As many other reviewers have noted, these run quite large. The waist is stretchy and the drawstring is also elastic, and the fabric is quite light. When I put my cellphone in a pocket, even that small weight is enough to start dragging the pants down noticeably. They will be fine for gardening or dog walking, which is what I bought them for, but they are much less flattering than my Prana capris or other hiking pants, and I wouldn't choose to wear these for anything more than errands or chores. It just feels like too much fabric in the butt, not enough structure to sit comfortably on the waist and hips (especially if you put anything in the pockets), and on my body the length is also unflattering. I will also note that unlike some other capris that cinch at the knee to allow you to adjust the length, these pants lack a little slider to keep the cinch in place. You have to tie the loose end of the drawstring at the outside of the knee, making it hard to get both legs even, and the tie sticks out in an awkward way. For the price, it seems that detail should have been better engineered. I'm sure I'll appreciate their light fabric for summer gardening and walks, but a miss for a really versatile pair of summer capris.

I LOVE these so much I have 4 pair, each in a different color. I'm a teacher and wear them to school all the time. They are comfortable and school appropriate w/ pockets that keep my hands free. I'm terribly disappointed by had badly the fabric "pills" where my thighs rub. Certainly I walk a lot but for hiking pants I would have expected them to hold up better. Now I'm torn about buying more to replace the ones I already have that look really worn after only a year especially at almost $70 a pair. I feel like they should have lasted longer for the price.

I received these pants in July as a birthday gift from my daughter and I truly like mostly everything about them. The only problem is that after 2 washings the fabric is beginning to pill. I now put them in a lingerie bag in the washer and dry them on a drying rack. I would have bought another color too, but I don't want to risk this happening to pair#2.

I've purchased 4 pairs of vista pants and 4 pairs of crops in the last year, love the fit and weight of the fabric, however my new navy vista crops are pilling after 2 wears. None of my other colors have done this. Very frustrating! Navy is my go to color. What's different about them?

I have 3 pairs of these. Two are a year old and the 3rd is several months.
On all three pairs I'm noticing that the fabric is pilling in the seat, around the pockets and in a few other places. Question whether or not these will still look good next year.
I just wear them for everyday use. No hiking, gardening, etc. Just walking and sitting.
For the price, I'm disappointed.

I really liked this cropped pant. The fit was great and it washed wonderful.
After several uses I noticed that it was pilling. I wanted to keep them because I really liked them.
I did not like the looks of the pilling, so I decided to return them.

I was going to give these crops 5 stars. They fit perfectly, they were comfortable, and they looked good. That was until the fabric started to pill after the second washing.
These were going to be my "go to" crops. I loved the fit and comfort. Now they have been downgraded to wearing around the house. I'm so disappointed!
Please LL Bean-find a better fabric choice!

The pant was ok and though the waist too big, it has a drawstring. It still gapped a bit much for my taste. And I did not care for the color. Why must we hike in muddy colors?

The comfort on these pants is amazing. I wear them in the summer to cycle in or doing errands. The only disappointment is the quality. After one wash the buttons became lose, and the material started to fray. I found a similar pair at a local store for 20 bucks and those are holding up better.I have noticed in the last few years that LL Bean quality has gone down. Disappointed in the quality for the price. But, bottom line they are SUPER comfortable pants...

These are good quality pants. But they are a skimpier fit than I wanted in this type of casual pants. The photo lead me to believe they would fit looser than they do.

These are mostly nylon, so have little heft or body. Therefore they cling at the rear. I have to wear a tunic length top to cover. So they are not comfortable in that respect. They are a size 14 & otherwise fit OK at waist & length.

The pants are very easy to wear with the drawstring. The only criticism is that the material really pills after very little wear. I don't know if the fabric has changed lately. I enjoy the pants but will look for something more durable that doesn't pill.

This fit wasn't quite right for me; the capris were too large in the waist. The elastic at the waist wasn't enough to make them fit, and the drawstriing was also stretchy, making it difficult/impossible to tighten. I considered adding some more elastic but in the end sent them back. I really didn't want to, as I liked them very much.

I love how comfortable theses are I wear them at home all the time. I am very disappointed in the material. I have followed the manufacturer recommendations for washing and drying and yet they always look wrinkled and like I have slept in them. They are black and have started to have the little round "pilling balls on them which are probably only noticeable to me but a big disappointment considering what I paid for them, to say nothing of my disappointment in the quality I expect from LL Bean. Should I return them because of quality issues and give up my most comfortable capris? Hmmm

I would give this a 5 if it didn't pill. I like the look, the weight, and the function. I have worn it around town and also to the gym. It's great for warm weather. But my first pair pilled after a few months. I'm trying again and hope it lasts longer.

These fit well and the quality is very nice but I'm short and on me they looked dumpy. They have a wider leg and I looked like a hobbit in them :)

I wanted to love them, I do not. The fabric is a bit too light. I preferred the cut and fabric of the pants you have carried previously. Can't remember the name but they were also knee length with adjustable button waist.

I have bought the vista shorts many times so tried the longer pants. Large was too small and extra large too big. The material is great and the design makes moving easy. I love all the pockets. Sadly I had to return the pants due to fit but the shorts are great

I first purchased these in a size large. They were really large. I am normally a size 12. Because they were so large I then purchased the mediums. The mediums were skin tight. Could not wear either pair. Ended up sending them both back. For reference I am 5'4" and weigh about 160 pounds. I normally fit in a Bean 12 with no problem.

Love these pants but I bought a pair that pilled up so bad and you no longer have the policy to replace them. So I had to buy another pain.

I love the pants but there is one problem. They all have developed very tiny pulls. I own 3 pairs.

I like the pants. Very thin material so it works for summer BUT I used a small flashlight this morning to walk a dog and put the flashlight into my pocket to open up the door to the house and the warm flashlight burned a hole right through the outside of the pocket - happily not the inside of the pocket! Scary to think that a warm flashlight was enough to melt the fabric on these pants. Returning the ones without the hole. :(
The only other gripe is that the waist tie is elastic so you cannot put anything heavy in your pockets or the pants will slide off cause the tie stretches . . .
Otherwise, love the pants. :(

I initially loved these pants and bought a second pair in a different color. They fit well and are comfortable. However, I have now worn each pair just a couple times (one pair worn twice, the other pair three times), and both have little snags on the legs. While these pants are cute on, they are not at all durable, and are too expensive to be disposable. Years ago I had a skort from LLBean that was a similar material, but I had it and wore it for years. Clearly this material is not up to snuff. I am returning both pairs of pants.

As a 5'1" woman, I have always relied on LL Bean's wide selection of clothing in petite sizes. So, I was disappointed to discover that none of your capri-length pants come in petite sizes. This makes no sense. I tried these, hoping that with the adjustment on the leg they might work, but they're still too long. Please offer some of your capris in petite sizes. I finally gave up on Bean and went to other clothing makers who offer petite sizes.

Love the look of these, but all 3 pairs of mine are terribly pilled on the inside and are rough on my skin. You can also see the pulls of the fabric on the outside. Seems like the fabric is cheaply made. They are too uncomfortable to wear.
