Well made! Comfy, Perfect Gift for husband and father

Very nice vest, well made. It does seem to be rather roomy for an extra large, the reason for a rating of four, not a five.

Bought this in medium for my husband for Christmas. He loved the quality, it is lined and well made but it was a bit large. We returned it for a small. Currently still waiting for it to arrive so he can wear it.

Very good quality. Collar stay up nicely. Vest keeps me warm.

I got this as a replacement for an airlight vest that I returned after 1 day due to quality issues. It's pretty well made, warm and functional. I've worn it as a second layer under some jackets and it's worked well. I got it in late November and I have worn it every other day as it works well over a t-shirt while I work from home. Now it's a month later the fabric has severe pilling. I had to take a sweater stone over it to remove all the pilling, hence why I only gave it 4 stars. Other than the severe pilling it's a nice, sturdy vest for everyday use. I hope it holds up over time.

I have 10 LL Bean Vests. This is also a great addition. My only complaint is the zippers don't have pull tabs attached. A little thing that goes well when wearing gloves. Hopefully, LL Bean won't do this in the future

I had always wanted to compare the LL Bean Sweater Vest against the competition's Better Sweater. I purchased the LL Bean Sweater Vest as a Birthday present. Although the description says it was fitted; it was Not and if anything it flares out at the bottom. I am 5'9" 180 with a 42" chest and I usually fit fine in a LL Bean size Large. In this vest I could have possibly fit in a medium, and the main reason I bought this was because it was described as Fitted. The quality is a little more sturdy than the competition's but not as Fitted. But overall I am happy with this purchase. And I have been buy LL Bean apparel for around 35-40 years.

This vest is very classy. I love the material and the way it looks. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it runs large. My son is 6'4" and 210 lbs. I originally purchased a Tall XL but returned it without even giving it to him. I exchanged it for a Tall L. It is a Christmas present, so we'll see how it fits. The ordering and exchange process was flawless.

The only slightly annoying thing that I've noticed is that the front panel that runs the length of the zipper is very stiff and thus the vest doesn't lie flat and flexible but sort of bubbles out down the front. Not being a tailor I don't know if this is related to the weight of the fabric, the zipper or construction of the garment. Maybe it will loosen up over time or with washings (although one doesn't usually wash a vest very often).

Nice easy jacket to wear here in Florida. It is warm enough for our winters in North Florida. It looks good on too.

Shell is pilling all over. Especially around arm holes and front pocet. Worn 5 times and i keep my phone in the breast pocket.

Works well by itself to keep you warm indoor or under your winter coat.

I like it very much. A few years back you made a sweater vest that had a part wool and part nylon outer shell. It's still my favourite and (so far) indestructible.

These vests are good. I have three of them. I purchased them in small, because as with my LL. Bean sweaters, they run large.

A little big. The medium would likely not have been big enough for good layering.

It runs large. A medium would have worked better for someone who normally orders a large

I have both the vest and jacket. The only wish I have is that they would have a two way zipper. Especially for driving and watching TV. It would make both pieces more functional and more comfortable

Great vest. It is versatile in heather gray, and can work well with both casual and business casual wear. Getting the sizing right, however, was difficult. I'm between sizes -- L and XL -- so I first ordered a L, which ended up being way too big. I was swimming in it. Exchanged it for a M-Tall, which fits perfectly. I'd give the product 5 stars and the shopping experience 3 stars, so overall 4 stars balanced-out. I understand why the customer should pay shipping for a straight return, but it was frustrating to have to pay for an exchange.

If you don't like cotton, this outerwear vest is "endgame." If you don't like polyester, this vest may give you nightmares. The fit is excellent. Sporting a spare tire? You need this.

Vest was a bit too large for my personal taste. Gifted to a friend - likes the fit and that the vest can be worn under a casual sport coat, jacket or as an outside garment in non-rain cool weather. Wish was for an inside chest pocket on right side of vest.

Soft inner lining, nice outer layer, solid zippers, quality fabric, like chest pocket. Two recommendations 1- add a cinch cord around bottom hem and 2- add windstopper layer.

Overall, it's a nice product. I like the zippered pockets, weight, and color. On the other hand, it definitely is NOT slightly fitted as stated in the description. I contemplated returning the medium for a small since it's baggy around the middle, however, will probably just keep the medium. I will continue to purchase from LL Bean due to their quality service, ease of doing business, and great products.

Excellent quality and comfortable. Wish the LLBean logo was less "in your face" though. It stands out far too much.
