First off beware of the velcro on the jacket!!! Once it get stuck of the cuffs this is what happens. I read some of the reviews and this was one of the main complaints about the overall of the jacket. If not for this I would have given it a 5Star rating. I bought this jacket knowing what I was getting into, Now to the performance this Jcket is AMAZING!!! Does everything you need it to do, it's warm, comfortable, breathable, dry, haven't tested in the rain yet but for 10 degree weather and windy this jacket is 10/10 so far. I'm 5'11" 254 pounds I bought a 3xl because I wanted to wear this with extra layering or another hoodie but you don't need to. You can just wear a polo shirt or a long sleeve and you will be fine. My true size is 2xl but like I said I like wearing extra layers. As you can see from the pictures once that velcro makes contact that's what it does to the Cuffs. That's the only reason for 4 stars

Velcro sticks to wrist part, which is annoying. I'm satisfied except that.

All outdoor winter activity. I am 'hyper' cold-natured so I was looking for the very warmest jacket I could find. The McMurdo Bomber fits every bill except one. I am not the first to share this observation, but NF really needs to address this issue in its future versions. This jacket emphasizes WARMTH - given the highest rating in such matters - that attention should include insulating the pockets and the hood - with possibly matching black down or other such material. While that is my only criticism, it's an important area in selling a 'complete' garment against cold elements. The style and fit of the jacket are terrific.

I got this product on sale for black Friday shopping (25% off), and it has been great for the past month.
Pros:
- Incredibly warm yet compact. It is far less bulky than some other jackets I tried on and keeps me incredibly warm. I like in St. Louis, and I routinely bike to school in 20/30 degree weather (plus windchill) with just a t-shirt underneath and don't feel a thing.
-Ribbed cuffs and waistband keep a good seal on your body so the wind doesn't blow up underneath the jacket.
- Good fit: I'm 5'7", 150lbs, and a small fits well
Cons (small, nitpicky things):
- Zipper is not as heavy duty as I would have liked
- Ribbed cuff material sticks to the velcro and causes pilling
- Feathers shed quicker than I expected
- When the jacket is zipped up all the way, the sinches for the hood rub up against your chin
Overall: While there are some small things that I would like to change with this jacket, it is overall an incredible buy for the price. I highly recommend

This coat definitely keeps you warm in arctic temperatures. I think the Velcro closure can be a hindrance unless coat zipped up and velcro in place.

You should not concern about winter with this jacket. The warmest jacket I have ever had. However, the distal part of arms(which was made by different material) are consist of low qualified material. Size perfectly matched to my body.

Extremely nice, the only problem is the right side of the collar sticks up while the left side lays flat. Just annoying and looks goofy.

I bought this coat for my son, it's a nice coat but I dislike the rib on cuffs and hem. The material could have been better especially for being a North Face. Within a week both the cuffs and hem started to look bad. It's my only dislike about this coat. Please see the picture I uploaded for visual.

The jacket is amazingly warm! My only complaint is that the cuffs get stuck to the Velcro all the time when zipping the jacket, causing the cuffs to look badly.

Great jacket, length on arms were slightly short. Good on body, enough space to layer. Other than that, would buy again.

Great warmth and build, but the hood's internal cord lock rubs against my face and gets uncomfortable. Wish this design detail was shown in the photos.

Relax fit , good for layering
Roomy for the size , I'm 5'10 inches tall
Large size feels roomy but ok
Arms length feel shorter
Unlike my CG , longer arms better
This jacket is like loose fitting
Zipper could be better with pull tab
Bomber look will be subjective to fit
So be aware of your expectations

Did you switch fabric ? You can tell a lot by the fabric. Use polyester better thsn nylon .

I like this jacket but I really wanted to love it. It fits perfectly and keeps me warm but who I do not know who designed the velcro with those cloth sleeves. The velcro tears them up making the jacket look much older than it is. The velcro also catches on the sleeve often when the jacket is open and when zipping up making it very annoying. North Face really needs to do a redesign. Once again the jacket is great otherwise but I still wish I had listened to other reviews who mentioned this issue before I made the purchase. I would have likely thought twice.

The jacket is warm, but the Velcro near the zipper often gets caught on the sleeve, causing damage to the wrist area and tearing the fabric.

The coat is very nice and fits well. The Velcro was a very poor choice for this product. I only had the coat for a day and the sleeves kept getting caught on the velcro; this totally ruined it for me. I ended up going with an older model with snap buttons.

Seems to be made well enough, though a bit overpriced for what it is. Also, it's not as warm as I was hoping for.

I have used it for ten days and it is the warmest and water resistant, it dries really fast. But the cuffs get stuck on the velcove a lot and the zipper from one of the pockets broke so easily.

Not happy with the velcro sticking onto parts of the Bomber that they shouldnt be sticking to. This will deterioate the sleeves in the wrists area quickly.
