I like the coat but thought it was of thicker quality

Like the design but the velcro's next to the zipper damages anything with any soft fabric. My arm part got damaged by the velcro.

Jack will definitely keep you warm, two major flaws for me. The attachable fur, comes off easily as it is only connected by buttons( fix: tailor the fur on). Second, the velcro damages the lining(hand)

Jacket is bit underwhelming in terms of the quality of the materials used for the price.

The jacket fits well, is warm and waterproof. My one issue is that the cuffs on the sleeves are shedding fibers after a few uses. Quite disappointing given the price point.

Awesome warmth, but a design fail on the cuff material. If you get it near the velcro, then the cuffs start shedding material and making fuzzies. After only 2 days this happened to me. Also, the cuff material seems to wear the same when you put your hands in the pockets becuz of the zipper.

This is a super warm jacket and I loved everything about it, except the velcro used to closed the jacket catches on the sleeves and causes it to pill. It's also very annoying. Other than that, it's very warm and versatile.

Bought this for Chicago winter. Warm, but the hood is flimsy. The faux fur could use additional reinforcement. The velcro sticks to the cuffs. It seems like North Face quality is going downwards.

Bought these for my boys and they were super excited. I have an older one that is different in two important ways--read on. Boys did nothing in Bombers but wear occasionally in the house for a quick step outside. Still have tags on. And the fabric cuff IS ALREADY FRAYING. Why? The Velcro snaps that augment the zipper keep rubbing on the cuffs and causing them to fray. This started within 3 days. My coat has button, not velcro , and the water resistant, more durable outer sleeve covers the vulnerable, fabric cuff. Fix this an remedy the matter for folks who spent good money. My old jacket does not have the problem b/c of the buttons and longer outer sleeve.

This jacket fits great, it's warm, and comfortable. Despite this, there is one major flaw. The velcro gets caught on the sleeve stretch material causing it to look worn and horrible. I only wore it for a week but had to return because of this issue. If it had buttons like the previous parkas it would be perfect.

I use it walking my son to school and when I go to work and around town. I love the fit, look, color and comfort. I don't like how damaged the sleeve cuffs look after only 3 weeks of casual use, the use of Velcro was a poor design

I have had this jacket for 3 weeks and the Velcro has caused a lot of damage to the sleeve cuffs with minor casual use. The jacket was also labeled as "warmest" overall the jacket is warm but the pockets have zero warmth there is only a thin layer of material on the front part of the pockets. I do like the fit, the color and it is comfortable

Make sure to read the reviews before purchasing to know what you're getting into. Whether or not you will like this coat depends on if you can handle the Velcro piling the elastic material on the cuffs and waist. It's manageable if you're cognizant of the issue. You can also use a sweater shaver every once and awhile to get the coat looking new again. I chose to get this jacket anyway because of how unique the light purple color is (though North Face calls it "gray"). I'm overall pretty happy with it. I own the parka version as well, and will add that the faux-fur connections on the bomber vs the parka aren't nearly as seamless. I also miss the elastic headband in the hood of the parka that keeps it secured over your head, which can be a lifesaver in the cold and wind.

The coat fits well, it's warm and it looks great. The only con is, for over the zipper, they use Velcro instead of buttons; it brings the functionality of the coat down. The Velcro is loud, it snags on your sleeves (immediately adding wear and tear) and eventually it'll loosen and fall apart. I just don't understand the decision, it feels like the cheaper option for an almost $400 coat. It feels like being skimped out on.

Not that bad but this 2022-23 Mcmurdo bomber jacket should be recalled by North Face. As soon as you try to zip it up the knit sleeve gets stuck on the velcro right beside the zipper. Hard to believe from a company that have such renown. You have to pull quite hard on the sleeve to free it but it gets bad damage pretty quick. Personally i fixed the issue by removing all velcros and replaced them with snap buttons. Also they removed other useful features that where nice on previous years models like higher side pockets, zipped inner pocket and the famous integrated face mask are all gone. Can't believe they did not fix it on 2023-24 model as its unchanged from last year. Read the bad reviews below. Many other customers have lots of problems with the velcro... That said i love the jacket now without velcro

Runs big and no draw string to keep warm air in. Had to return but still a nice jacket otherwise

Compared to my 10 year old McMurdo (the lining has finally worn out), this new model is deficient in several ways: From the awful velcro closures (damaged my sweater before I even got the jacket out of the bag) to the flimsy hood attachment that's all style and little substance -- won't be much use on a cold, windy day. Even the handy arm pocket is gone, which might be okay of NF added a second inside pocket. I'm returning this parka.

I'm 6'2 225 and the sleeves on these are a bit short. Wished they had a tall version because this is a warm jacket

This jacket is nearly perfect, but its one flaw justifies loss of 2 stars. The fit, warmth, and style are all great. However the cuffs constantly get caught in the velcro strips and become quickly shredded, giving a pretty ugly appearance. If north face swaps out that velcro with snap buttons or changes the material of the cuffs then this will be a perfect jacket.

The North Face Men's McMurdo Bomber is an excellent jacket with a lot of utility and design. The water resistance is top-notch and keeps you dry in wet conditions. The two drawbacks are that the sleeves could be an inch longer, and the cuffs sometimes get stuck on the velcro. Overall, it's a solid jacket that's perfect for outdoor activities.
