Comfortable & well made pants.
Disappointed that waist drawstring is stretchy elastic & very long.
Finding I need to readjust & retie it often to tighten waistband.

Pants are very comfortable. Just wish the pockets were deeper for a cell phone, billfold and miscellaneous items would be secure.

I bought these pants in a M/T length, size small in August 2024. Perfect fit and length. I just ordered another pair in the same size in March 2025 and they are completely different. Too long by two inches with a drawstring at the ankles, which if you don't use leaves the leg flapping around and if you do use ends up with a big loop hanging off the side of the cuff. Additionally, large pockets have been added to the front ruining what used to be a streamlined look with the older style. So for women with actual thighs the pockets only magnify them. Please go back to the old style with a regular cuff (no drawstring) and no big front pockets. And why are the lengths so inconsistent? Note that I bought this recent pair online so I couldn't clearly see these un-aesthetic changes until the pants arrived. Trying to make do with them but I think I'm going to give them away.

The material was fine. The color was as expected. The problem was the fit. We used to call it "hip hugger" and 40 years ago I could wear it with the best of them. But with my more mature figure of today, they are either too tight in the crouch or fall off my hips. They are all "favorite" fit or sit below the waist. I have looked all through LLBean's sales catalogues and have yet to find pants of this style in the "classic" fit or the one which sits above the waist. If you made them, I think lots of more mature women among us would grab them up. I would.

I like these pants for comfort and ease of movement. They look good, but they pill easily so their usefulness is limited. If I wear them for hiking or sports, it's not critical that they are pilled, but I wouldn't wear them for daily around town uses. I don't know why you can't solve the pilling issue.

I absolutely LOVE the fit of these pants. Comfortable and flattering. However, after owning several of these pants and the shorts, they pill terribly. I wash them inside out and even air dry, yet the material pills easily and they quite quickly look old and ratty.

I only wear high waisted pants so bought size 2X to ensure the pants have more rise area. This worked well. On the downside, the fabric is as thin as tissue paper and wish fabric was a little thicker. Inseam length made me laugh. I'm 5'6" but I think these pants would work better if I was 6' tall. I had to hem them 3 inches. Lastly, elastic drawstring at waist negates tightening the waist because it just stretches out anyway. I'll end with a positive: L.L.Bean makes quality clothing. I may not be a heavy shopper but this company is the place I shop first.

I purchased two pairs for work that requires us to wear pants year round outdoors. I've been wearing them for able a month. The fabric pills and snags easily. The aglet on the waist ties came off in the washer. They are very lightweight and breathable, but not durable.

I bought these a while ago and have worn them two times for light hiking in a park. I brushed against some flowers and the pants pilled and ruined the fabric. I stress that I was in a parklike setting with plants and flowers that did not have spikes on them. I can't imagine these pants hitting a rockface or rough bark and not splitting right through the material. They fit well and are light, but the fabric is too light for camping and hiking purposes and would be better suited for traveling in an airport or car. I would not repurchase them until the fabric is strenghthened.

Pros: lightweight, stretchy, nice pockets. Cons: SO light that every thing in your pocket shows and weighs your pants down! Wish they had a bit more cotton for structure and to keep the static down; socks rubbing, getting out of car, walking then pants are all staticky, clingy, look bad. The stretch waist is nice but the stretchy tie too? When I put phone in pocket it pulls pants down because the stretchy tie does nothing! Swapping useless stretchy tie out for something more substantial. An iPhone and these pants are mutually incompatible (phone just too heavy for this fabric!) Got the charcoal and olive green, nice colors, but would definitely NOT buy these pants again.

I had a drawerful of these as well as the lined winter version. Had my phone slide out and get dumped onto the pavement (as a passenger) or lost it in the car (as the driver) more times than I can even begin to count. Then I found a competitor who actually makes cargo pocket meant to accommodate phones! Like fully accommodate ~ with the phone never sliding out when knees are higher than one's bottom. I just moved and dumped all of these onto a friend who doesn't care about such things. Hard to imagine for me. Like ~ what exactly is the cargo pocket for, anyway? LL Bean has lost my summer and winter pants business ~ at least until they decide that even women deserve to keep their cells safe. (For the record, I have the smallest cell available ~ an iPhone SE which is the size of a 6.)

Recently purchased and washed before wearing. Came out of the washer damaged, not what you would expect from an $80 pants. Quality is going down on Llbean products.

Comfy pants but they started to pill and have some loose threads after wearing them on one trip.

Disappointed. First wearing and I snagged the pants on I'm not even sure what and I have a pull. I expect much better from L.L. Bean. Not sure how others got these to last all season. It's a shame because they fit well.

These pants just didn't work for me. The lightweight fabric is nice and I so wanted these pants to work for an upcoming trip. The legs were way too baggy and I returned them. I am short, 5'2", and I think they would work much better for a taller person.

I wanted to love these so badly, but they were too big! My hips are just shy of 35.5in beginning range for XS (2-4) causing the pants to look too baggy. There was also about an inch too much in the waistband. Please consider including an XXS (0) in your pants range.

PROS - Pants are lightweight in feel and very comfortable in the heat and humidityyou'll almost forget you've got them on, except for the weird pull from that odd seam that runs across the thighs when you're going up stairs.what is that for, anyway? The UPF 50 Sunsmart sunblock works really well, haven't got any sunburn wearing them in UV 7 sun so far. They wash up nicely and really look ok just air dried. CONS - However, you'd think pants with 6 pockets to choose from would have a pocket large enough to fit a modern large cell phone, but I have to wedge my phone around the zipper edge to fit it into the zip pockets. Then the weight of the phone actually pulls the pants down! The elastic ties are not strong enough to hold these up with a phone in my pocket. I put the elastic at the bottom around my feet to keep the pants from dragging on the ground when the phone is pocketed. If I lose weight, I might need suspenders!

I like these pants and wear them almost everyday. However if you were to wear them for hiking in the woods, and caught a branch on them they will tear easily as they did for me. And after a few weeks, my dog's paws caused the fabric to pill as a result of him jumping up to greet me. Even though they are comfortable, I couldn't wear them out of the house as the pilling of the fabric makes them look kind of ratty. Very expensive pair of pants to have such flimsy material. I also hang them to dry as they seem to get shorter in the dryer. Wish they would find a sturdier fabric for these pants. But they are comfortable. I wouldn't recommend them if you want them to stay looking like the day you bought them. If worn a lot, the fabric will pill but if you wear them occasionally they will stay looking nice.

Pants are nice, fit OK, have bought before. However, this time I ordered "toasted almond," which appears on my monitor what the name implies, a light-medium brown tone, What I received looks most definitely grey, not at all what was wanted. Returned. (If any almonds I toasted turned this color, I surely wouldn't be eating them!)

I bought the same jeans I already had. I HATE to hem, and the original jeans fit perfectly. These are 3 inches longer. I'll hem them, but I am not happy about it.

Love my 5 pairs of Vista Shorts and was so disappointed when the pants came and I found a weird seam across the knees. Why? I'd understand if they zipped off at this seam but it does nothing but irritate your knees as you move or even just sit. Returned. Please reconsider making the legs smooth across the knees because I know I'd love them.

Everything about these pants is good (fit, comfort, pockets) EXCEPT the string tied waistband. Mine came loose so many times that I plan to remove it and install a proper one with hook or button. I didn't like them coming loose and sliding down my backside...

Great fit, look great but after gently wearing only seven or eight times they began to pill on the thighs. A bad look!

These pants are comfortable and fit well. However, they can't go in the dryer and they can't be ironed so they look pretty rustic even after being washed.
