My husband says this is his favorite Christmas gift -- actually it's tied with his Wicked Good moccasins. He loves the zip instead of buttons or a pullover for easy on and off. It can be dressed up to go out or worn around the house for coziness. I like the styling; it's not too "elderly" as cardigans can be on men. And the blue looks great on him. True to size and very comfortable.

I'm glad I read the reviews. This does run big. He always takes a large in sweaters. I ordered large and a med. at the same time and returned the large. A good idea because the sweater was on time. The bad part is the return took a very long time to process and I had to pay the entire bill incl the cost of both sweaters or be charged a late fee for not having my bill paid in full, if I deducted the cost of the returned sweater. Not good customer service to me.

I gave this sweater to my godson for Christmas, and bought one for my husband last year. They love them. The shade of blue is beautiful, and having a zip-up sweater is a real pleaser -- it's comfortable and good-looking. I've already worn my husband's -- oversized on me, but it's cozy, warm, and looks great with jeans! I may have to order one for myself since he's not a good sharer.

This sweater fit my 5'9" frame perfectly and boy is it warm! This is NO-Light weight! This sweater was designed to keep you warm and look good in the process! I also think that this is a quality built sweater, the details are all on the mark and I expect it to last for a good long time. Has a quality YKK zipper too. Machine washable in cold, and having washable sweaters is another reason to buy a front loading washing machine. Lay it on a clean/dry bath towel after washing and let it dry and you're good to go.

I have purchased several sweaters over the past couple of years. None were exactly what I wanted...until I found this sweater. Perfect! The weight, the quality the look....all what I've been looking for. I plan on wearing it A LOT for many years to come.

This sweater brought back memories when I was a child. Made the old fashion way. It really is very warm,and comfortable.

My brother is notoriously difficult to shop for. He usually dislikes any gift my mom and I pick out for him, especially clothes. My mom said he might want a sweater for his birthday.. He's a super casual dude, so I wanted to get him something versatile - nothing too "dressy" but nicer than a hoodie. It needed to be warm but not super warm - he lives in SC - and easy to take care of. I didn't get to see the sweater in person, but my mom (who received the package and gave it to him) said the cotton felt very warm without being too heavy. And my brother actually loved it! It met all the requirements I had for it.

My husband is usually averse to sweaters but has really liked these (got gray and blue), especially since they have full front zippers. Would never wear a pullover.

This sweater was perfect for my Dad! So soft and loose knit so he can easily get it on and off.

I am between a Large and Extra Large Tall and this sweater fits me perfectly. Its just a bit larger than true to size which for me is great. I have already received numerous compliments and am very pleased with the purchase. It is quite substantial in thickness and warmth for a cotton sweater...winter item not early fall or late spring. The sweater arrived on time. It's medium weight, so it's perfect for office use. It fit perfectly! Hopefully, the zipper and elbows will not wear out after a year, as I've experienced with other non-LL Bean cardigans.

All natural, organic cotton and a comfortable fit makes this sweater a find. Add in the pricing and it is a great find. Warm, thick material and a smooth functioning zipper show the excellent quality in this sweater.

This sweater is perfect for wear on cool days and nights inside and outside. The weight is right so that it can be warm enough outside, but not too hot inside.

My husband loves this sweater. He always wears a large in LL Bean clothing, but this sweater is generous, so size down.

Thanks LL Bean for the 100% cotton cardigan sweater! Fleece = plastic and does not breathe, yet that is what most everyone sells. I've been looking for a well designed 100% cotton cardigan and they are hard to find. It fits great and is plenty warm for the cooler fall weather we have in NorCal. Also great in the house on cold mornings. I've washed it twice now in the regular wash and dryer, no problem. I recommend it!

In general I really like this sweater for its warmth, comfort and fit. As does my wife. But I don't understand why L.L. Bean designs these potentially wonderful things with no thought to the fact that the pockets are shallow and poorly angled, guaranteed to dump contents, like phones, onto places like car floors where they're impossibly difficult to retrieve. A zippered chest pocket big enough for a cell phone would help make this a game-changer, especially if it were offered in something other than dismal colors. Pulleease, folks, do you not realize that you can proffer organic cotton in sky blue? Bright green? Happy colors?

I purchased this sweater for my adult son, and he seems to have it on whenever I see him. He does not like wool, because his skin is especially sensitive to scratchy fabrics. This heavy weight cotton is perfect. He is not entirely thrilled with the collar, which stands up against his neck when the sweater is mostly zipped but open a few inches down. Not sure if this is just him or something weird about the collar. It looks fine, but apparently feels a bit strange against his neck. As for size, he is 6 feet two inches and weighs 200 pounds, and the tall medium fits perfectly.

Really thick and heavy. Very nice looking and warm. Would buy again. Only frustration is zipper catches the sweater regularly. You have to be very careful zipping.

Zipper is difficult at the bottom of the sweater; That's a pain. Otherwise, it's good looking, but heavy and warm for a cotton sweater. That's good if warm is what you want. Wish the color were more red than brown, but ok.

The fit on this sweater was excellent however the collar was very scratchy. Unless you're confident you will only wear this with a turtleneck, the wearability is limited, thus causing my husband, with much disappointment, to return the sweater.

I own clothes of many shades of gray (not 50 though!) and love them all except this one - the Dark Cinder. The beige intermingled with grey gives it a permanently dusty, dingy appearance. The photos can't do it justice. Other than the color, it is wonderful. Over 2 years so far (purchased via 3rd party), and no signs of wear (exactly as ugly as the day it arrived, haha). Love the warmth, feel, heaviness (like a slightly weighted blanket), and washability of cotton. Also like how it slips on/off easily, not clinging to my shirt like all my other outer garments. The full zip and concealed pockets are great too. Regarding the color, on the upside, I've never owned such a fancy sweater before and felt nervous about the purchase, thinking I might look uppity to my coworkers, but the dingy appearance helped allay my concerns.

This was the second order for these zip sweaters, in a bright green. Fits the same as the blue one I bought months ago. Positives about it: fits well (Large), very comfortable outdoors in chilly weather that is sunny with either no or light (less than 10 mph) winds, not too warm indoors if just reading / sedentary, and unlike the blue one - I didn't expect to get a bunch of complements on it from college girls & middle age women in town, which is definitely is unusual for this older guy. Having two pockets was a surprise, and is convenient for small items. Negatives -- only one, same as with the blue version I have: getting the zipper started is tricky, as both examples of this sweater have a tendency for yarn to jam the zipper at the bottom of the sweater; that may eventually resolve itself, or maybe a pair of small scissors will be needed to clear the track. Absent that problem, a '5' is in order.

Comfortable, good fit, and just the weight I was looking for

Can't wait to give it to my son for his birthday. A new color for him but it will go well in his wardrobe.
