Love this jacket! It is the perfect weight for an early spring day here in the northeast. Fits well. Always pleased with Bean quality.

LLBEAN you've done it again! I've had several Riding Jackets over my 75 years and this one is the BEST! The cut is flattering and hits below the hip and the plaid lining gives this jacket a little "oomph"! I can roll the sleeves to show off the plaid or not; and there is a nice metal snap at the end of the sleeve that could be unbuttoned for a different look!
The zipper is a "two-way" zip...so you can unzip the bottom for getting in and out of the car. There are also the same metal snaps, as the sleeves, if you would rather button than zip! A great weight for Spring/ Fall weather in the Mid-West!
This jacket pairs well with jeans or slacks and should be a staple in everyone's closet! Thank you LLBEAN!

I'm 5'10 and 140lb and have a hard time finding jackets with long enough sleeves. I ordered this jacket in a medium and it fits great! It would also look good on a shorter person as the inside lining is cute to cuff the sleeves. I used the buttons on the back to tighten it as the medium was a little big and now it fits just right. Not a very heavy jacket. Wearing it today with a sweater and it's about 50 degrees out. Probably wouldn't wear it in weather below 40.

I'm so glad I bought the Cayenne when it was available, this new blue red would not have suited me. I came on here to see if there is a scarf that complements it, I want something bright. The Cayenne is lovely, a little more red than depicted. I love the fit, the plaid lining (even if it is a print) and the nice finish on the seams and especially the color that I snagged.

Bought this coat in hunter green...get a lot of compliments. Love the snap buttons; makes it easy to put on when I don't feel liking using the zipper. Fit is just right: not too fitted so I can still wear a big sweater underneath. The plaid lining extends to the inside of the sleeves, so I turned the sleeve up to show a cute plaid cuff! I'm thinking of buying this in another color.

I am loving this jacket and the fact that LL Bean offers it in petite size range. I got it in Navy and absolutely adore the shade of blue. It fits perfectly and the style is timeless, definitely an investment piece for me personally - price vs quality is unique to LL Bean brand. I l love the jacket so much, that am getting another one in color Cream to wear in the Spring.

This jacket is exactly what I wanted it to be. I initially ordered the XL Petite because I wanted to be able to wear a sweater under it without it being tight on my arms or stomach, but the XL ended up being too roomy so I returned for size L petite. It fits perfectly. I ordered it in the forest green color, which is beautiful and complements jeans and black pants well. The sleeves are not too long, but even so, I ended up folding them back to show the pattern inside and because I like to be able to see my watch without pulling my sleeve back. The side snaps are really flattering if you want to cinch the jacket in a bit. As others have noted, the zipper took me a few minutes a couple deep breaths to get worked out at first, but now I have no problem with it. I absolutely LOVE this jacket and it is very flattering, so much so that I have worn it probably 4-5 days a week since I got it.
One small caveat: I would not be caught wearing this jacket in -15 degree weather, like the description says. It is not that warm. It is perfect for my needs though!
For reference, I wear size 10/12/14 in pants and size L in shirts.

this jacket is well made and has all the bells and whistles I wanted. I returned it because, as a rather busty person, it was too tight across the chest. I always have this problem with llbean but it is hardly their fault. Otherwise, it was absolutely up to the standards of llbean.

This versatile coat is equally suited to going out to dinner or raking leaves. The fit is roomy enough to add a layer underneath. The weight is perfect for winters in the south. The flattering fit made me feel tall and thin, which I am not! It takes very little room in a suitcase so it is ideal for travel. This jacket is a winner!

Originally I ordered a Small because I'm typically a Med across the board in clothing. The Small was actually way too big and had to end up returning for an X-Small. Love this jacket though! I flip the cuffs up at the wrist to see the plaid underneath, and I've gotten so many compliments. Definitely size down than what you think you'd be. I'm 5'6, 135lbs, 32DD, a usual size 4 across the board.

I bought the cayenne color first, was sooo happy with it, I ordered the black one too. Receive many compliments. No regrets with the jackets at all, great fit and style.

