Every t-shirt in my dresser drawer is a size large, including some older favorites I've had for years that were made by LL Bean. These are great t-shirts and I just received the 5 new ones I ordered in my traditional size large. Even though I've gained quite a bit of weight since I first started shopping with LL Bean over 25 years ago, these new shirts look like parachutes on me. That is more than a bit frustrating. I can deal with the fact that I myself am getting larger (i.e. fatter) and am working to address this on my own, I don't need LL Bean trying to compensate for me, lol. Is this the so called "vanity sizing" that I've read about? Normally I would happily give shirts like these 5 stars, but due to the fit issues at least one star had to fall from the sky.

I have several of these t's, mostly I love them. A couple of them seem to have different material for the collar. After a couple washings, they developed "bacon neck".

Same old, same old. I've bought these over and over. But now, medium was huge. Thinking of trying small but don't want to have to pay to return them again if they don't work so guess I'll see what Target has.

Well made tee shirt with a comfortable weight and feel to the fabric, but fit is a little large.

The shirts fit. They keep their shape, all cotton is important to me. Love them...have gotten them for over 20 years now!!! I notice Bean is putting more and more polyester in their clothing. Hate that.

These shirts are well proportioned and comfortable just like the famous Bean chamois shirts but both have the same problem of very poor collar materials that wear and fray long before the rest of the shirt wears out and like most Bean products, over priced. The extra price was valid for years because of the lifetime replacement policy, but that no longer exists, so the high price is simply for people wanting to boost their image by wearing the Bean name. Without the replacement promise the value of Bean products needs to be reconsidered.

Got the Large Tall. Fits great, the neck is a little tight.

Good quality fabric, but it's too large in every dimension. Unless you are an extremely thick person, I would only consider this shirt as an undershirt. It fits like a dress if you leave it untucked.

A good T but too much material to be an undershirt. Can wear as is.

Bought Medium/Tall T-shirt. Sleeves on short-sleeve T-shirt should be one inch longer. F.Y.I. I own 25+ L.L. Bean T-shirts!

I would give the tees 5* if they offered a white tee and more heather colors

Very nice material. They ran a little large for me compared to my other XL t's.

I have worn these for 15 years. I love them. You made them bigger. Approx. 2in. longer and 1in wider then all of my old ones.

These t-shirts seemed to be of a lighter weight material than before. Prefer a little beefier material. Otherwise great.

The unshrinkable t-shirt is true to its name! This shirt is a staple of my husband's wardrobe. He has several colors. Very comfortable, wears and washes well. The sleeve length is perfect and the collar is wide (not skimpy like some t-shirts). The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that some colors fade after a few washings.
Please bring back the white. Everybody needs a few good white t-shirts! I always stocked up on the white ones when there is a sale.

Has a nice soft stretch material. As usual, neck is not tight and shirt is a little too long. So, spent the money to have the neck tightened and shirt shortened. I don't understand why manufactures don't get it...that many of us don't like a low neck T or having the shirt cover our butt. I order my T's ten at a time, take them to the seamstress and am then good for a couple of years. But....with the personal improvements, they are great T's.

I've bought severalCarefree Tees over the years---always bought a Large. And I loved the fit.
About a month ago I bought two more. But they were too big---bigger than any of the Tees I previously purchased. I even spread out the new shirts on my bed and laid older Tees on top---the new shirts where definitely bigger. In fact so much bigger that I returned them which is a pain and costs money.
I like the Carefree Tee when it fits right; hate it when it doesn't. At this point I don't know whether to go with a medium or if Bean will go back to its old sizing.
LL Bean---please don't do this!!!

The quality of the shirts is very good, heavy material which I like. Only problem is I should have gotten a Large instead my normal X-Large. The cut is bigger than most t-shirts.

I ordered this first as a large, which I always wear. It was too big. I returned it and re-ordered a medium. Fits properly.

I've been buying t-shirts here for over 20 years without size problems until now. Bought three of these, all were a full size too large. Returned and bought one size smaller, which was perfect.

I ordered the Tall version to allow the shirt to be worn w/o being tucked in and so the shirt lays flat against the body in the rear.
Collar quickly starts to curl with use.
