I originally ordered a 38, I'm a size 7/7.5 US. It was too big. My toes did not sit on toe ridge at all. I switched to the 37 and they fit perfectly. Very stiff at first but quickly softens.The metatarsal arch pad takes some getting used to. I've only worn them once since I just got them but I plan to wear every day this week.

I didn't realize I bought the "regular" width style, and wowza, the toe box is so wide that it looked like I was wearing flippers! Easily an extra half inch between the edges of the sandal and my outer most toes. Had they been narrower, I would have kept them- the three straps offer a secure hold (I could probably run after my dog comfortably), and more feminine looking than the Arizona's.

These are nice looking, but run large. Will return and a smaller size. The blue color is great and will go with everything!

I really like this sandal overall. The navy blue color is saturated and won’t be mistaken for black. I wore my previous Mayari style to death, sadly I waited too long to take them to the cobbler. My only real complaint was they weren’t comfortable to wear with socks so I couldn’t wear them year round. This Franca style is cute and I can wear socks when the weather is cool and dry. My Mayari’s were a 37, I wear a 7.5 or 8 in other shoes, and I ordered 37 again. The Franca size is comparable, maybe a smidge longer. My only real note of caution is the width. My Mayari’s didn’t have a width specified and so I ordered a Medium width. I find the Franck’s a bit too wide in the toe box, and tightening the toe straps to the shortest length didn’t help. I only notice it around my big toe because it’s not fully seated within the molded toe ridge. Unfortunately I didn’t remember about the narrow width until I’d worn the shoes outside so I will be keeping this pair. So if you always wear a narrow or medium width in other shoes get the narrow Franca.

Although I order a regular width, it felt more like a narrow width. I compared it with other Birkenstocks that I have and these were narrower. Either they were mislabeled or the manufacturer has changed the specifications for these shoes.

I own several pair of Birkenstock and I wanted to try the Franca because it felt like a more feminine style with the narrower straps. I did love the style and feel of them, but they definitely seemed to run a bit narrower than my Arizonas and Floridas, and I found that walking around made the front straps rub against my pinky toe to much and irritated it, so I had to return them. May try the wider size and see if that helps because I do love the style

The fit was good, but I don't like the style. I prefer Arizona. I also didn't like the color. It was too light.

I wanted to love it, Birks help my hips and back so much! But it's a lot of buckles for a small foot. That's the only way I can describe it. Comfort and quality all great, but I had chosen the Franca over the Arizona because of the thinner straps, thinking it would have the opposite effect on a smaller foot bc of the size of straps. I am hopeful the Sydney will be more widely available in other colors as its a slimmed down version of Arizona...for smaller feet it's ideal!

I love Birkenstocks and was looking forward to receiving these shoes. Perhaps I'm being too particular, but they arrived with a small but noticeable scratch, and a little (glue?) had left a small shiny spot on the shoe. I could have lived with that, but I thought the blue would be the same bright blue as on my Mayari sandals. This color is so blue-black that I had trouble distinguishing whether it was truly blue at all. Not what I wanted. As always, Zappos is great about returns.

I really wanted to love these…but I couldn’t. Birkenstock’s have always been too wide. I recently bought a pair of Oswego’s in a narrow and they fit wonderful. I love the cork footbeds. So I figured if I bought a narrow, they too would fit. The right fit good but the left foot (my problem foot) did not. The ridge at the base of the toes hit in the wrong spot. I am disappointed but will exchange them for another pair of Oswego’s.

As with other reviews I am a 39 but these are short. My toes touch the top of the footbed (narrow). Also disappointed the oiled leather comes not oiled. So it would break in over time

Ended up returning the shoes. The front part was to short and I felt the support was okay but would not work with my high arch

Cute style in the navy and after a break in period they were comfortable for general everyday wear. Unfortunately, after nearly two years, they are still bleeding blue dye on my feet if the slightest dew drop or moisture makes contact with my foot or the sandal. I ordered a new pair in the leather and unfortunately the footbed has changed, at least in the batch Zappos us currently selling, and the regular width is significantly narrower than the pair I currently have.

While cute, these are too tight on my high instep. The top strap hits in a weird spot and they’re just uncomfortable

Way too narrow and main cross strap was too close to leg/ankle. Very uncomfortable

As many people mentioned before the color is not as pictured and I really don't like the way the leather looks. Otherwise the fit is fine.

This style looks nice and I really wanted to like them, but the front buckle sits right on the pinkie toe and rubs it.

Love the look of these! However I found them to be less comfortable than my Arizona Soft Footbed pair. The straps are stiff and will need lots of breaking in. Also tried the narrow size. They were too snug and I don’t have wide feet. The regular width could be better but I’m going to stick with a wider softer strap style. These will go back.

The color is much lighter than the images on the website - almost light gray.

Okay but not quite right

I was expecting a bit of a more narrow shoe. But what prompted me to return was that the straps are not soft at all, and rubbed against my feet. I know there would be a break-in period, but I felt like these would never be truly comfortable.

I returned these and bought another pair of Mayari, this time in black. The Franca style was very cute, but it didn’t have the support that the Mayari has, especially since it lacks the toe loop. These kept feeling like I was going to walk out of them. I have a narrow foot and had to use the last holes to make them feel secure. Much prefer my Mayari style, which are comfy right out of the box!

Felt smaller than regular size 39. The strap closest to you leg did it lay properly and actually cut into my skin.