This is a great jacket. There are enough details to make it flattering and attractive without being too flashy. I love the hip length, not too long but long enough to cover my not tucked in shirts. It is warm enough to wear on the average fall and winter days. Wouldn't be warm enough for spending a lot of time out in the real cold. Great for wearing when you don't want a super bulky coat...doing errands, enjoying the outdoors, going to work, date night... an all around jacket.

I brought a larger size so I could wear sweaters under it. Works great.
I have to roll up the the sleeves as they are to long for me but it is a nice touch with the lining in plaid showing.

I bought this jacket for my Mom. Loved the style and fit. Very attractive look and the fit was true to size. Only wish it had a heavier lining. The jacket is more for the spring but can still wear it on not so cold days.

Absolutely great jacket. I found this jacket appealing in its look. Reminds me of a riding jacket. It fits and feels wonderful. I purchased it in green. Great color. Would buy again.!

This Jacket is phenomenal. Perfect for the cool temperatures. What I notice is that it is great for weather up until the temperature reaches 25 degrees. After 25 degrees, it's time for a coat, or layers. Overall, it looks great and is very lightweight. Can take rain and snow to an expected amount. Great purchase.

An excellent look. Similar to designer styles with the tartan liner that was exactly what I wanted. I layer under this some flannel and wool to keep warm and prefer this option for lightweight backpacking.

I've been wearing this for about 2 months and I really love it! I made the mistake of wearing it to a bonfire and it smelled really strongly of smoke the next day. I didn't have time to wash it, but by day two after the fire, it didn't smell at all any more! I have washed it a few times and it washes really well. It is warm, looks nice, and so far has been wearing well. I'm glad I bought it!

I loved this coat so much I bought it twice! I wore one for a year, but it was a little too small, so I sized up and gave the older one to my mom. This coat is perfect for such a wide range of weather! The outer layer keeps the wind and rain out, even in windy Kansas! It's warm enough for *most* Kansas temperatures, usually down into the mid-teens, with some other thin layers, hat, and gloves. I love that it gives that kind of warmth without being bulky. I like that it gives a slightly more feminine silhouette without being super tight. It's also easy to keep clean - no dog fur sticking to it, easy to get stains off, machine washable. I wish it were a little bit longer to keep my bottom warm, but that's a minor complaint compared to how much use I've gotten out of this coat.

I purchased this one for my daughter who commutes to the city. She loves it. I purchased the Petite Small and it fits great. I have one in Navy and my mom has one in Black. The plaid lining is a nice look. It is waterproof and nice for fall and cool spring mornings.

The website pictures don't give a good sense of how lovely this jacket is it did not appeal to me until I saw it in person at the LL Bean store. I would describe it as elegant casual. The navy is a beautiful darker shade, and I love the details like the snaps at the back for shaping the waist and the corduroy underside of the collar. My only complaint (for which I would deduct 1/2 star if possible) is that the zipper is a bronze colored chunky-toothed plastic zipper rather than actual metal, which detracts somewhat from the "look" of the jacket in my opinion. I also found it to run long I am 5'7", but the proportions of the M regular, including the sleeves and overall length, were too long on me; fortunately, the M petite fit perfectly. I otherwise found it to be true to size (I am size 10, C cup, and the medium was just right, though it might be a little snug on someone more busty). Also, I found it odd that the search results showed the warmth rating for this jacket as -35 to -15 (possibly an error??); this is clearly a fall jacket that I doubt would be sufficiently warm below 40 F.

I usually wear an XS to SM in LLBean coats. Ordered this in both sizes. XS was way too small and the SM just fit, but was tight in the bicep/shoulder area when I reached forward like on does driving a car. And this was with a normal shirt on underneath. I read a few other reviews that noted the same problem Now, I have ordered the MD. I hope it is not too big in the waist and hips, but I dislike the pull on the upper arm area even more. I am a thin build also, so was quite surprised by the fit. This is a beautiful looking coat in every other way and I can't wait to see if the MD will fit better!
