Found this coat in the LL BEAN Catalog and had to buy it for my wife. Selected the black one and both of us love it. Extremely well-made, excellent fit, not bulky or heavy and appropriate for casual or even dressy wear. Warm and a great coat for driving, here in NC where we currently have snow on the ground.

Got this for my mom for Christmas and she loves it. Fit perfect, comfortable and warm. She couldn't be happier!

This is not a jacket for extreme cold, it has been great for me in moderately cold weather. I just walked all around San Francisco in December, and this coat kept me nice and warm. i feel like it is quite stylish also and I like that it comes down to cover my hips.

I actually bought this jacket to use for horseback riding. It is the perfect length and fit for sitting on a horse. The weight of the jacket is perfect for an active sport; not too bulky or heavy but warm enough on a chilly day. There is enough room for an extra layer underneath should the weather turn colder. I find the jacket stylish enough to use for casual wear. Very pleased with this purchase.

I just love this jacket. The black has a classic look and is very comfortable for the fall into winter season. The two way zipper is also very convenient for wear in the car and the length is just perfect as it falls at mid thigh.

Bought this jacket in black two years ago, love the way it fits, looks. It is warm, comfortable, looks great with jeans or a dress. Even in the northeast can wear it all winter long. Purchased it in navy this year.

I'm 5'7", about 130 lbs, 34C, and usually wear a small regular/misses in LL Bean outerwear. I ordered this jacket in black, size small. The jacket looks very classic. I like the plaid lining that shows when I roll the sleeves and the green corduroy on the underside of the collar. It fits comfortable over a sweater or fleece but I usually just wear it with a button-down or tee. The fit is a little roomy, which is what I prefer. The jacket comes down over my rear, which is nice because it keeps me warmer. This jacket is comfortable down into the 40s if there's no wind. The coat seems to be at least wind resistant but it's not insulated enough for me to wear in high, cold winds. Overall perfect for running errands and being outside in fall weather. The one downside to this coat is the zipper. It's two-way which is handy for sitting in the car but it's also hard for me to get the two zipper pulls to sit together so I can zip up the jacket. I've never owned a jacket with a two-way zipper before though so I may just not be sufficiently used to dealing with two zipper pulls. Despite the minor zipper issue, I think this jacket is a good buy.

Very comfortable, flattering and warmer than I thought it would be! It's not too heavy and good quality. I would size down (as I do with most LL Bean stuff) - I am 5'10", athletic build, 148 lbs and I ordered a small. It fits over sweaters perfectly.

I bought this jacket thinking of a kind of transitional jacket for fall. It is much more than that! I love this jacket, got it in the green. It is very warm and cozy. If I wear light sweater or cardigan under it, I am nice and warm. I usually wear a scarf as well. I was surprised how versatle it is. Really great jacket.

I wore it this afternoon under a waffle knit henley. It was 60 degrees and I was comfortable. I recommend this jacket for weather around 60 degrees in the sun. Some people say it runs large; I say the opposite. I bought this last year in a petite medium and repurchased this year in a petite large. The sleeves are a little long but they can be rolled up showing the lining.

I got this jacket in green and it's a great colour and a beautiful coat! My one complaint, like other reviewers, is that it runs very large, but is still narrow through the shoulders and the dimensions are a little off. To put it in perspective, I'm 5'11, about 140 lb, about 34D, 25" waist, 36" hips, and I got an XS. While I'm definitely tall and lanky, the jacket was still fairly roomy on me, and I would consider going down to an XXS if it was available. Essentially, if you're shorter and very thin, you're going to be sized out of this coat unless you're looking for a very roomy fit. The waist hit a little bit above my natural waist and it was large through the entire body and arms, while the shoulders are slightly narrow, but I'm a fairly difficult body type to fit correctly, so I considered it a success for the price. The sleeves were exactly the right length for me without rolling them up, but I have long limbs, so I imagine they would be too long on a shorter person. I would say that if the coat happens to fit your body type, it's a great purchase, and definitely size down at least one size, if not two. That said, I like it so much I'm considering ordering another one in navy! The green is very nice though, highly recommend it.

