although it did take me a while to break them in. This could be for several reasons. First, I took the advice from the commenters and ordered a size down (a 38 instead of my usual 39) and I don't think that was the best idea. My foot fits exactly in the sandals, and I think there is supposed to be a little extra around the whole foot. That being said, I think they look less clunky that way.

I was disappointed in the color of the upper part or this color (Toffee) and the Golden brown color. The shimmering metallic look is not what I was going for. Love the fit, but disappointed in the shimmer.

Very comfy, and the narrow fit my foot just great. Very comfortable to walk in for long periods of time. Only complaint would be the sole can sometimes be slick on some surfaces.

I ordered a size 39 ( my usual) but it seemed too big so I changed to a 38. Then I got worried because I read a review warning against buying too small. It seems like my toes curl under in these. It too a bit to get used to the toe strap. I would not call these my most comfy shoes. I hope it isn't because I went with the smaller size. I am glad they are adjustable. I also love the blue color I ordered.

This is my first Birkenstock. I relied on these reviews to purchase a size smaller. Slipped them on only to find my toes hanging over the side edge. I was bummed to return them as it's difficult to find sandals in a narrow size. I'll try the 42 but the way the toe box is sharply angled not hopeful my toes will fit.

I was initially worried about having something between my toes. Overall, this is relatively comfortable, however there is some rubbing that happens between my first and second toe....nothing that a little moleskin won't fix. I think if the material was real leather, this would less of an issue. Overall, a cute and versitile shoe.

Love these shoes - this style is modern with the classic comfy fit of Birks! I usually wear a 6.5 and ordered a 37. I feel on my feet they are about a half size too big. I kept them anyway though.

I love the look of these sandals and the first few days I wore them around the house they were fine. Then the straps began to hurt the tops of my feet and I can no longer wear them. I've tried band-aides and that helps, but not for long. I've tried to find out how to soften the straps, but so far have not come up with a solution.

Happy to find a sandal in a narrow width. The Golden Brown color was nice with a light sheen (they were out of my first choice, Mocha). Though this is a much more feminine looking sandal than other Birks and it felt good on, I am returning because I didn't like the look enough.

Love this shoe! Very comfortable and supportive. It stays no well too. I have another pair of Birkenstocks (Granada style) and they are a lot softer in the sole which I like a little bit more, but I am very happy with these sandals and would definitely recommend them. I wear them for walking fairly long distances and they're still comfortable.

I have a pair of Arizonas and Bostons from high school...oh 15 years ago now. Both are size 38. I swear I used to wear a size 8 - 8 1/2 back then in other shoes. Due to size inflation through the years, I am now a 7 - 7 1/2 (in all flats, heels, and sandals). My feet did not shrink people! So, I was all over the internet reading reviews getting ready to purchase new Birks for a trip to Europe this summer, planning for plenty of time to break them in. (I went on a trip last summer and made grave mistakes with my footwear...trying to do it right this time. Also, side note, as I was hobbling around the cobblestoned streets of Dublin and London, I noticed many people in Birkenstocks, locals and tourists alike.) Anyway, I started with the Gizeh and the consensus seemed to be to order down. I tried the 37 and...I could have made them work, but I actually really didn't like the feel of the thong between my toes, and they were just a little small. Looked super cute though! I tried the 38 in Mayari which fit just right. I got the black patent and they were cute. The inside of the straps was somehow soft. I actually sent them back because I still wasn't sure they'd stand the test of walking miles and miles and am now considering a Chaco sandal. But, now that I no longer have the Mayaris, I've seen them everywhere and want them back! The take home: Birkenstock fits the same now as it did 15-20 years ago. I would argue that if you are a half size, to order up and not down. Thank you, Birkenstock, for remaining consistent. Thank you, Zappos, for amazing customer service!
I'd also recommend:
Chaco, Merrell (the rare cute ones anyway)
