I had one of these in the early 90s and was excited to see it offered again. It is pretty much exactly like I remember - a nylon anorak. It is lightweight, but does a good job cutting the wind and pairs well with a light fleece to temperatures in the mid 40s if you are active. It happened to lightly rain when I was wearing it, the water beaded off and cleared with a bit of a shake. Don't expect it to keep you dry in all day rain, or a downpour. It isn't goretex or one of the latest high tech fabrics. What it is is a good simple anorak that looks nice and stows away in a backback for a nice fall or spring walk in the woods.

The brown strings with the black jacket make it perfect to wear with black or brown boots. It's lightweight but keeps my husband warm on windy fall mornings. The fit is flattering. It doesn't stop at the waist. It falls to the upper thigh.

Great fit and quality of construction. Have worn this jacket in light and heavy rains and have stayed dry. I appreciate the front pockets especially.

I purchased the men's Anorak in Spruce. Great color. I am 5'9" and weigh 165 lbs. The men's medium fit me very well, I even had room for a nike sweatshirt underneath, and it was very comfortable. Very pleased with the purchase. I do a lot of walking, every day I can, and the anorak will come in handy. Recommended !!

My wife and I visited freeport and LLBean on July 22, 2018. We both loved this pullover so we both bought one. The quality of the pullover is what sold us.

I love this anorak! It looks great. It's lightweight but still very warmperfect for places with unpredictable weather. Reading the other reviews I was nervous about the sizing, but a medium fit me perfectly (I'm 5'9", 175 pounds with an athletic build). The arms look a bit fitted but I had full movement. The waist looks kind of wide but there is a draw-string to adjust it.

I swear by LL Bean anoraks!! I was so disappointed when they were not available for the past few years and tried 3 different brands to find one similar to Beans. All 3 fell way short of the mark and I am thrilled that I now have the real thing! I did buy the color block anorak from Bean's but the two tone made my hips look so big I returned it and went for solid. I am going to buy another to put away just in case they are discontinued in the future!

This windbreaker is fabulous. Love the roomy front zippered pocket. Took it to the Bahamas on very windy days. Water resistant, too. Very comfortable. I have the extra large, tall...I am 6ft. and it is a perfect fit.

This is my third anorak from Bean. I have the XL reg. in spruce. I am 6'1" 200lbs and this fits perfectly. The long version would be too long for me. Yes, it's different than previous designs, but it's made well nonetheless. It's hard to find a nice simple windbreaker these days, I like having this simple jacket to take the edge off the weather when you need it.

Bought one for my husband and myself for our upcoming trip to the Azores. He didn't really think he needed one but he's used it so much already and he loves it! Fits well, made well and keeps us dry without keeping us too warm like our lined rain jackets. Perfect layering piece and will be perfect for those low 60 degree temps while hiking and whale watching on our trip!

I've been looking for something like this, specifically for travel, for quite a while now. Something That would keep me dry in wet weather, hood mandatory, lightweight, and that I could wear over layers. This really fits the bill. I'm 6'3", 230 so I bought the XXL Tall and I'm glad I did as it's a perfect fit, with room to wear it over anything from a t shirt, to a shirt, and or a fleece layer for warmth. Love the fact that this fits neatly into its own front pocket and very happy with the spruce color too. This will live in the front pouch of my suitcase for now on. For someone that likes to pack light it's great!

I originally ordered a 2XL bc I was worried that the XL would be to small. I am about 5' 10'' 215lbs. The 2XL was huge. Sent it back for a XL. The XL has plenty of room for layering underneath.
Jacket is light and will be perfect during the Fall and Spring in the South. Also when its randomly 60 degrees in the winter.

I Love this jacket!!!!!! I purchased it to wear on the water in windy conditions and with a fleece underneath on my bike. I take it with me everywhere I go, But today, it proved itself. I had just gotten out of my truck and set the alarm when it poured so hard, I thought it was just raining on me!!!( I'm in Florida ) I ran to get into the store, but it was a ways. Got in and started shopping and realized I was bone dry. Seriously? you had to be there!!! Great Anorak!!!! Buy it!!!!