Nice jacket. I am 5' 2" and about 110 and ordered a petite small. Although personally I wish the waist was a bit smaller with so many body types and sizes out there what might fit me perfectly may not fit someone else. I adjusted the side snaps to the shortest position and it has a nice classic look. It is a good size for me in that I can layer with turtleneck & sweater and or vest when it is chiller or just a shirt during warmer weather. I leave the sleeves unturned - they can seem a bit long but when my arms are bent such as while driving I am glad to have the extra length as they cover my wrists. All in all I love this coat and would buy again.

I bought this during a trip in Massachusetts where this horrible soaking mist lasted an entire day. This is warm but not too hot, very comfortable where you can easily move and drive in it, lightweight but warm, and waterproof or resistant at least. Very nice fall/autumn wardrobe staple at a good price. I got mine in olive, and I might consider getting another one in navy too.

This is a great item, comes as described, with warmth for transitional seasons or cooler weather with layering. It has room for a shirt with light thermal, or a fitness fleece (light wgt.). The arms have room for movement and activities, and I like the longer length. I ordered the dark ivy color which is nice. It is true to fit: I am usually an XS in LLBean's many items and this was fine. 5'4" 117# Sleeves are always a little long for me, easy to turn back. This cozy item will get lots of wear!

I bought this jacket in black in extra large thinking that the large would be too big. It fit well and is long enough to go over some blouses I wear as they are longer blouses. The black color goes with everything. It has 2 snaps on the back to pull in the jacket tighter which makes it more tapered. I really like the jacket!

Love this jacket in Marine Blue! I usually wear size 4-6 so I ordered a Small & it fits perfectly. With a light to mid-weight sweater, this jacket will be perfect for those winter-spring days & nights!

I love LLB clothing but at 5'1" and under 100lbs, it's hard to find a fit. Petitie XS could not be more perfect in this jacket. You can snap the back tabs to give a more fitted look. Not only the fit is great but it's a sharp little jacket! The plaid lining is pretty and both outside color and inside is soft. I purchased the creamy white one, hoping for a warmer weather "go-to" everyday coat. Got it!!! It's lightweight but warm...pretty much covers posterior too, which matters to me. I'm very happy to have it!

This is a great jacket. It fits well, and looks very nice on. I wear a Medium in tops, and this jacket in size Medium fits perfectly with enough room to wear a sweater or jersey with a sweater. It's warm enough for some winter days and perfect for spring and fall. Can be worn for most occasions as it's sharp looking but also looks great with jeans. Add a pretty scarf, and you're all set. My daughter (in her 30's) also has this jacket and loves it. It works for any age! The waist shaping tabs are flattering.

My daughter asked for a quilted fitted coat for Christmas. I found this while looking for other items at LLBean. She loves this coat and has many complements from her high school friends! It is perfect for 30 degree days going to and from her car.

I love the stylish quilted jacket with the great details, warmth, and comfort. I originally ordered a Petite Medium Black and the fit was comfortable and allowed giving space to wear a thick sweater underneath with a nice longer length. But I felt that the sleeves were a bit too big for my arms, and since I do not prefer a bulky fit I exchanged for a Small Petite instead. I am 5' 2" 150lbs 36D and the small fits perfectly and looks sleek and stylish with a great length and comfort. Thank you Krista for the wonderful and quick customer service! I had called in for an exchange order and received it in just two days, and happy that I did since I can return the bigger sizes.

I ordered this to wear on cold Midwestern winter days when I don't want a lot of bulk...and it is great! The coat is well-made and the adjustable waist tabs help me not to feel like I'm a shapeless blob. For reference, I am almost always a size small (4-6) and am 5'8". The small fits perfectly and the sleeves are long enough, but not too long. Definitely can recommend this!!

Love this jacket! I needed a lightweight winter jacket and this Riding Jacket is perfect! I wear it in the fall, winter, and spring--anytime the weather is between 10-55 degrees this is my go-to jacket. It's lightweight, breathable, and wind-resistant. I've had this coat for 2+ years now, wear it 9 months out of the year, and it still looks brand-new.
