Ran waaay large. Also long on my short legs. Looks like they would be good for hiking, but maybe order a size down.

These shorts are not becoming on a short person! Normal sized waist but big baggy, long legs. Sent them back.

I was so excited to get these shorts. Unfortunately, they wrinkle so badly I won't wear them.

I have worn and loved the ripstop shorts and own several pairs XL. I purchased the taupe shorts in XL that were onsale. I tried them on and they are definitely larger than the navy XL pair I'm wearing right now. The pockets push out and create a larger silhouette than the other XL ripstop shorts I own.,...and no I haven't lost weight. Perhaps this is why they were on sale. Consistent sizing is helpful to customers in purchasing AND it saves on returns.

These ride up a bit, e Dr specially for mid rise. Feel more low rise. Wish the rise was a bit higher. Other than that, fit is okay

These shorts would be ok if there was about an inch more in the back seam. I don't have a big b***, and the back seam is too short. It would be terrible on anyone with a bigger one. Sending them back.

After washing, the hems had folds in them and will have to be ironed before wearing. I'm not going to do that and will just donate to Goodwill.

These run very small, maybe two sizes too small. I usually wear a 14 or 16 in LL Bean shorts and I got the extra large. They are tight, the rise in the back is insufficient (and I don't have a particularly round booty), and the inseam seems short for a 10" short. The color and fabric are nice so this is disappointing.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with these shorts. I have always respected LL Bean products, however, these shorts are a let down and not the usual LL Bean standard that was expected for the pricey $63.00 price tag. The material is constantly wrinkled, the fold up hem with snap was uneven and did not remain up even after ironing them, the pockets are way too shallow and the waistband does not hold the shorts up for very long. Sorry and disappointed.

I was disappointed because when you did not cuff the shorts the legs were really big and dumping looking. If you plan on leaving them cuffed all the time they might work for you.

These shorts looked so cute, but when I put them on there was a lot of extra materials in front between the waist and the top of the inseam making them very unflattering. I am returning them.

I purchased my usual size, a small, which fit in the waist just fine but the legs were so baggy it look like a skirt. I had to return it. The material was very nice and the quality is good but the fit is awkward.

I wanted to wear them unrolled and as shown they would have been perfect but in reality the bottom flares out and doesn't look good.

Did not like the fit. The legs were way to wide, unflattering.

Sized a little large and a little long compared with other LLBean products, but not enough to send back. Here's the kicker - the website entry says "Roll from 10" to 7" inseam and secure with twill roll tabs and snaps.", which is great because these were long, but what the ad doesn't say (and I didn't notice) is that the "roll tabs" and "snaps" are ONLY on the OUTSIDE seams! That means if you want them rolled up, there's no way to "hold the roll" on the inseam. We tried different ways to roll, but no matter what we tried the inside of the leg unrolled almost immediately, leaving a very sloppy look. We ended up rolling the leg and then stitching the inside seam.

I expected them to fit roomier from the description.

Very short-waisted with the widest legs ever. Makes for a very unflattering fit rolled up or down. Definitely returning.

I loved the color, cloth and pull-up ease. But the leg flare was so extreme they looked more like a skort. I loved that they were 10" inseam (when not rolled up) and would like to see more of those.

These shorts are not well proportioned for women with narrow hips or thin legs. The waist was fine but way too much fabric below that. While I applaud LL Bean's good quality, I wish they would make a line of clothes that looks good on thin people. Much of what I find at Bean's is just too roomy.

Great LL Bean quality and fabric seems durable. But I ordered my regular size and these were huge. Impossible to snug up drawstring waist to fit. Leg openings are beyond generous. Disappointed and had to return.

These shorts are extremely short in the crotch if pulled up to the waist. If they are worn below the waist, the pants are too large.
The snap side strap that lets you shorten the shorts is only on one side, So it droops way down in your inner leg, and there is no way to prevent that 4 inch sag.

I loved these when I first received them. I even thought of purchasing a second pair in a different color. However, on the third wear I looked down to see that they were massively ripped on a dog walk. I didn't even realize when it happened, but presumably get caught on a bush or something in the woods. For something called 'ripstop' I'm a little surprised as it's the most significant damage I can even remember for a recent clothing item.

I love the fabric. For some reason the hems on these wad up in the dryer. I shouldn't iron them because they have stretch - besides who wants to iron shorts? Going back. I love the long pants, same fabric and no problem with the hem.

These shorts are nice material but the fit is very strange. Legs are to long. Not enough fabric to be comfortable in the rear/butt section. Also, they wrinkle really badly when laundered!