I have a 20+ year old Bean Anorak. It is great to see a classic again being offered. The new version is improved with updated nylon cloth material. I am very pleased with my purchase, although, I still can't discard my old tattered friend.

This product was a birthday gift for my son who lives in Louisville. He is an avid trail biker (bicycle). He called me to say that he really liked it; having received the Anorak that day, he wore it on a 20-mile ride. He claimed that it blocked the wind very well. He hasn't worn it in the rain yet, however. He liked the style (which is saying something) and how it folds into its own pouch. His approval is my approval. And, I've decided to give it 5 stars although he has had it only a couple of weeks.

I grew up playing hockey on the pond behind our house with my brothers and sisters. This anorak is what we wore every day in the winter, with sweaters underneath. That was 25-30 years ago. So I was very happy to see that LLBean is now selling this updated version. In my memory the original version felt a little bit more like dense woven cotton (although it may have been a blended fabric), while this one feels a little bit more like a slightly thinner synthetic fabric, but it's still great to have. I went for a jog yesterday morning in the rain in New Mexico, it was around 47 degrees, and it worked great, shed water well. Also, I felt the sleeves were a little short. I initially ordered a regular L, but because the sleeves were a bit short I re-ordered the "tall" version. My sleeve length is 34-35 in dress shirts.

Bought it to walk my dog in any spring weather. Fabric feels solid, yet very light. I am 6'4" 190lb, got size XLT. It is true to its size, but tight over polartec.
It will be perfect for touch warmer weather, and for now I am getting a second one XXLT

This Anorak is one of the best items EVER created by LL Bean... I first bought one over 20 years ago(and I still have it, wish I could include a picture), but it was starting to show its age, I mean, after 20 years of constant use, we all show our age. I remember looking on the website a couple years ago and seeing that the Anorak was no longer in stock, so I gave up on getting another, I tried a couple of other ones and they just did not do it for me, so I contacted Customer Service and asked them if they would ever make these again, and was told they should be in stock at the first of the year, well I kept checking and checking, then finally in mid February, I checked and they had them. Ordered one right away, when it arrived I tried it on and something did not feel quite right, the material was softer than the old style, the fit was a bit more relaxed, I could not believe that they had actually improved upon my "go to" light wind breaker... Even though I live in Florida now, I can see this Anorak getting plenty of use in the fall winter and spring.... Thanks LL Bean for all the years of enjoyment I got out of the first one, I am sure it will be the same with my new one.... I will still use my original one for fishing and other messy things.... It still works....Even after 20+ years.

This is similar to the anoraks that Bean has sold in the past. Quality construction and materials. A bit most form fitting, but not tight at all. The packing pocket feature is a plus.

A Bean anorak is an extremely versatile, durable piece of kit. My Bean anorak collection now numbers 7, the earliest being a 1980s model that's still in great shape and worn regularly. Glad they're back on the market after 3 years absence. Just received my 2017 model. It's made of soft supplex nylon that feels somewhat like cotton. The long front zipper is 6" longer than previously, making it easier to pull on and ventilate. Consequently the kangaroo pocket is smaller (still 8" deep on a medium, though). The waist cinch cord is now gone. Hood cord keepers are retro leather discs instead of cordlocks. Fit is somewhat more athletic than the 2012 model (which was cut wide) and more in line with the traditional fit of other Bean 'raks, ie, neither confining nor drapey. The hood no longer has the wide velcro hood fit strap that the 2012 model did, which in my opinion is a good thing. I like the hood shape; with a cap underneath it's effective in rain. Reverses to easily stow into its own kangaroo pocket. And the bottom hem cinch cord is now accessible from both sides. If you want to waterproof the garment, I recommend you not use detergent to wash; use a sports wash soap instead. Detergent will "resist" waterproofing treatments. Bean tends to suspend anorak production every so often; if you're an anorak fan, consider picking one up while they're available.
