Ran a little on the larger side but VERY warm for how thin it is. Would get another in a smaller size.

I wore my Cresta 250 a lot last winter, so I was glad to see one in black. It is soft and fits me well. However, the thumb holes are on the bottom seam of the arms, which means they line up with your pinkies... So if you want to use them, you'll have to twist the sleeves around. I'm not thrilled with a useless gap at my wrist, so I'll either sew it up, or this one may go back. Skip the thumb holes, LLBean!

Nice top but not as nice or as warm as the old ones

I bought this top and matching bottom hoping they would be warm underlayers. It seems no one makes heavyweight underwear in natural fibers anywhere. (I don't want to wear synthetics for health and environmental reasons.) These items are nice but thin, no warmer than my cotton ones, meaning I am cold in this weather, even indoors during this cold spell. I am keeping them but wish I had not spent this large amount of money and not gotten what I need.

Does what it says on the tin and is comfortable, but within 3 years holes start appearing in the fabric -- the knit part, not the seams. Unacceptable given the premium price. I machine wash, air dry indoors in winter, so there's no obvious reason for the deterioration.

This top is really warm and soft as I expected it to be. I also like that it has enough style that it can be worn by itself or as a base layer. The reason I gave 3 stars is that the overall fit was good and appropriately snug for a base layer however it clearly runs too short as I ordered a large tall size (I'm 6' & 220lb) as I have a longer torso and I can't easily keep it tucked in. Also, I found that it did shrink slightly after washing it so that made it even shorter.

I bought this baselayer in grey last year and LOVED it- really soft and warm, long enough not to ride up in the front or back, and sleeves long enough to cover my wrists and use the thumb holes. I bought the blue this year and it was not nearly as good- not as soft, the body was so short that it rode up when I moved, and the arms just came down to my wrists- way too short to use the thumb holes comfortably. I bought the same size as last time and my older one still fits well. Please make these longer again!

After reading other reviews and checking the size chart, size small was the best fit. It fits perfectly -- not too tight and not too loose. I purchased the 250 weight top in the purple color. However, if this is real Merino wool, I am surprised that the instructions indicate to machine wash. My other Merino wool garments suggest hand washing in cold water with only a couple of drops of mild dishwashing detergent to prevent breakdown of the fibers. Also, Merino wool is supposed to be very soft against the skin but this garment is not soft like my other ones. The garment does work to keep me warm, almost too warm when I'm out for my daily walk. I will see how it performs for snow shoeing this winter layered under fleece lined snow pants.

Wearing it just an hour and my skin felt scratch. I wish it wasnt so as I liked the fit, color and style. I usually wear a LLBean small but needed x-small for a good fit.

I purchased this set in October 2022 and recently both elbows split and got runs in them. I repaired one but the other was so bad I couldn't repair. I am very surprised this happened because I have other LLbean long underwear sets (from 2016) that I wear to bed in the winter as well and this has never happened before. Except for this unfortunate issue which means I will have to get rid of the top even though it is in great shape otherwise, these tops have been great.

Runs smaller than it should be for a fitted base layer and sleeves are classically too short, as most LL Bean tops are, causing the thumb holes to be painful. Was soft but itchy. The neckline is cut wrong as well and kept feeling too tight along the front. I was excited for this base layer and was disappointed.
