I have had a weekender bag that was one of my favorite pieces for several years. I wanted to update to a newer color scheme so I ordered a new one and had it embroidered so now I can't return. This weekender bag is NOT the same in size as the previous one, which I was completely not expecting. If you love your weekender- just know the only difference is not just the mesh pockets on the inside (which is shown) but the size is very much smaller.

Quality is not equal to what I paid. Very flimsy and thin.

When i ordered this embroidery online it showed over a pink flower. So I ordered the light green string. But you put the embroidery over a light green flower. So you can hardly see it. You should have called to ask about changing the color or changed the fabric. This was a bridal gift. I'm disappointed enough I'm not sure if I will even give it to her

My daughter has the old version of this bag, with the chipboard in the bottom for support and interior pockets made of the same quilted material as the bag. I borrow her bag often when flying to visit her sister in NY because it is the perfect size for slipping onto the handles of carry-on luggage, and it is also really great for staying organized. I have wanted this exact bag for some time and ordered it for myself in Pretty Posies. When I received it I loved the beautiful pattern but was so incredibly disappointed in the changes Vera Bradley has made to this bag. Without a chipboard in the bottom of the bag it sags, looks terrible, and is difficult to use. Also, the mesh interior pockets are saggy and flimsy and clearly inferior to the old quilted pockets. It is not the same quality as other Vera Bradley bags I have owned, and certainly does not provide the same performance. I can't believe you've cheapened your brand so!!! PLEASE bring bag the features which make these bags worth the $$$$. Otherwise, you can keep it!

The quality of this product is wack! It's like Vera Bradley went to the lowest bidder and changed all the awesome things about the Weekender to cheap junk so it can break easily and you have to order a new one. I gave my former Weekender bag to an old lady because she admired itthinking, Oh! It's an awesome bag! So durable and strong, and this would give me an excuse to get a new pattern. I was excited to see them on sale...and so disappointed when I got itthe clips for the strap are so cheap, that if I were to fill the bag up and use it as a crossbody during travel (which I did with my other one), it's gonna break. Also, the bottom is not hard or wide as it used to be, so you can't fit the same amount of stuff. AND the pockets inside are mesh instead of material. Yuck!! provide the same quality you used to!

Was excited to make this purchase for daily use as I need it for work and it has barely been 2 weeks and the bag already ripped and strap is falling apart. I am so disappointed I will not purchase anymore items.

I received this bag as a gift, so I kept it. But! The quality of Vera Bradley has taken a nosedive. The bottom does not have a hard board. The bag just lays over when put it on the floor or sags when you carry it making it uncomfortable, especially when using the shoulder strap. The god awful mesh pockets are the absolute worst. I decided to go to a retailer to check out some of their other products and was shocked at the changes and low quality of the newer styles. I will not pay these prices for substandard quality. Vera has lost a customer in me.

I bought this a month ago and started to use it for a trip today. Great bag but trolley panel too narrow to go over any luggage handles. That was my main reason for buying to make travel easier at the airport. Am calling the company tomorrow to return. Very very disappointed!

I have several vera Bradley bags that i Love. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with my last purchase. I wish I would have waited to purchase the cloth weekender. I don't like the material of the weekender bag I bought. No stretch and no personality.

As another reviewer stated, the quality has seemed to go down. I bought a weekender a few years ago and the quality of the fabric was so much better than the one I most recently ordered. The lining feels cheap and the outer fabric is a bit rough and seems a bit thin. I love the shape and features of the bag, but I am quite disappointed by the quality of materials.

As someone who has collected over 50 VB pieces within the last 10 years, the quality is going down. Very disappointed in the new lining of the bags. The bags are not as sturdy as they used to be, only had this bag for a couple months and the lining got torn. Won't be purchasing anymore VB if the quality continues to go down like this.

I was looking for a carry on that would handle my camera as well as other carry on needs. This was perfect! Pockets convenient! Stylish!

I found out the product was shipped from an outlet store and not the factory. It was just thrown in the box, it had a mildew odor and there were strings hanging from the zipper area and the seams. If I order again I never want it shipped from the outlet store.

As lovely as this bag is, it was a huge burden to me during my recent trip to the Caribbean. It was just too large, cumbersome, and awkward. I had difficulty putting it under the airplane seats, difficulty removing it, and even greater difficulty carrying it. It hung clumsily off my shoulder, and I had to solve the problem by carrying it by the short handles. It was never square, or neat when packed, just lumpy and awkward. It was a terrible disappointment to me.

I have never written a review on a Vera Bradley product; yet I have always been happy with them. However this bag not no much, I was so excited since it has that cool strap in the back to hook over your suit case handle. Im sure we have all tried to balance carry on's on top of our suit case's wrapping straps around...anything to keep them in place. I had no doubt this Weekender bag was going to be the solution; I rushed out and bought it right before leaving for a trip. Loaded up and headed to the airport. As I am pulling my suitcase into the terminal...this bag didn't fall off, yet spun around. So now its hitting me in the back of the leg, strap dragging on the asphalt. Re organized and tried again, but this bag continued doing this all the way to the counter, I have never been so happy to check a bag in my life to I could carry this bag on my shoulder and be done with the useless strap on the back. Then had to relive it all on my return flight. If your reason to buy this bag is the strap on back for your suitcase...rethink it...it doesn't work.

So to start off, this bag is AMAZING! (why is this person raving and failing this bag at the same time) Well ahhh, here is the answer. The bag is great, I like the material. BTW I ordered mine in Midnight Blues. It's matches everyone else's bag at my studio (good or bad IDK), Great space to go on a weekend trip, HENCE Weekender and yah that's about all that impressed me. On the down side I absolutely positively despise the ability this bag has to keep it's shape. Now I know it's not made to be an athletic bag, but sure would have wanted more for the money I spent. I am not a Vera Bradley hater believe me when I tell you this, actually I am quite a fan. But this bag just didn't do it. I hope this review helped those of you considering purchasing this bag.

Not only does the old Weekender look way better just sitting, it is so much more functional. The addition of the trolley sleeve wastes precious pocket space on the outside of the new Weekender and is unnecessary since you can just use the shoulder straps on bags to hang them on rolling luggage. Very short-sighted. I am super disappointed that the old Weekender will not be made in Provencal - I'd have bought it for the beauty alone!!! The old Weekender is so well-balanced and is one of the best looking bags they make - hard to resist in ANY pattern.
